Can I watch NBA All-Star 2022 live on NBA League Pass?

The answer to this question is that it depends on where you’re watching from.

US and Canada-based subscribers to League Pass, the NBA’s online platform which allows viewers to stream games live and on-demand, won't be able to use the service to watch All-Star 2022 as it happens.

However, international subscribers will be able to tune in live using League Pass.

Blackout restrictions in the US and Canada

Viewers in the US and Canada cannot use League Pass to watch All-Star 2021 live because of blackout restrictions, which occur when local or national networks in the countries have "certain exclusive rights to televise live games and content", the NBA says.

Subscribers can use their League Pass to listen live to the audio of blacked-out matches, which the NBA says "will be available for viewing after the game has concluded".

More information on blackout restrictions is available here.

After a disrupted 2021 format, the NBA All-Star Weekend returns to its regular February schedule in 2022. That means it's spread back over 3 nights (days for us Australians). However, there are some changes to certain events including the Rising Stars and skills challenge.

For the fifth straight year, LeBron James was named team captain after finishing as the top overall vote-getter in the Western Conference. The other team captain is yet again Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant, who is also ironically injured for the All-Star event just as he was last year.
