Know Before You Go

Treats are while supplies last!

  • TRICK OR TREATING: Boo at the Zoo is designed to create special memories for your family, not necessarily to bring home the biggest haul of candy. Kids can expect to visit about a dozen treat stations, collecting one piece of candy at each. Please note, trick-or-treating is complimentary and will be available while supplies last.
  • PLAN FOR THE WEATHER: Boo at the Zoo is rain-or-shine. In the event of rain, some activities may be delayed or canceled.
  • THE SCARE FACTOR: Boo at the Zoo décor includes mostly friendly spooks!

COSTUME GUIDELINES

Be merry, not scary!

While we encourage creativity, we also value safety and good judgement. Please take a moment to read over our latest rules and regulations:

  • Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable, or violent.
  • Costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
  • Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects, or materials that may accidentally strike another guest.
  • Large, full-body inflatable costumes are not allowed. Large inflatable costumes can scare our animals.
  • Adults may wear costumes, but we ask that they be family-friendly and not scary.
    • As this event caters to small children, adults may NOT wear costume masks that cover the face.
    • The Zoo reserves the right to ask adults to remove costume masks.

What is Boo at the Zoo Moncton?

This family friendly Halloween event features decorations throughout the Zoo's 40 acre park and mild, moderate, and scary Halloween venues.

When did Boo at the Zoo stop?

After a 17 season run, the Assiniboine Park Conservancy announced the cancellation of the one-time popular Halloween event in 2013. Due to construction of the Arctic-themed Journey to Churchill exhibit, the exhibit had to be moved to the south-end of the Zoo.
