Did JBL run over John Cena?

With how long Monday Night Raw has been running for it shouldn’t surprise anyone to hear that there are likely plenty of moments that even the most dedicated fans have forgotten about. At times, the moments that fans have forgotten about are often worth forgetting for how bizarre and disturbing the moments were.

Writing a weekly show for decades can’t be an easy thing, so it’s almost understandable that, at times, Raw dipped into a bit of a weirder territory in terms of story-telling. While there are strange, yet iconic moments like Kurt Angle and his milk truck (which mirrored an equally iconic Stone Cold moment), the truly interesting moments were darker and utterly baffling.

10/10 Daniel Bryan Chokes Justin Roberts

Daniel-Bryan-Chokes-Justin-Roberts

It might be surprising to plenty of wrestling fans to see a Daniel Bryan moment on this list. The somewhat disturbing moment actually ended up getting Bryan fired before he was eventually brought back.

It’s rare to see any kind of choke on WWE television these days, so the image of Bryan wrenching on Justin Roberts neck can be a hard one to look at. The thing that made it even more surprising was that WWE tends to stick to a PG rating for their shows, so this display of violence was likely shocking to plenty of viewers at home.

9/10 Snitsky Kicks A Baby

The wrestling career of the monster of a man that was Snitsky was interesting, to say the least. He found himself in the middle of one of the most bizarre storylines in WWE history with none other than the fan-favorite women’s wrestler, Lita.

The storyline was a mess, to say the least. Things got really disturbing when on an episode of Raw, Snitsky made his way to the ring with a baby in his arms. After a brief interaction with Lita and Chris Jericho, Snitsky would do the unthinkable as he then proceeded to punt the fake baby into the crowd.

8/10 JBL Runs over John Cena

JBL v Cena

The heated rivalry between John Cena and JBL led to some of the best moments of both men’s historic careers. During the rivalry, there was one moment from an episode of Monday Night Raw that took a bit of a disturbing turn.

In a backstage segment, JBL would sneak attack John Cena and leave him laid out against a car. That is already dastardly enough, but JBL would then get in a car of his own and run over the downed John Cena. If there was ever a moment that had fans wondering what they just witnessed, that was it.

7/10 Chris Jericho Kidnaps Chyna

Chyna and Jericho

Chris Jericho and Chyna found themselves in the middle of one strange rivalry at one point in their careers. The rivalry lead Chris Jericho down a rather dark and obsessive path in which he brought a camera backstage to get a shot of him as he took a hammer to a tied-up Chyna.

The entire segment was bizarre and disturbing as Jericho comes across as completely unhinged. The creepy dark room and the fact that a man was assaulting a woman on WWE television likely won’t have this segment going down in popular history.

6/10 Steve Austin Gets Crucified

Austin is crucified

Steve Austin has been a part of some of the greatest moments in WWE history, let alone Raw history. It turns out that he’s also been a part of some of the most disturbing moments throughout the history of Raw.

One such moment that may have slipped fans’ minds, came when The Undertaker and his followers crucified the Rattlesnake. The image of Austin being raised into the air on The Undertakers cross is a stunning, but disturbing one. Austin’s seriously angry and panicked face only adds to the absolutely unforgettable image.

The Undertaker has had his fair share of wild moments throughout the long history of Monday Night Raw. One of the most disturbing moments comes from an episode of Raw where Paul Bearer is recovering from home and delivering a passionate promo.

A horrific shriek suddenly comes out of nowhere and Paul Bearer’s smug face melts into one of horror as fans saw The Undertaker now in Bearer’s home. The attack gets relatively visceral fast as Undertaker destroys furniture, and the feed of the violence is suddenly cut before fans see the fate of Paul Bearer.

4/10 Hakushi & The Hitman’s Head

A moment that has almost certainly been forgotten by many fans features the likes of Hakushi with a prop head that was made to look like Bret Hart. The purpose of the prop head was to both taunt and send a message to Bret Hart, but most fans were just left confused and disturbed.

The feud was strange, but the matches that came from the men were a treat for fans, so even though Hakushi made the horrifying choice to carry a fake severed head with him, fans still had something to enjoy.

3/10 Orton Kicks Foley Down The Stairs

WWE Randy Orton Glaring At Mick Foley

One of the harder-to-watch Raw moments of all time, watching Randy Orton utterly destroy legends like Mick Foley has always been rough. While many wrestling fans actually point to Randy Orton’s Legend-Killer gimmick as their all-time favorite, there’s no denying that some of his attacks were disturbing.

A backstage brawl is a treat for most wrestling fans, but there was something different about Orton and Foley’s fight. It felt mean-spirited to many. The moment that made it all the more disturbing was when Orton kicked Foley in the head, sending him down a set of stairs.

2/10 Austin's Ambulance Attack

Steve Austin and Bret Hart face to face

Bret Hart and Steve Austin had one of the greatest rivalries in the history of professional wrestling, so the fact that they had one of the most jarring backstage attack segments of all time shouldn’t be shocking.

After being wheeled into an ambulance on Raw, Steve Austin makes a surprise appearance to beat the Hitman down even further. The image of Austin attacking many who had just been placed into an ambulance on a stretcher was likely to stay in fans’ minds for a long time.

1/10 Austin Visits Brian Pillman At Home

Brian Pillman was a unique wrestler, and when he was paired with Steve Austin, it seemed like the absolute best came out of each wrestler. A disturbing, baffling, and often ignored moment came during their iconic rivalry when Brian Pillman pulled out a gun during a heated promo from his home.

Austin then proceeded to break into Pillman’s home only for a chaotic segment to ensue in which Pillman points his gun at Austin before the camera feed cuts out. While the entire segment was one big stunt for ratings, the image of Pillman pointing his gun in the direction of Austin is one of the most disturbing in Raw’s history.
