Can you get Devil Fruit powers by eating the user?

Devil Fruits are an incredible source of power that exists in the One Piece world. Although they're known to be quite rare in the four Blues of the world, the Grand Line has plenty of Devil Fruit users, so having these abilities is pretty common there.

Most Devil Fruit users in One Piece are old enough to either be pirates or part of some organization as working with them is how they find these items in the first place. However, there are some users of these mystical powers who are known to have been quite young when they ate their fruits.

10/10 Trafalgar Law – Age 13

Trafalgar Law is the captain of the Heart Pirates who hail from the North Blue of the One Piece world. Currently, Law is 26 years old and he was introduced to Donquixote Doflamingo at the age of 10.

Corazon, Law's benefactor, saved him by feeding him the Ope Ope no Mi on the day he died on Minion Island. According to Law, this happened 13 years ago, meaning he was 13 back then, making him easily one of the youngest Devil Fruit users.

9/10 Sugar – Age 10

A member of the Donquixote Pirates, Sugar is the user of the Hobi Hobi no Mi. This is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows Sugar to turn anyone she touches into a toy and make them sign a contract that binds them to her will.

Although Sugar should be 22 years old, she is physically only 10 as the Hobi Hobi no Mi prevents the user from aging once eaten. As such, Sugar ate her Devil Fruit when she was 10 years old.

8/10 Hancock – Age 12

Boa Hancock sailed with the Kuja Pirates when she was young but was abducted and ended up as a slave of the Celestial Dragons. For their disgusting entertainment, Hancock was force-fed the Mero Mero no Mi at the age of 12.

Thankfully, Fisher Tiger rescued her, along with countless other slaves, and Hancock was then taken care of by Silvers Rayleigh, Shakky, and Gloriosa. Currently, Hancock is one of the strongest people in the One Piece world.

7/10 Sonia and Mari – Before Age 12

Boa Sandersonia and Boa Marigold are Hancock's younger siblings and were both kidnapped with her. Just like Hancock, they were force-fed Devil Fruits by the Celestial Dragons as well.

While Sandersonia was fed the Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: Anaconda, Marigold was fed the Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: King Cobra. After being saved by Figer Tiger, they are currently extremely strong and serve under Boa Hancock.

6/10 Doflamingo – Age 10

Donquixote Doflamingo was once a Celestial Dragon who traveled to the surface with his family to live among humans. Expectedly, things went horribly wrong for Doflamingo's family and they were hunted by those who they had abused in the past.

As his mother died, Doflamingo decided to kill his father. Soon after, Doflamingo met Vergo and the rest of the future Donquixote Pirates. At the age of 10, he was offered the Ito Ito no Mi by Trebol.

5/10 Chopper – Possibly At Age 9

The doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates, before joining the crew, Tony Tony Chopper lived a very hard life. Chopper was ostracized by his herd for having a blue nose, and years later when he ate a Devil Fruit, he was completely cast out.

Chopper then decided to live among humans since he had the Hito Hito no Mi, however, he was treated as a monster once again. This was when he met Dr. Hiriluk. At this point, Chopper was 9 years old, meaning he ate his Devil Fruit at either this age or slightly earlier.

4/10 Momonosuke – Age 8

The future Shogun of Wano Country, Momonosuke was introduced to the fans as an 8-year-old child during the Punk Hazard arc. He found his way to Punk Hazard after getting on the wrong ship and being separated from Kin'emon.

Being a samurai, Momonosuke didn't eat for several days but ultimately the hunger was too much for him to control so he chose to eat Vegapunk's artificial Devil Fruit. He received powers that are quite similar to those that Kaido possesses.

3/10 Nico Robin – Possibly Before Age 8

Nico Robin was born on Ohara in the West Blue and was left by her mother when she was just 2 years old. Although her uncle took her in, he and his wife abused Robin and made her feel worthless at every opportunity they got.

When Robin was 8, she passed an archaeology exam and became the youngest archeologist on the island. By this point, she already had the power of the Hana Hana no Mi. It is unknown when exactly she received this power.

2/10 Luffy/Otama – Age 7

Monkey D. Luffy ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi when he met Shanks at a bar in Foosha village 10 years before his journey began in One Piece. At this point, Luffy was just 7 years old, making him one of the youngest Devil Fruit users in the story.

Just like Luffy, Otama, a young girl who lives in the Kuri region of Wano, ate her Devil Fruit at a very young age. Although she is 8 right now, she ate this Devil Fruit well before reaching this age. It is possible that she has had this power for years but the exact age at which she ate the Kibi Kibi no Mi hasn't been specified.

1/10 Charlotte Linlin – Age 6

So far, Linlin is the youngest Devil Fruit user to appear in One Piece. At a very young age, she was abandoned by her parents on Elbaf where she was taken in by Mother Carmel. Although Carmel was actually a child trafficker who intended to do the same with Linlin, she never got the chance as on her 6th birthday, a tragedy took place.

Along with the semla that was given to her, Linlin also accidentally ate all her friends and Mother Carmel, who held the power of the Soru Soru no Mi, thus becoming the user of this fruit on the day she turned 6.
