Does Breeze airlines fly to Ohio?

New low-cost airline Breeze Airways is expanding, adding flights to more than a dozen cities around the country, including a brand-new city in Florida.

The carrier is adding routes from 15 cities across the United States for next year, Breeze shared with Travel + Leisure, bringing its total nonstop routes to 99 between 33 cities in 19 states. As part of its expansion, the airline will add two new cities to its roster: Vero Beach, Fla., and Cincinnati, Ohio.

“Breeze provides fast, efficient, and affordable air service between underserved city pairs,” Tom Doxey, Breeze Airways’ president, said in a statement provided to T+L. “We’re excited to introduce two new cities to our national route network, as we add routes from 15 cities.”

When it comes to Vero Beach, the airline will fly from Hartford, Conn., and from Westchester County, NY, with flights starting at just $79 beginning in February 2023. The airline will also fly from Cincinnati to Charleston and San Francisco with flights starting at just $39 starting in February 2023.

In addition to the new cities, Breeze is adding service to smaller cities across the country — cities that make for a great small-town post-holiday escape. Starting in February, the airline will add several new routes, including from Hartford to Phoenix and to San Bernardino from Las Vegas to San Bernardino and from Phoenix to Richmond.

In March, Breeze will introduce several more routes, including from Charleston to Tulsa and to Huntsville; as well as Orlando to Akron-Canton.

Breeze Airways, which was recently named one of the best domestic airlines in the U.S. by T+L readers, was created by JetBlue founder David Neeleman. The airline first launched last year with 39 routes between 16 cities.

Travelers are given the option of three price bundles: “Nice,” “Nicer,” and “Nicest,” which includes a first class seat on the airline’s Airbus A220 aircraft. The carrier currently flies Embraer 195 e-jets and the A220, and has ordered 80 new Airbus A220-300 aircraft.

Breeze offers a standard economy seat pitch of 30 to 31 inches, depending on the aircraft. The carrier also doesn’t charge change or cancellation fees up to 15 minutes before departure.

Airline to Serve a Total of Five New Markets in 2023: Breeze Airways announced today it will fly to two additional destinations when it launches service at RDU next year.  The low-fare airline will add Jacksonville, FL and Columbus, OH to its lineup in May.

“Breeze’s expansion at RDU is an early holiday present that will benefit all Triangle travelers,” said Michael Landguth, president and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. “We’re excited about adding direct flights to two new destinations we expect will be popular as business routes and with people visiting family and friends.”

Breeze announced in mid-November it will begin service at RDU with direct flights to Hartford, CT; News Orleans, LA; and Providence, RI in February. Breeze’s five routes will all be new destinations for RDU. They will be operated on 118-seat Embraer 190s.

“Breeze always looks for underserved routes where we can add nonstop flights, low fares and our brand of Seriously Nice service,” said Tom Doxey, Breeze Airways’ President. “Today we’re excited to announce more service from Raleigh-Durham before we’ve even flown our first flight from the airport.”

The schedule for the new Breeze flights is:

Columbus, OH: Thursday and Sunday, starting May 18

Jacksonville, FL: Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday, starting May 18

Breeze Airways launched in May 2021 and has quickly expanded across the U.S. by connecting underserved cities with fast, efficient flights.

GREEN, Ohio – Breeze Airways will start flying between the Akron-Canton Airport and Orlando International Airport in March.

The new route will run twice per week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Orlando will be Breeze’s seventh destination from Akron-Canton. The leisure-focused carrier also flies from CAK to Tampa and West Palm Beach in Florida, Las Vegas, Nashville, New Orleans and Charleston, South Carolina.

The timing of the new route is good news for central Florida-focused travelers in Northeast Ohio. Spirit Airlines, which was expected to resume flying to Orlando from the Akron-Canton Airport next month, announced last week that it was pulling out of the airport instead. Last June, the carrier suspended its daily flight from Akron-Canton to Orlando, citing staffing shortages and other operational issues.

Allegiant Air also flies from Akron-Canton to Orlando, although it flies into the much smaller Orlando Sanford International Airport, about 30 miles north of downtown Orlando.

The new Breeze flights will leave Akron-Canton at 10:20 a.m., arriving in Orlando at 12:40 p.m. The return flight departs Orlando at 1:15 p.m., landing at CAK at 3: 35 p.m.

Breeze is kicking off the new route with a promotional fare of $39 one way. The fare sale must be purchased by Monday for travel by May 16. For information: flybreeze.com
