Does eating stir fry help you lose weight?

They are quick, easy and filled with vegetables. There is honestly nothing I love more that enjoying a whole meal of vegetables after a day or two of indulgences and after a weekend of Burns Supper Ceilidh’s, late nights, visiting sick grandparents in hospitals, pub meals and service station food (I ate a lot of carrots and hummous!) I am definitely in need of this dish!

You too may be struggling to get back on tack after the Christmas indulgence or January craziness, and seem to be stuck your ‘Christmas’ stretched appetite. Well this is a perfect dinner to not only fill you up but also give you a boost in the right fat shifting direction! (Plus I will be giving away a free eBook soon on how to get naturally healthy this 2014! So excited!)

Now, I am not one for faddy ‘miracle’ cures for weight loss, I believe in eating whole, natural and real foods and learning to listen to your body. When you do these things you will find extra fat drop off (that’s why I createdNaturally Slim , a way to lose weight and get slim for LIFE!). But I do love cayenne pepper and believe that there are some foods that assist or support weight loss and optimum health.

You can find pout more about the wonders of Cayenne pepper here, but for a quick glance here is an extract from the abstract of a study done in Manchester (source).
Orange = my notes/emphasis.

” There is a fantastic study that was conducted by Manchester Metropolitan University in Manchester, England that is noteworthy. Let me quote from the study’s abstract directly.

“Capsaicinoids are a group of chemicals found in chilli peppers (cayenne pepper), with bioactive properties. The purpose of this study is to systematically review research investigating the potential benefits capsaicinoid compounds may have in relation to weight management. Medical databases were searched and 90 trials found, 20 of which were selected for inclusion, involving 563 participants. Three main areas of potential benefit for weight management were found: (1) increased energy expenditure; (2) increased lipid oxidation and (3) reduced appetite. Trial duration, dosage and sized varied, though trials were generally of high quality with a low risk of bias. It was observed that consumption of capsaicinoids increases energy expenditure by approximately 50 kcal/day, and that this would produce clinically significant levels of weight loss in 1-2 years. It was also observed that regular consumption significantly reduced abdominal adipose tissue levels and reduced appetite and energy intake. The mechanism of action is not presently fully understood, although it is well accepted much of the effects are caused by stimulation of the TRPV1 receptor. While capsaicinoids are not a magic bullet for weight loss, the evidence is that they could play a beneficial role, as part of a weight management program (Whiting, S., 2012, para. 1).”

So cayenne pepper will help you win the battle weight loss (as well as boosting circulation and clearing sinuses) when you are eating in an already healthy way. Winner!
