Anyone have experience with both? So far we only have Calico Critters stuff. Even though it's plastic, it doesn't look like flimsy trash like some plastic toys. However, the cutest Calico Critters play sets I want to buy all seem discontinued or unavailable or only available at about quadruple their original prices from a year or so ago. I'm been xmas shopping for a my 3-yr-old daughter and I went ahead and bought 4 sets at much higher prices from abroad but now I see that Li'l Woodzeez play sets are available here locally. However, with COVID I'm staying out of stores so can't see them in person. For those who have seen the Li'l Woodzeez play sets (not the animal figures, just the play sets), how was their quality compared to Calico? In the photos they look more flimsy and cheap but I hope I'm wrong because it would save me a lot of time & money if I could get them instead.
Also, I've noticed that CC stuff seems to get discontinued quickly. Why is that? Last year I ordered the cake shop play set and then changed my mind at last minute and cancelled it. Really regret that decision, because in July 2019 it was selling for about $25 and now it's apparently discontinued and the only place I can find it is asking almost $200! This seems to be a common trend with CC. Anyone know WHY? It's so frustrating! Seems if I don't snatch them up immediately, they could disappear at any moment. So now I feel like whenever I see something I like from them, I have to buy it lest I never get the chance to get it again... Maybe that's Calico Critter company's strategy? I don't know but it's frustrating! So what do you guys think of that strategy? Just start splurging on whatever I like and hide the toys for later, and if I accumulate too many then just sell them at an absurd price later on eBay??
