I'm looking for piano under $1000 and play classical music.

If I have to choose between Roland FP-30 and Casio PX-S3000, which one do you like better for classical music?

I heard Roland sound is more like piano and has more weight key which I prefer but not allowing for faster (and more accurate) playing repeated notes.

I had the 3000 and replaced it with a Kawai ES110 for $660. I'm more pleased with its key action, response, and sound. I did not care for the feel or sound of the FP30 at all. I would choose the 3000 over the 30 if I had to, but would be much happier with an ES110.

The usual phrase here is that "You should try them yourself". Of course at the moment it's not possible everywhere.

I don't know about the repetition speed. It can of course vary from model to model.

A usual item of obsession is the pivot length of the keys and that's much better in the Roland though not as good as in some other models.

But on the Casio the feel of keys chance more along the key.

Sound is a matter of opinion. Mostly. I'd say both models have quite distinctive sounds. It's easy to say "That's a Casio!" and "That's a Roland!".

The ideal reaction should be "Is that a digital piano? Or a real one?" 😁

Don't forget the Kawai ES110 which might be roughly the same price.

As mentioned above I usually say try before you buy, but you asked for opinions, so here's mine: for CLASSICAL music, I'd say go Roland FP-30 every day of the week and twice on Sunday. The piano action alone would prompt me to recommend it over the Casio, though I'll opine that the piano SOUND is far better as well. If you use the Piano Partner 2 app, you'll unlock more voices and rhythm tracks to play with... granted, not as much as the Casio, but enough just to have a bit more fun... Yes, the Casio is a jack of more trades, but not really master of any... and definitely not when it comes to PIANO. Just MY opinion.

EDIT: I have not tried any Kawai pianos as we do not have a dealer in my town... but a lot of people recommend them so, check it out.

The Casio PX-S-3000 is a mid-range arranger digital piano.
If you are a beginner wanting to play classical, you don't need the hundreds of sounds, lots of functions, and backing rhythms etc.
Plus, it's designed for roving around doing outdoor gigs using batter power.
Unless you're planning to gig and have a very small car (and might not want to carry other equipment) then the PX-S-3000 isn't a good fit.

Where do you see FP30 for $400

Singapore. I guess it's cheaper because they're manufactured next door in Indonesia.

Pandemic pricing has them up at $700 in the usa.

If you're going to pay $700 you might as well get the Kawai ES-110 instead.
The main selling point of the Roland FP-30 and the Yamaha P-125 is that they're cheap (the Yamaha P-125 sells for about USD $450-$500 here) - if they're not giving you a cheap price for them then they're not worth buying.

Is Casio PX S3000 good?

The PX-S3000 features the Smart Scaled Hammer Action, which is a new 2-sensor action developed specifically for the compact size of the new PX-S series. Overall, the keys feel great. They are responsive and allow for quick note repetitions without any issues.

Is Roland FP

If you've been a long-time reader of our reviews, you'll know that we're massive fans of Roland's FP-line. For the longest time, we've been recommending the Roland FP-30 as the ultimate budget digital piano for beginners, as it provided the best balance between sound quality and playability.

Is Roland FP

The FP-30 is the only piano in this price range that has such powerful speakers. Digital pianos from Yamaha, Kawai, Casio, have no more than 2 x 8W power output. Therefore, the dynamic range (from fortissimo to pianissimo) on the FP-30 is much better, allowing you to be more expressive in your playing.

Is Roland fp30x better than Yamaha P125?

Overall, both pianos, the Yamaha P125 and the Roland FP-30 are great choices as entry level digital pianos. If you are at beginner or intermediate levels, any of these two will cover your needs. But I have to say that the Roland is superior to the Yamaha because it's just better at so many levels.
