Booker T. Washington Hornets have a long standing tradition of excellence in all that we do. This page pays homage to the hard work, dedication and grit of our student athletes of the past, present and future.

Booker T. Washington head coach Kelvin Chatham is the Week 2 winner of the Houston Texans High School Coach of the Week award. Chatham took-over as the program’s head coach in 2021.

This year, Chatham has the Eagles off to a 2-0 start.

Each Houston Texans COTW will receive recognition on HoustonTexans.com and a $2,500 grant for their football program.

At the conclusion of the high school football season, a Coach of the Year will be selected from the 2022 Coach of the Week winners. They will receive recognition on HoustonTexans.com and social media, a signed certificate, a $5,000 grant for their football program and on-field recognition at our 2023 State of Football game.
