PAO stands for “period after opening”. You will find the above symbol with 3m, 6m, 9m, 12m etc., somewhere on the product or box. This means that once you have opened your product, it should be used within 3 months, 6 months or 12 months. It’s worth writing the date you opened it on the box or bottle. The Ordinary PAO (period after opening), expiry date & shelf life will vary from product to product. The Ordinary & Deciem Products Expiry DatesThe majority of the Deciem products have PAO, but some of The Ordinary and other Deciem products have expiry dates.

From personal experience, if you purchase copper peptides, I would advise you to use them as soon as possible as we have found they turn black rather than stay the gorgeous blue if you store them for too long. How long does a bottle of The Ordinary last?If you use a 30ml bottle at least once every day, then you´re probably looking around 3/4 months. But if you have numerous products on the go and only use them once or twice a week, you will probably find that you go over the PAO. When it comes to buying masks, particularly the NIOD masques, I recommend purchasing smaller-sized products where possible if you are only going to use them once or twice a week. How long does the ordinary peeling solution last for?12 months upon opening.
Can I use expired ordinary products? You sure can. In fact, according to Daily Vanity, by and large, using expired skincare shouldn't be dangerous in any way. The only thing you might notice is that the product won't be as fresh or as vibrant as it might otherwise have been.
How do I find out when my ordinary expires? For bottled products, it is often printed on the underside of the bottle, just below the label, and sometimes even on the label itself. Note that a printed batch code on the label is not an indicator of a counterfeit product (despite what some online sources say).
Does AHA BHA solution expire?BHA or AHA Exfoliants: 1 year (Does salicylic acid expire? Yes!) Remember: If it smells funky, looks gunky or the texture has changed significantly—definitely toss it out! Watch (or sniff) for any new odours, as smell is one of the first qualities to change when a formula has expired.
