EDIT: One year later, still love this jacket. Couple design features can be improved, but overall it's a massive improvement over the regular cookie cutter Carhartts After getting this jacket, it is actually pretty interesting how many simple but innovative design features there are in it. Scroll to the bottom for the quick summary review The sleeves instantly stuck out to me. The inside of the sleeve has the compression cuff like you would see on
a regular jacket. But on the outside, the sleeve extends a bit farther. And, the outside cuff isn't perfectly rounded. The top of it seems to be a bit longer then twords the bottom of the wrist, I assume to keep a bit of breeze off the back of the hand while keeping wrist mobility. The hood is easily detachable with the snap buttons. It is roomy inside with a beanie, and has a draw string to snug it up. The outside is coated in a water resistant coating, but that is never permanent. I know you can use Greenland was to add more water resistance. POCKETS......I like my pockets. I don't know how women do it, I need pockets. Typical work jackets haveing one little inside pocket doesn't do it for me. There are 2 nice big zipper pockets on the outside, big enough I can fit my big chunky phone with a case in. One inner chest pocket with zipper on the left, and a smaller inner chest pocket on the right with Velcro. And of course, 2 outside waist height pockets for your hands Ive been wearing this in about 32°f in a light t-shirt with a beanie and I've been fine, im sure it can go a bit lower. It's roomy enough for sweater underneath (or 2).. The "full swing" includes an arm pit and shoulder gusit to help you move without getting bound up. And because of this, the sleeves aren't super baggy, which is nice. But the chest and stomach is far too baggy for my taste. With all these features to allow better movement, it's annoying to see such a baggy front section. BUT, im on the more slender side of a blue collar worker at 5'9", about 170lbs Oh, and I cut the Carhartt logos right off... I think they're ugly, and the jacket looks very nice without them. These jackets take a licking and Keep on ticking. Sorry I don't know how else to explain how durable these jackets are. I put my jackets threw hell year round at my job. Other jackets would last me 3-5 months. Where these jackets last me 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 years at my job and then I still use them for personal use or donate them. Buy this Jacket. January 8, 2022 JoshieBoy32 Amazing jacket, awesome fit, super super warm, by far one of the most stylish, affordable, comfortable and warm jackets I have ever seen. I orginally bought it for spring as I thought it was quite stylish, but it has really done wonders for this crazy cold winnipeg weather. Weather here can get as low as -40 degrees celisus, and this jacket doesn't show any signs of letting the cold in. Two Times a Full Swing-er December 20, 2021 Matt I had never owned a winter jacket before, but after last winter I decided to invest in a proper winter jacket. I used money I received as a graduation gift to buy the Carhartt full swing jacket. I liked it so much, I started wearing it this fall when temperatures first dropped into the 50s (considered cold where I am originally from). In November, my car was broken into (while working on research at the archives of a historical state park) and the jacket (with my debit card in the pocket) was stolen. The new jacket owner went on a spending spree with my card and was not caught, but thankfully he will not freeze this winter. When I realized I would not be getting the jacket back, I purchased another, identical jacket. I am wearing it now and its great. Better wind and cold resistance than any hunting jacket I've ever used, and similar water resistance. Also, more professional looking than the Columbia fleeces I normally wear. Great jacket.
