Damn son whered you find this mclovin

Who does the “Damn, son! Where’d you find this?” voice? Is Christopher Mintz-Plasse, aka Mclovin, the voice actor who does the damn son voice, or is it Shadoe Haze, aka Awesome Voice Guy?

Christopher Mintz-Plasse – ‘Damn, son! Where’d you find this?’

Why do people think Christopher Mintz-Plasse is the face behind the Trap-A-Holics voice?

It originated in a World Star Hip Hop video, in which a mock reporter stages a guerrilla shoot.

The reporter “raids” the Trap-A-Holics studio during a recording session, and finds actor Christopher Mintz-Plasse wearing bling and a cardigan.

So, what happens in the video?

In the video, Mintz-Plasse placates Trap (DJ Trap-A-Holics) – calling him a name that sounds like Veloci-Trap-tor. “It’s cool”, he then says, “he’s got the camera on me.”

Mintz-Plasse then proceeds to lip sync over the audio of the various audio clips, including the “Damn, son!” clip.

He’s got competition

But it’s not only Christopher Mintz-Plasse whose voice acting has been associated with the clip.

While some have broadcasted their impressions via YouTube in an attempt to convince others that they actually made the damn son voice clip, others have challenged Mintz-Plasse to broaden his voice acting horizons.

Who actually does the damn son voice?

DJ Trap-A-Holics, who popularised the clip, apparently didn’t know who had made it, when he started using it.

This is because it was just part of a large DJ drop compilation he had purchased.

The real man behind the “Damn, son! Where’d you find this?” voice clip is Shadoe Haze. Haze also goes by Awesome Voice Guy.

Meet Shadoe Haze

Haze’s Instagram bio reads: “Damn son, where’d you find me?” View Haze’s testimonial video below.

In his deep dive into the story behind the voice clip, YouTuber wavywebsurf reflects on the incongruence of a “husky sounding, redneck guy” and Trap-A-Holics’ trap-style beats.

“It’s just funny,” he then says.

As Awesome Voice Guy, Shadoe Haze has a number of demos, available to listen via his website.

Who actually says damn son where'd you find this?

Meet the voice actor, Shadoe Haze. Shadoe's voice was made famous ever since he said the six words “damn song, where'd you find this.”

What band is McLovin in?

In 2007, around the release of Superbad and the advent of McLovin', Mintz-Plasse bought a drumkit with some of his earnings from the film to push forward the riff-driven rock of his band The Young Rapscallions. After eight years and just one EP, the group came to an unceremonious end when the bassist quit.
