What does the horizontal axis represent?

level 1

It’s a big leap, but depending on the games you play it might not matter much. Like, if you’re playing AAA games and want to hit 144hz at 1440p. But indie games or less graphically demanding games? Probably doesn’t matter much.

level 1

The 2080 Super is basically identical in performance to the RTX 3060 Ti, so it shouldn't be too hard to gauge the difference with the 3080 Ti based off of that comparison.

level 1

3070 is roughly same as 2080ti, 3080 ti should be around 40-50% faster than 3070.

level 1

about 1000ti better -super

level 2

Yes, im waiting for the 40s so i can buy the 2060 for a reasonable price

level 2

It's highly unlikely that the 4000 series will be any more readily available than the 3000 series is.

level 2

No, the 3080ti is within 5% performance of the 3090.

level 2

3080ti is about 10% faster than 3080. The issue is that the ti costs a lot more than the 3080.

If money is no problem then get the 3080ti or just the 3090. If money is an issue then the 3080 is far better price for performance.

A 4080 12gb is going to be only a few % faster than a 3080ti, meanwhile the 4080 16gb is going to be up to 30% faster. But the 4080 16gb is also insanely overpriced.

I'd say the 3080ti is still a pretty good pick, it's atleast 35% faster than a 2080ti and has come down in price a lot.

I'm looking to upgrade my current pc and then pass down the parts to my ssf build. I play mainly at 1440 p on a 165 hz monitor but I would like the option of going 4k 60 hz on a TV. Games I play are Apex, Assassin's Creed, and Halo Infinite. I am wanting to get the upgrade out of the way and enjoy the next 2 years before I move on to a new chipset.

I am currently running:

Ryzen 7 3700x - Would like to upgrade to 5800 or even a 5800x3d

MSI 2080 Super - Thinking of upgrading to a 10 gb 3080. Is a 3080 ti that much better?

32 Gb Ram 3600 mhz (4x 8)

Asrock b550 pro4 - Would I need to upgrade to a x570s board to make use of the 5800x3d?

3080 Ti vs 2080 Super Reddit

I currently have a Founders Edition RTX 2080TI and have been thinking about upgrading to a 3080 (10GB) version. With prices starting to come down to MSRP I am thinking about grabbing one while they're in stock. Is the upgrade from a 2080TI to a 3080 worth it if I play at 1440p on an Ultra-wide monitor? I was originally planning on waiting for the 4000 series but I worry about the stock issue being similar to the 3000 series at launch. Would I see a noticeable difference with the 3080 and would it be worth it at MSRP or should I continue to wait for the 4080?

3080 Ti vs 2080 Super Reddit

How much of an improvement is the 3080TI compared to the 3080? Is it worth the extra $300 price tag for gaming at 1440p? I currently have a 2080TI and was thinking of jumping on either the EVGA 3080 or 3080TI Ultra FTW3 Gaming cards while they're available. Is the upgrade worth it?

Got a 3080 ti FE a few weeks ago to replace my 2080 ti strix.

I'd say it's worth it because I've finally entered the realm of 4k gaming.

Off the gate, there was a 30-40% performance increase in Timespy.

level 1

I'm doing the jump, mainly because of HDMI 2.1 want 4k 120fps hdr10 on my lg c1

level 2

That was my main reason to jump from 2080 ti to to 3080 as well. It also is a decent bit better at ray tracing so you get a more stable 4k60+ experience in hdr which basically has me more satisfied with the lg c1 features.

level 2

Hell yeah brother! And with VRR even games that run around 100fps feel buttery smooth. C1 + 30 Series = win.

level 2

You can use a DP to HDMI 2.1 adapter if you are willing to give up VRR. I have run my LG CX 48” that way for over a year now on my 2080 Ti. 4K 120 Hz 10-bit 4:4:4 with HDR works fine.

I feel my 2080 Ti is still more than good enough for 4K gaming so I am waiting for next gen.

i7 8700K 5.1GHz | ZOTAC 2080 Ti AMP

You can get that with usb-c to hdmi 2.1 adaptor, you don't need 3080ti unless you are aiming for %30 perf boost.

level 1

Don't listen to anyone saying to wait for the next gen, you won't get it when you want. It will be the same, you wait a year and a half then you can get one. But oh wait there is a new gen coming, might as well wait another year and a half

level 1

3080 to 3080 ti is minimal difference at 1440p. I have two systems with those exact gpus both running 1440p and about 5% fps difference in most games. Its changed since watercooling the ti but thats to be expected. The Ti scales better for 4k, and pretty much hits my LG C1’s cap of 120fps at 4k while the 3080 is closer to 100. Marginal, might not be worth it for the Ti at 1440p. Also, the Ti is much more power hungry/less efficient

level 2

Hey, thanks for the info. Really? 5% difference? I have a 3070, so basically a 2080ti, and i too was thinking of getting a 3080. But if it is only 5% difference? I thought it would be at least like 20% difference?

I think now its too late to change. I went from 2080ti strix oc to 3090 strix oc. Yes thats about 30% more fps in best case like timespy synthetic benchmark. Went from 16600 gpu score to 22700 on air (23.5k water) but i got my card on release. If you waited this long you can wait for 4000 series.

level 1

Next-gen will have double transistors on the GPU. Why would you buy a 3080 Ti this late. Just wait for the 40-series, six months away at most. If you have money to buy a 3080 Ti you can probably afford a 4080. I don't see the point in upgrading to a 3080 Ti because the 2080 Ti is still very good.

level 2

Whoa you dont seem to remember that it took a very long time to be able to buy those cards. I guarantee you no one will be able to beat the scalpers AGAIN

level 2

Who’s to say the 4000 series will be easily available at or near launch? Strike1 for you

level 2

If he wants it now and can afford that, then it’s whatever.

level 1

If you decide to go for the 4 series, hope you have good PSU :P

level 1

EVGA 3080 or 3080TI? Worth it if I have 2080TI?

Depends on how much you'd be eventually paying out of pocket; If you're not selling/getting anything out of the 2080 Ti, then it's not worth it.

Ryzen 7 5800X/RTX 4090 TUF/3080 TUF

2080Ti is good at it is for now, IMO wait for the 4080, it will destroy (supposedly) the 3080/3080Ti, in just 5-6 months or so.

level 2

this completely overlooks the fact that there will likely be no stock. he won’t be getting a 4080 in only 5-6 months from now.

level 1

I'd go directly to 4000 series. Your 2080ti is pretty good for 1440p.

Is it worth upgrading from a 2080 Super to a 3080 TI?

The RTX 3080 Ti is faster by 65% for 1440p gaming. However, RTX 2080 SUPER is still capable of producing more than 60 frames per second. For 1080p games, upgrading from RTX 2080 SUPER to RTX 3080 Ti is not worth it if targeting 60 frames per second. The price/performance ratio is much better for RTX 3080 Ti .

Is the RTX 3080 better than the 2080 TI?

Basically the GeForce RTX 3080 is significantly more powerful than the RTX 2080 Ti. The only caveat is that there aren't many games that can really push the RTX 2080 Ti, unless it's running the latest games at max settings, 4K resolution and with ray-tracing enabled.

How much better is the 3080 than the 2080 Super?

The average gaming FPS of GeForce RTX 3080 in Assassin's Creed Odyssey is 16% more, than GeForce RTX 2080 Super. The average gaming FPS of GeForce RTX 3080 in Battlefield 5 is 11% more, than GeForce RTX 2080 Super.

How much better is 4080 than 3080?

RTX 4080 vs RTX 3080 and RTX 3080 Ti Summary Results If we consider ray tracing and DLSS, that will make the RTX 4080 around 32% to 52% faster than the RTX 3080 on average. Now, this is only for DLSS 2. I haven't included DLSS 3 since I could only test 2 games with DLSS 3.
