Show Top positive review4.0 out of 5 starsWorked well enough Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2022 It's been a few years since I last dyed my hair (used splat with bleach and loved the vibrant new colors, and also loved the colors they faded to) but I didn't want to mess with bleaching my hair so I tried the purple amethyst. First I bought blue then got scared I'd dye myself blue, so went with purple. I didn't notice on the box that the darkest they show for the sample dyed color is medium brown hair and mine is dark brown, but I went for it anyway. As you can see, it doesn't look amethyst. I wasn't expecting it to once I noticed my mistake, but I was hoping for more purple than it shows, like I'm pretty sure I've used l'oreal with some variety of reddish brown hair and gotten a similar color. These pics are from the day after I dyed it, I've washed my hair one time since then and it didn't lose too much more color, but I guess time will tell how well it lasts! It was very easy to use, I followed the directions (left it in for 30 mins as specified in the instructions). I'm not sure if it's because it's been probably 7 years since I last dyed my hair, or my "helpers" trying to distract me, but I had to go over he instructions a few times to find all the info I needed (I threw the paper away already so can't say for sure, but I remember some of the necessary info over with the directions in other languages). I'll probably either use a different brand next time if I want purple hair again, or I'll try this brand in a different (darker!) color so it hopefully shows up in my hair better. I don't think anyone has even noticed any difference in my hair if they didn't already know.
