User Experience

Overall, this machine is an absolute lifesaver! It’s simple to use (even at 3 am), and I would dare to call this a must-have tool for any parent that wants/needs an extra pair of hands while trying to feed baby! This Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced is great to have if you: would rather be sleeping at night rather than feeding baby, have twins, a baby with a big appetite, a colicky baby, are short on time, or want to give baby the perfect bottle. After reading hundreds (if not thousands) of online reviews and using this product myself, there seem to be two main concerns with the Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced – cleaning it and formula weight measurements. So let’s take a closer look at these two items.

Cleaning

Yes, you will need to clean this machine. Which in my opinion is a good thing! Dirty machine = dirty bottle.

I know this can seem like an inconvenience for some, but really the everyday washing is straightforward. Here’s the breakdown for the daily washing – every day, there is are 2 items you will need to clean – the funnel and funnel cover. You will also have to wipe down the powder-dispensing hole on the machine. It took me less than a minute to wash the two pieces before I let them air dry and another 20 seconds to wipe down the machine. I would recommend you do this daily cleaning in the morning after baby’s first bottle so that you have time to put these pieces back into the correct spots during the day and not at night.

There is also a monthly cleaning that is a little more involved, but a monthly cleaning is worth this machine’s convenience.

Time-Saving Tip: you can also purchase an additional funnel and funnel cover so you can wash one and have one on the machine at all times!

Formula Weight Measurement

I’m not going to lie; the comments that I read describing how the Baby Brezza Formula Pro was mismeasuring the formula to water ratio was concerning. You definitely don’t want to underfeed baby!

So I did some of my own investigating and here is what I found.

Properly Set-Up Machine

First up – you will need to make sure you have the right formula number inputted into the machine’s powder setting. For this, you go to the Baby Brezza Settings Finder and answer all the questions about which formula you are using. Then you will program the machine according. This isn’t hard, but it does take a few minutes, so I wouldn’t recommend doing this while baby is crying and needing a bottle.

Formula Weight Test

To ensure the machine was dispensing the correct amount of formula, we will not do the baggie test since this is highly inaccurate as the machine uses a weight measure, not a scoop measurement. Instead, we are going to get out a kitchen scale and do some math.

The first thing I did was I weighed the bottle and then tared the scale, so the weight of the bottle wouldn’t be a factor in this equation. I then ran the Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced for a 4 oz bottle using the Happy Family Organic Baby Formula. Then I weighed the bottle again and got a measurement of 4.75oz of water and formula. Next, I weighed out the correct amount of formula for 2 scoops, added it to 4 oz of water, and got 4.70 oz of water and formula. Since I had to measure out the formula in grams, not ounces, I would say the 0.05oz difference is a human error, and to me, that is pretty darn accurate.

Conclusion: the Baby Brezza Formula Advanced Pro is accurate in measuring the formula to water ratio.

Side note: when I measured out the formula by hand using the provided scoop from the formula box, I got 3 different weights on 3 different bottles (4.89oz, 4.5oz, and 4.72oz), which means that making bottles by hand are more inaccurate then using the Baby Breza Formula Advanced Pro.

Like I mentioned above, you will want to set your machine with the proper formula settings, so you get the correct water-to-formula ratio. You can do this by going to the Baby Brezza Formula Pro Settings Finder page and filling out the proper information. Don’t worry, this is easy – there are only 4 questions for you to click on. Once you fill out this information, you will get a number to enter into the Powder Setting on your machine. The machine will save this number, so you don’t have to do this step every time you make a bottle, only if you change formula brands.

Pros & Cons

Here are some of the pros & cons of the Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced.

Pros

1. Saves you time. The Formula Pro makes a customized warm bottle for baby in 13 seconds flat. I mean, when baby is crying, this is EVERYTHING! For reference, when I make a bottle by hand, it takes me 1 minute and 20 seconds.
2. Easy to use. If my lovely 66-year-old parents (who are not even on Facebook) can figure this machine out in less than 3 minutes, I have every confidence that you can as well!
3. Convenient. This machine was built to save new parents time and energy, and they thought of everything to make this happen!
4. Makes Perfect Bottles: A great way to make the perfect bottle of formula for baby every-single-time!

Cons

• Price. The price can be steep for a lot of parents.
• Cleaning. This machine does require a daily clean. Even though this only took me less than 2 minutes to complete, this may deter some parents.
