Start chilling your Cosmo glasses: And Just Like That... is officially gearing up for season 2 and it looks like the second go-round is going to answer some questions raised in the first season.

After a successful (and, at times, polarizing) season one, HBO Max greenlit the Sex and the City spinoff series for a second installment back in March. Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis will all reprise their roles as Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York Goldenblatt, as they continue to navigate their lives in the Big Apple — or is Miranda in L.A.?

While you wait impatiently for the next season, here's everything to know about And Just Like That season 2.

What is And Just Like That... season 2 about?

Details about the main plot lines have been kept supremely under wraps but Sarah Jessica Parker told Entertainment Tonight, "Season 2 is about resilience and rebound and laughter, and finding laughter more easily for people who might have experienced grief. [And] more of our cast members who we love."

Which cast members are coming back for And Just Like That... season 2?

Outside of the three main characters, some fan favorites will be joining the cast. The most hotly-anticipated of the comebacks is perhaps the return of John Corbett as Aidan Shaw. Once Mr. Big (Chris Noth) died of a heart attack in season 1, and newly-widowed Carrie began dating again, fans of the show immediately started campaigning for the hunky carpenter to make a comeback.

Back in 2021, Corbett jokingly sent fans into a frenzy when he announced he'd be in season one of the series. "I think I might be in quite a few [episodes]," he told Page Six. "I like all those people, they've been very nice to me." Naturally, people were disappointed when he didn't appear in the series at all.

Murmurs of his return started floating again and SJP officially confirmed we'd be seeing Aidan again, telling Entertainment Tonight, "Well, you know, I can't be like, cryptic about it anymore."

Also coming back is Sara Ramírez, who played the non-binary Che Diaz in season 1 (and recently teased some behind-the-scenes fun on their Instagram). Though their character was often the subject of a lot of criticism, this time around we're going to get to know a bit more about the oft-polarizing comic.

"One of my burning passions about season 2 is Che," showrunner Michael Patrick King told Variety. "I want to show the dimension of Che that people didn't see, for whatever reason — because they were blinded, out of fear or terror. I want to show more of Che rather than less of Che. Like, really."

As far as what their storyline is going to look like, details are still being kept on the down low, but Ramírez told the magazine, "The first season was judging a book by its cover, and season 2 is about reading the book."

Samantha Jones will also be a part of the new season, but Kim Cattrall is still out. Though King has been quite mum about most details, he told Variety that Samantha and Carrie will still be texting in season 2.

The show runner also hinted that he wanted to bring the now-strained friendship a bit closer, telling Variety, "My goal is to bring all the characters into the mix together, so that they're not so much on separate runways."

Nicole Ari Parker will also be returning as fashionista powerhouse, Lisa Todd Wexley. She told Us Weekly that fans should expect Lisa's unrivaled sense of style to return in season 2, stating, "the fashion will be there and the fun will still be there."

When will filming for And Just Like That... season 2 start?

Production for the second season is currently underway. Parker posted a picture on her Instagram showcasing a cargo jumpsuit, a killer pair of heels and an oh-so-Carrie pigeon clutch by J.W. Anderson. "First exterior. Streets of NY. X SJ," the caption read.

She was later photographed smiling from ear-to-ear while shooting the scene in question with Davis.

The season 2 of And Just Like That... is slated to premiere in summer 2023.

And Just Like That..., season two of Sex and the City's reboot series is officially underway. Sarah Jessica Parker revealed the news in September 2022 by posting an image of the script on her Instagram page. The 57-year-old actor shared a snap of the cover page for the script, identifying it was for 'episode 201', but she didn't give too much away as the title was scribbled out.

Parker's co-star Sara Ramirez, 47 also posted about the second season of show being in production.

She recently shared a photo of scripts and guidelines, and simply wrote: 'Shhhhh…. [sic]' in an accompanying caption. The photo was seemingly take at a cast table read, as she had a name card for season two with her character's name, Che. The series' costume designers have also revealed that preparations for the upcoming season have begun.

In 2021, actors Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis announced that they were starring in a follow-up series to their hit Nineties and Noughties drama, which ended with their respective characters settling down with Mr. Big (Carrie Bradshaw), Steve Brady (Miranda Hobbes) and Harry Goldenblatt (Charlotte York).

In the first series, written by Michael Patrick King, Bradshaw is seen navigating life as a single fifty-something following the death of Big, Hobbes splits from Brady to move to Los Angeles with her non-binary comedian partner Che Diaz, and York navigates parenting two children with her ever adorable partner. While Kim Cattrall declined to participate in the project, her character Samantha Jones is referred to numerous times during the reboot, and now lives in London.

While some SATC fans have praised the new show for its progressiveness, addressing issues like gender identity, racial sensitivities, sexuality and ageing head-on, others have criticised it for its sometimes clumsy attempt to push a ‘woke’ agenda. ‘We can’t just stay who we were, right? There are more important issues in the world,’ Hobbes tells her human rights law professor in one of the earlier episodes.

In true SATC fashion, its wardrobe didn’t disappoint. Fans were treated to larger-than-life tangerine Valentino SS19 couture gowns, a traditional maroon lehenga by Falguni and Shane Peacock and a powder blue bodycon Norma Kamali dress that was almost identical (if not for the colour) to Carrie’s black mini dress in the second season of Sex and the City.

However, the reboot hasn’t been without its controversy, not only for Cattrall's refusal to take part, but also with scenes involving actor Chris Noth (Mr Big) being removed as a result of allegations of sexual misconduct coming out soon after episode one of AJLT… aired. Noth has denied all the accusations.

Has And Just Like That…season two been confirmed?

Yes! On March 21, 2022 HBO Max confirmed a renewal of the popular spin off for a second season.

Showrunner Michael Patrick King gave excited fans the news via a statement to The Hollywood Reporter: 'I am delighted and excited to tell more stories about these vibrant, bold characters — played by these powerful, amazing actors.

'The fact is, we're all thrilled. And Just Like That our Sex life is back.'

The 10-episode first season came to a conclusion in February 2022, and before the confirmation there were rumours flying around from actors and producers that fans could be treated to a second, 10-part season. A source told Page Six:‘The creative conversations haven’t happened yet, but everyone is feeling good about the show.’

Meanwhile, HBO and HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys told Vulture in 2021 that a second season was ‘certainly a conversation we’ll have—for sure. But we haven’t decided anything or done anything.

‘I’m going to leave it up to these guys to figure out what they want to do, but I’m very happy with what they’ve done. I will tell you, it’s kind of what you want in a show like this. It really does feel like you’re picking up with old friends and haven’t missed a beat,’ he added.

Actor Sarita Choudhury, who plays real estate agent Seema Patel in AJLT… season one, told Entertainment Tonightthat she’s holding out for a second season.

‘Just the other day, I was thinking, “I wonder.” Because there's a point where they let you know if there is or not and we're not at that point yet. I was thinking, “God, I hope there is,” And also, I was thinking, you know when you bring in new characters and you just start establishing and everyone's getting used to all of us having grown up, Carrie's grown up.

‘I feel like the second [season] would be able to just jump into who they really are as opposed to getting the audience used to seeing what they're seeing. So I would love a second season, but I really don't know.’

In October 2022 it was revealed that actor Tony Danza had been cast in a recurring role (as himself) to play Che Diaz's father, per Deadline. As they said in the season one finale: 'Tony Danza is coming in to read for my father. He’s not Mexican or Irish but he is Tony Danza.'

Has filming for And Just Like That… season two started?

Yes. In October 2022 Davis was spotted in a Victorian-style ball gown, with a black corset bodice and bold multicoloured stripes during filming for season two in New York City . She styled the floor-length frock with a pink peplum jacket as she seemingly exited her character Charlotte's Park Avenue apartment. Davis accessorised the look with a black top hat, dramatic netted veil, bow necklace, leather gloves and vertiginous stiletto boots. Her up-do showed off her diamond earrings too. In the scene Charlotte is talking on her iPhone and rushing outside.

Earlier that month, Parker and Davis had been seen together while filming in the city, and it's safe to say Carrie's fashion A-game is back in full force.

The most note-worthy takeaway from Parker's outfit was her JW Anderson pigeon clutch, which made its debut in the British label's AW22 collection. The clutch was styled with a utilitarian jumpsuit and vintage Dior heels.

As per a photo she shared to Instagram, Parker also wore a miniature Fendi ankle bag under the hem of her jumpsuit - so Carrie.

Davis, meanwhile, looked elegant in a pussy bow blouse, pencil skirt, and patent pumps, which she accessorised with a top handle bag.

Could Kim Cattrall make an appearance in And Just Like That… season two?

Sadly Cattrall has made it pretty clear that she doesn't plan on reprising her role.

Speaking of a potential return to the series in an interview with Variety, she said: 'That's a no. It's powerful to say no.' She also revealed that she turned down the initial series multiple times before agreeing to join as her character Samantha.

'I turned it down three times. I didn’t think I could do it,' she said. 'At 42, I really didn’t think I could pull it off. I finally said, "You're making a mistake here." We did the pilot — it was good but it wasn't there.

'And then it started to find its way. I realised, because I’d never done a series before, the more you play the character, like in theatre, the more you add to it and change. I remember one day, a laugh came out, and I thought, "Holy s**t, that’s great. Sam just got a new laugh."'

As for watching the current show continue without her: 'It’s odd, isn’t it? I don’t know how to feel about it. This feels like an echo of the past.'

This doesn't take away from the joy she felt playing her SATC character previously.

She explained: 'Other than the really wonderful feeling of — it’s rare in my business — people wanting more, especially at 65. That feels powerful, that I’ve left something behind that I’m so proud of. I loved her. I loved her so, so, so much. It’s tough competition. The original show is in all of our imaginations. But for me, it feels clean.'

She also spoke of being unaware about Parker saying she 'wouldn’t be OK’ with Cattrall returning to the show. 'I don't think I read it,' she said. 'It wouldn't happen anyway, so nobody has to worry about that.'

Elsewhere in the interview, Cattrall revealed 'I was never asked to be part of the reboot and 'found out about it like everyone else did — on social media'. She admitted to being heartbroken over a storyline intended for the the series' potential third movie, which was pitched to her, involving a sexting plot line between Samantha and Miranda's son Brady, 14.

She deemed it to be the reason she quit her SATC character.

Cattrall added: 'It’s a great wisdom to know when enough is enough. I also didn’t want to compromise what the show was to me. The way forward seemed clear.'

While she wasn't fond of the proposed plot line for the third movie, Cattrall toyed with the idea of it involving Samantha's 'financial woes', in relation to the 'tough' 2008 recession and having to sell her PR company 'to some guy who's wearing a hoodie'.

What a plot line that would be.

When previously asked whether Cattrall could appear in a future season, if it was to be commissioned, Bloys said: ‘I don’t think [she’d return]. I think they handled it really sensitively and really well. I don’t expect to have those conversations.’

In the opening scenes of And Just Like That... season one, Parker, Hobbes and York Goldenblatt tell character Bitsy von Muffling that Jones is living in London ‘for work’, and later touch on how the move came as a result of a dispute with the trio.

Discussing how Jones is dealt with in the show, Nixon told us in 2021: ‘I really love it, I think it's great - the way we address it, head on.'

‘We reveal that there are layers to it. There’s what you tell casual acquaintances is the situation, and then when you're left alone and discuss it amongst yourselves, we get to a deeper level of sadness and confusion about it. We love this character, and we want to show great respect for her.’

Is it true that John Corbett will be reprising his role as Carrie’s ex-fiancé Aidan Shaw in And Just Like That... season two?

It had previously been reported that John Corbett's character Aidan Shaw could be revived for season two of And Just Like That... after all.

A report from Deadline, published on Friday August 19, sparked speculation that Bradshaw's loveable ex-fiancé Shaw might make a return.

Parker seemingly confirmed on Tuesday, September 27 that Corbett would be reprising his role in season 2 of And Just Like That.... 'Could be, could be,' Parker told Entertainment Tonight when asked if her former co-star would play her character's ex once again. 'Well, you know, I can't be like, cryptic about it anymore.'

Fans previously waited in hope that Shaw would make an appearance on season one after actor Corbett teased his involvement in the show. He told Page Sixin April 2021: 'I think I might be in quite a few [episodes].'

In August 2022 Deadline reported that Corbett would have a 'substantial, multi-episode arc', thought it's yet to be seen whether Bradshaw and Shaw will be an item once again.

When will And Just Like That… season two be released?

While no official released date has been confirmed for the second season, King told Variety the aim is for the new season to begin streaming in the summer of 2023. But Parker revealed in September 2022 that they haven't started filming yet.

What would happen in the And Just Like That… season two plot?

Your guess is as good as ours, but it’s likely season one just touched on the surface of the protagonist’s complex relationships.

If we could dream up the second season, Patel and club owner Z, who began dating at the end of season one, would still be together (yet enjoying the occasional open relationship jaunt) and taking over the New York City social scene, one Old Fashioned at a time.

Despite enjoying a passionate kiss with her podcast producer Franklyn (Ivan Hernandez), Bradshaw would be back on the dating scene and writing yet another book, while York Goldenblatt and her husband would be loved-up as ever and coming to terms with their daughters’ beginning to date.

Diaz and Hobbes will likely have split up, given the comedian’s admission that they don’t want to follow conventional dating tropes, while Brady (Steve, not his and Hobbes’ teenage son, FYI) will be in a relationship with a younger bar tender in Brooklyn and still enjoying his movie nights and ice cream toppings.

Is there an And Just Like That… season two trailer?

It will be a while before we see a trailer, as the second season hasn't started filming yet.
