I had stolen a very nice car because my stock car was pretty slow, but I turn away from it to grab something from ammunarion and it disappeared. Should I just upgrade the stock cars? I heard I should save money to invest in stocks. Only have maybe 100k or so on each character.

- Can you keep stolen cars?
ChrisHogan 5 years ago#1 I have one in my garage, but is is it worth upgrading it? Will I be able to use it just like any of my purchased vehicles? |
Talon5967 5 years ago#2 I forget if you can bring high-end cars into your garage. I'm thinking no. But the sure-fire way to test is to take it to the Pay and Spray. If it's a high-end, you'll get a message that the car is too hot. If it's a car you can keep, you'll drive it right in. If you want to keep it, make sure the very first thing you put on it is insurance. Without that, you'll never get it back if it's destroyed. There are 10 types of people in the world. Those that know binary, and those that don't. |
VexNoFace 5 years ago#3 Putting it in your garage has the exact same effect as putting in a tracker... which means you're able to keep it. Put insurance on it and upgrade it all you want. It's yours now. VexNoFace likes it rough. |
Motimus_Prime 5 years ago#4 ChrisHogan posted... I have one in my garage, but is is it worth upgrading it? Will I be able to use it just like any of my purchased vehicles? It depends on the car. Some of the better cars for racing can be stolen off the street. The Dominator (newer Mustang) was the king of the Muscle class for awhile. Now it's the Sabre Turbo (once you upgrade it at Benny's). Likewise the Schafter ruled the Sedans class until its V12 cousin became available for purchase. Street cars can definitely be worth upgrading and having around. |

If you are playing online then you cannot save high end cars because they have trackers already in them and are essentially "owned" by someone else. But if you get a lower level car (or purchase a car on the internet from your phone) then you can put a tracker in it to save it and even buy insurance for it.
In single player you can trick your car out, and put it in any garage to save it. If you do not put it in a garage and trick it out and lose it before leaving it in a garage it will not be saved.
Also keep in mind there is a glitch that makes garage cars some times vanish for no reason, so keep that in mind before spending a lot of money on it.
Franklin can buy the Los Santos Customs in Sandy Shores and it gives you free upgrades, and you can use that to upgrade Trevor and Micheals vehicles too, just have the two characters meet up, have Franklin take the car you want, mod it, switch to your other character and take the modded car home and save it.
