The presidential, legislative and governorship/state assembly elections in Nigeria were held in a very tense environment. They were nevertheless recognised as “most credible” since Nigeria’s return to democracy in 1999. They also dispelled quite a number of long-held myths about Nigeria. The figures show the number of votes won by the main candidates in each state. There are 36 states plus Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The Independent National Electoral Commission has yet to centrally confirm all of the figures, which may mean slight adjustments to some numbers.
