Is there any feature plan to make one of both compatible so it wil be possible to use one remote again? I realy don't like the commercial view on forcing users to buy new remotes within half a year of purchase...

And no, I personally don't like the base remote icw a smartphone.

Regarding the range though, I dont think most people will see a big difference. If you have open and full line of sight to the drone, both remotes will fly the drone well beyond what most of us are going to want to fly. I have flown out over water and woods for 2-3 miles with both remotes without issue, and I feel that is kinda the limit for me. I just feel nervous getting out that far. I never exceed 390ft in altitude however. 400' is of course the legal limit, and I generally try to stay several feet below that limit at a maximum. My range tests have always been done over water or woods, where not a single soul is around, and the only risk involved really is for me in losing my drone. Where you will notice the transmit power difference is in penetration. The RC Pro will hold stronger signal through tree's and obstacles. In full line of sight, you will struggle to see a difference, even out a couple miles range. The difference in range is not super noticable in my testing, but I have also not tried to fly out 5+ miles, because I just dont feel comfortable getting out that far. I have flown in rural areas where I have tons of tree canopy that blocked line of sight. The RC Pro may do 2 miles out at 200 feet altitude whre the rcn1 would require going up to 350 feet for the same signal strength. This is where you see the difference in transmit power.

Really the RC Pro's just all in one package, extra buttons, great screen and premium feel in the hands is where it exceeds.

Hello there fateofangel. Good day and thank you for reaching out. The DJI RC Pro ( https://www.dji.com/rc-pro?site=brandsite&from=nav ) compared with the DJI Smart Controller ( https://www.dji.com/smart-contro ... ;from=insite_search ), the performance of the CPU and GPU of DJI RC Pro is increased by 4 times and 7 times respectively, with boosted system performance and lower power consumption, offering longer use duration and a smoother control experience. DJI RC Pro also features a comprehensively improved transmission system. It supports the brand-new O3+ transmission with a livestreaming at up to 1080p/60fps and a max transmission range of 15 km. In addition, DJI RC Pro supports screen brightness up to 1,000 nits while the DJI RC ( https://www.dji.com/rc?site=brandsite&from=nav ) supports screen brightness up to 700 nits. The DJI RC Pro supports third-party applications while DJI RC does not support third-party applications. Lastly the DJI RC Pro is equipped with four antennas while the DJI RC is equipped with two antennas ( the same as DJI RC-N1 ). Thank you.

The main reason I want the RC Pro isn't to maximize my purchase but to get the OcuSync 3 that will give a better transmission to the Air 2S over the Smart Controller. That and the RC Pro has nicer controls and seems to be faster.

Am I overthinking this? Should I agressively keep trying to find an RC Pro or just be happy with the Smart Controller and it's not that big of a deal? My Air2 lives in a motorcycle tank bag and I use it for ActiveTrack shots along with aerial photography at events. 50 flights a year at most. I don't think I need RC Pro but I thought if it's free, let's go for it.

So if I open up my 2nd or 3rd combo box and it's still not in there, should I just be happy or go the B&H route?

It was caused by lack of understanding the logic behind a function.
I assumed that a messagebox would block the code.
And it did.
But other events could still be fired and start a new thread.
Which lead to odd behavior (user having to react to some question while the scale was still passing on weights)
I made a simple test program that had a trigger on a barcode scanner read and a messagebox and it was very clear that my assumption was wrong.
So I searched for a way to block events from being fired 'if' but that turned out to be harder than I hoped and while I was looking for a solution, it became clear that you don't 'always' want this.
So I opted for the manual way and added a global variable that I can react on in the method that is called after the event was triggered.
It is manual, since you have to add this in every method that you think it is needed, but that is what I ended up using.
There will be better ways maybe, but I can at least now stop this problem from occurring (so I hope)

What is the difference between DJI Smart Controller and RC Pro?

Compared with the DJI Smart Controller, the performance of the CPU and GPU of DJI RC Pro is increased by 4 times and 7 times respectively, with boosted system performance and lower power consumption, offering longer use duration and a smoother control experience.

What advantages does the DJI RC Pro have in comparison with the DJI RC

Compared with the 1T2R antenna configuration of DJI RC-N1, DJI RC Pro uses a 2T4R configuration that is more resistant to interference and delivers more stable transmission performance in urban areas with signal interference.

What is the difference between the DJI Smart Controller and regular controller?

The RC Pro and Smart Controller have 1,000 cd/m² bright screens, the DJI RC has a screen brightness of 700 cd/m²; while the RC-N1 depends on the brightness of the individual mobile device; The RC Pro, DJI RC and RC-N1 have a transmission range of up to 8km (CE), while the Smart Controller is limited to 6km (CE).
