Delta Community Credit Union pre approval Credit Card

Applying for a loan w/ Delta Community Credit Union?

Whether you're applying for an auto, mortgage, or personal loan, Delta Community Credit Union has extremely competitive rates. The problem? You need great credit to get those loan terms (if you want your best rates). Your first step to determine if you're eligible for top-tier rates is to pull your Credit Report.

You can review your Credit Report and find every inaccurate item (and can potentially get it removed), or contact a Credit Repair company, like Credit Glory, to walk you through that entire process.

You can schedule a free consultation with Credit Glory, or call one of their Credit Specialists, here (833) 412-6805 ➔

Delta Community Credit Union vs. Major Banks

The short answer is... it completely depends (and your mileage may vary!). Not all Credit Unions are good. Not all banks are bad. Credit Unions, like Delta Community Credit Union, are great for high CD rates & low interest loans / credit cards. The trade off? They're not as good because their resources, generally, are more limited for website services, apps, etc.

Credit Unions, as member owned organizations, aren't trying to make a profit. It's that simple. Of course, like any other not-for-profit, some are run well. Others? Not so much. The ultimate goal? Benefiting their members and maximizing their experience. Delta Community Credit Union is a good example of a relatively well-run Credit Union. Their fees are minimal, their rates for all loan types are good, too.

Keep in mind, you'll have to apply for a membership to get accepted. This means they'll most-likely review your Credit Report & determine if you're eligible. We recommend speaking with a Credit Repair company, like Credit Glory, to understand how you can potentially improve (and fix) your Credit Score (before you apply for your Credit Union membership).

Banks, on the other hand, are in-it to make a profit. Generally, this means higher fees (on average). Banks also generally don't focus on the community the same way Credit Unions do. Credit Unions have memberships, while banks are generally open to anyone, anywhere. The primary pros of banks are generally better business services that are tailored to individual situations in a more comprehensive way. Also, if you plan to travel internationally, you save a lot of headache with a major bank account (and credit card).

I did this application over the phone since I have already been with Delta United Credit Union since 2014 so the process was really simple. They did not pull my credit but instead took my account and my credit with them into consideration. I have a checking account, savings account and a child savings account with them. Those are the only products I have used with them. I was instantly approved for $10,000. My Sign Up Bonus: No annual fee 2,000 points for new Reward Points Program enrollees1. 1,000 points for your first signature-based purchase within 30 days of account opening Free Reward Points Program Earn 1 point for every $1 spent on eligible purchases Bonus Reward Points Program - each quarter you can earn 2x and 3x Reward Points in select categories Reward options include: Cash Back, Gift Cards, Merchandise and Travel with no blackout dates

As you would expect.

For a local credit union this card is not bad. They have improved the rewards system and now offer the 3-2-1 rotating points rewards on selected categories. Points are not on a 1-1 ratio. Great card for cash advances as there is no fee for the transaction and the interest amount is the same as that of purchases. Where it gets hinky is trying to use the card outside of your normal circle. They will decline and shut the card down on any unplanned out of normal network transactions. It gets worse trying to work with the fraud department from India after hours. If you are lucky enough to get the local branch then you may be able to work out your issues.
