Can I cancel my online order after it has been shipped?

All orders cancelled after the item(s) have been shipped will incur a $30 cancellation fee.

How long will my order take to arrive?

What does reconditioned mean ?

Reconditioned is a machine which may have been used for demonstration purposes, or has had a minor problem which has been repaired. In some cases there may be a superficial mark or scratch on the machine. All machines are in working order and have been professionally cleaned. Some reconditioned machines may also come re-packaged for delivery and therefore not in their original cartons. Machines do not come with trial formula bottles. Formulas can be purchased via the online shop. This machine comes with a 1 year warranty.

What does Damaged Carton mean?

Damaged carton means that the box the machine comes in is damaged. There is no damage to the machine.

Mop pads can be machine washed in warm water. Use only non-bleach liquid detergents. Do not use fabric softeners or bleach. For best results, air dry or hand wash.

How do I clean the belt spindle it is rusty ?

If rusty make sure they’re cleaned as the rust will make the belt break or slip off. Use light sand paper to sand it down

My BISSELL steam mop will only steam when the trigger is pressed why?

Bissell steam mops have steam on demand triggers please hold the rigger down for 10 seconds while using then release for another 10 seconds.

My BISSELL steam mop has no steam?

Please check the water filter for any discoloration. If you have not changed your filter for 6-8 months please replace it as it may be clogged. You can buy the water filters from our Bissell Shop.

How do i remove the handle on my CrossWave

Please remove the clean water tank off your machine. You will then see a round rubber circle. Please press that and lift the handle off at the same time. 

How do i remove the handle on my CrossWave MAX

Remove the clean water tank from the back of your machine and you will see a small rubber circle, (click here if you cannot locate) please poke that with a small object and pull the handle up and out at the same time. The handle will then be released. 

Can I use my CrossWave/CrossWave MAX as a dry vacuum?

Yes you can just vacuum but is is best to put some water in the dirty tank to help draw the dust and dirt into it. The CrossWave is designed to be used as a vac and mop. For ultimate performance it is best when using both.

Why has my BISSELL Crosswave left streaks on my floor?

To prevent floor streaking you need to make sure you are using enough formula and holding the trigger down when using the machine. streaking can also occur if you’re using to much water for eg. spraying too much water once. Once wet make sure you use the suction all over that area, not just in a straight line.

We also suggest to try the machine with an alternative brush roll.

Why won't the brush roll on my CrossWave turn?

Did you know the way you wash your microfiber pads can help them stay effective longer?

For best results, hand or machine wash them with detergent and no fabric softener. Hang dry or briefly machine dry on low-medium heat.

Does the CrossWave leave the floor dry after cleaning or do you have to wait and let it dry?

The CrossWave will leave the floor less wet compared to regular mopping as it uses the vacuum function to suck up the water and the leftover water will dry quickly, but will not leave the floor completely dry.

How often do i need to change my CrossWave filter?

We recommend to change the CrossWave filter every 6-8 months.

Hard Floor Cleaner Tips Did you know you can help prevent problems with your hard floor cleaner’s sprayer?

Make sure you wash the cap and insert on the Clean Water Tank with warm water and use a soft-bristled brush to remove buildup and help keep your sprayer in good working condition.

Is the CrossWave suitable for Carpets?

The CrossWave is primarily to be used on sealed hard floors and area rugs.

You can use this machine on your carpets as a refresher. It is more effective on rugs and hard floors

For bigger carpets & deeper stubborn stains we suggest looking into our carpet washers.

Is the CrossWave suitable for vinyl floors?

The CrossWave is suitable for vinyl floors as it does not leave too much water on the floor and will not damage your floors. We always suggest testing the machine out in a smaller corner at first to see how it reacts with your floor.

Is the CrossWave suitable for laminate floors?

We consider CrossWave can be used on all sealed finishes although if in doubt it’s always good to test any cleaner first in an inconspicuous area. CrossWave uses very little water – under normal use only a tablespoon per square metre so a lot less than if you simply spilled a cup of tea. Because CrossWave is only using clean solution during cleaning (not re-wiping dirty water over surfaces) it helps eliminate haze and as it vacuums up both water and dirt floors dry rapidly leaving little opportunity for foot prints.

Is the CrossWave suitable for timber flooring?

CrossWave is great on sealed timber floors although if in doubt it’s always good to test any cleaner first in an inconspicuous area. CrossWave has a soft microfiber brush roll for timber surfaces and under normal use it only applies 1 tablespoon of fluid per square meter so the surfaces are not soaked as they may be when using a mop.

Why does my machine blow dust?

Make sure the filters are install properly and clean. The pre-motor filter can be hand washed in warm tap water and mild detergent. Make sure the filter is completely dry before reusing. The Post-motor filter must be replaced. – Make sure there are no clogs in the hose. To unclog the hose massage the clogged area to work the debris out from the hose. – Check the hose for any damage. My vacuum has NO suction what do I check?

Check ALL filters on your machine, all filters need to be replaced every size months, once you have cleaned/replaced the filters are there is still no suction please contact bissell.

The filter door on my BISSELL vacuum cleaner keeps popping off.

It may have warped due to a dirty filter. Please replace the filter and you may also need to replace the filter door.

How do I reset my BISSELL carpet washer?

You will see 2-3 screws at the back of the unit with arrows pointing to them. Can you please unscrew theses screws ONLY with the arrows pointing to them, pull the handle piece up and put back in, please re screw the screws and test the unit again

Can I use the BISSELL revolution on shag pile carpet?

No, do not use on shag pile floor rugs that are 100% headset polypropylene, they will wrap around the brush roll get caught and pull the threads. We do not recommend using any BISSELL shampooer on shag pile that have a rotating brush roll.

The BISSELL portable and handheld carpet washer are wet extraction models only. Please do not use as a dry vacuum. If you use as a dry vacuum, you may damage your deep cleaner and void your warranty. Please refer to the “how to use” section of your User’s Guide for additional details.

How long will it take for my carpet to dry?

Drying time varies by type of Carpet, fabric, upholstery,
thickness and cleaning technique of the user.
However, it’s best to wait two to three hours before walking
on the carpet after deep cleaning.

Note: the spray trigger is designed for the releasing
of water and formula. Permanently holding down the trigger spray will only
generator excess water.

How long will it take to clean a room?

It normally takes less than an hour to clean an average 12′ x12′ room.

My Little Green / Spot Clean will not spray. What can I do to correct it?

My Little Green / Spot Clean is leaking from the bottom. What can I do to correct this?

Make sure the collection tank is locked into the unit. You should be able to hear/feel the tank “snap” into place. If the collection tank will not lock into place; check the stem on the back of the collection tank near the top. Is it broken? If your little green is leaking please refer to the troubleshooting guide If your spot clean is leaking please refer to the trouble shooting guide if your Spot clean / Little Green is still leaking please contact BISSELL.

How many rooms will 1 bottle of formula clean?

We cannot say exactly as it depends on how much the trigger is pressed during the cleaning process but approximately 2-3 average size rooms. When filling the clean water tank with water and formula, there are two measurement lines - one for water and one for formula (some formulas also have a measuring cap), to ensure you are using the correct amount of both. When cleaning large areas that require more than one tank, it is best practice to let the tank empty before refilling with fresh water and formula to ensure the mix is balanced to recommendations.

What is the advantage of owning a BISSELL Ready Clean vs. a larger washer?

The BISSELL Quickwash is intended for quick and easy maintenance of carpets, area rugs and high traffic areas. BISSELL knows you take pride in your home and how you look for ways to clean areas that soil more frequently. The BISSELL Quickwash is light in weight, convenient in size and easy to use.

My Ready clean is releasing solution, even without the trigger depressed. How can I correct this?

Please try the following technique to get your machine working properly: Remove the handle screw located on the back of the unit in the centre near the on/off switch. Remove the handle from the machine and re-install the water tank to see if the unit still leaks without the handle installed. If the unit does not leak, the handle on your machine may have become misaligned. Please try the following tip when reinstalling the handle and screw: Place the handle on the unit. Next, depress the foot lever and lay the machine down to the floor, then turn it over so that the screw hole is facing up toward the ceiling. Drop the screw into the screw hole and tighten it. (It may be necessary to apply moderate force while tightening the screw.) If the unit continues to spray or leak when the handle is removed, please contact your nearest BISSELL Authorized Service Centre.

My User's Guide that came with my Upright Carpet Washer recommends performing a Water Rinse after deep cleaning. Is this necessary?

While rinsing after deep cleaning is optional, BISSELL recommends this step for two reasons. A final water rinse of the carpet will help remove any excess soap and which could attract dirt when your carpet is dry. Running plain hot tap water will also help “flush” the internal tubing of the machine to help prevent odours which can be caused when cleaning formula/dirt is left behind in the machine.

Can I use my Upright Carpet Washer as a dry vacuum?

BISSELL Upright Carpet Washer are designed for use as wet extractors only. Improper use can result in damage to the machine. Please refer to the User’s Guide for your product and read the “How to use” section.

What is deep cleaning and why is it worthwhile?

Deep cleaning is a carpet-cleaning process that loosens and removes most of the harmful dirt and debris, in addition to ground-in dirt which may be deep down in the fibres of your rugs and carpets. Not only does it protect the investment you have in your home, but parents of young children, pet owners, and allergy sufferers may find deep cleaning especially beneficial.

Why does "stain resistant" carpet even need to be cleaned?

Even though pre-treatment helps resist stains, carpet manufacturers typically recommend maintenance of their “stain resistant” carpets. This is because dust mites, stains, embedded dirt and ground-in dirt should be flushed from the carpet fibres to prevent damage to the resistant coating.

A BISSELL Carpet washer machine is safe and effective on many carpet types, although certain wool carpets require extra special care. Silk and velvet should not be deep cleaned. BISSELL recommends following the furniture manufacturer’s fabric treatment instructions before using our product.

Do I have to vacuum first BEFORE i use my BISSELL carpet washer?

Is the BISSELL Bark Bath noisy?

The BarkBath Tool itself is silent. However it is to be used on a portable carpet cleaner like a SpotClean so the noise would come from the machine. A towel or similar under the machine would help absorb the noise. The long hose on the Tool also helps to distance the machine from the dog.

How does it go with long double coats?

The Tool is optimized for use on most hair types, however using a screwdriver you can remove the screw from the plate of the Tool and pull off to expose longer nozzles for use on thick, heavy or longer coated dogs.

Could this work to bath my horse?

We haven’t used the tool on a horse, although the concept was developed from a similar horse grooming tool.

Will it attach to the steam mop?

No unfortunately it will not. The BarkBath Tool attaches to any BISSELL portable carpet washers such as the SpotClean.

Can I use the Bark Bath with other shampoo?

We recommend no-rinse BISSELL dog shampoo however you may use other brands but it must be “no rinse”.

Will my Bark Bath work in my Upright Carpet Washer?

The BISSELL BarkBath Tool is recommended for use with portable cleaners – such as BISSELL SpotClean – to minimise the risk of toppling an upright cleaner by accidentally pulling the hose during use. However the BarkBath Tool can be used with upright carpet washers, we suggest to be mindful of the loudness & heaviness of the machine. In addition, some upright cleaners continue to have turning brush rolls when parked which may generate further noise and hence disturb the dog. The Bark Bath must not be used with upright deep cleaners that have built in heaters.

How often should I wash my carpet?

BISSELL recommends a thorough deep cleaning of your carpet approximately two or three times a year. For high-traffic areas and the occasional spot or spill, you may use your carpet washer as needed.

What is the best cleaning method for Berber carpet?

Research has determined the water extraction method of cleaning, such as used in a BISSELL upright carpet washer, is an effective way of cleaning Berber carpet. It is always a good idea to contact your carpet manufacturer or retailer for specific cleaning recommendations on the carpet in your home. Some types or designs of Berber carpet have a tendency to “fuzz” with wear or repeated rubbing. It is generally recommended you vary the direction of the machine during cleaning and avoid repeated stroking or rubbing in one area. For best cleaning results with Berber carpet, we recommend treating the entire area to be cleaned using either of the following methods: Pretreat the area with BISSELL Tough Stain PreCleaner. Spray the area according to the product directions. Gently agitate the area with the brush on your deep cleaner’s floor nozzle. Wait 15 to 20 minutes before deep cleaning with your machine, allowing the formula to break down and loosen embedded dirt and tough soils. Or… Lightly pre-spray the entire area using hot tap water and BISSELL Fiber Cleansing Formula, following the product instructions. Gently agitate the treated area with the floor nozzle brush, powerbrush, or DirtLifter Powerbrush. Tap water generally contains numerous impurities, minerals and other organic compounds that can damage steam mops and other products with boilers such as kettles, irons etc. Especially if you live in an area with hard water, minerals like calcium can contribute to lime scale build up adversely affecting performance, steam generation and the life of your BISSELL.
