If aeronautics, as the others said, France, Germany or the Netherland. In France, there are Airbus which basically conceive the aircrafts and Safran for the engines. There is also Dassault for military aircrafts, but I think it might be quite hard to work in that field when being a foreigner. Same thing with MBDA, they build missiles. Thales is another interesting company, they are more in the electronic stuff, they build devices for aircrafts, satellites and missiles. Finally, there is Air France. While being an airline, they also do engineering and they are one of the leaders in the aircraft maintenance industry. In aerospace, ESA and CNES. CNES is the French Space Agency. I don't have many information as I don't work in that field. Show I don't really know about the companies in other countries. Maybe Lufthansa and KLM, that's all I know. In the US, Boeing and GE, but it's really hard to get a job there if you're not an American citizen. Concerning the studies, having a degree from the actual country is always a big plus. I don't have experience in having a degree only from one country, but dual-degrees are great. France is a bit different from other countries though. I don't recommend having a degree from University, as basically everyone has one. It's better to do an "Engineering School", which gives you the title of Engineer (yeah, it's a title there, like being a doctor), and a much bigger salary than an MS. Engineering schools also usually have many partnerships with foreign countries, so you can always check that. ENAC and Supaero are the best aero Engineering schools in France, and the most prestigious as well. For other countries, I don't have a clue. In the US, Georgia Tech is my reference.
