Although it was Woong who first asked Yumi to end their relationship at the end of the first season, there was a reason for him to do so. In the webtoon “Yumi’s Cells,” Woong left Yumi because his company went bankrupt. He had been in financial distress for quite some time. That explains why he had to bargain with Yumi over the price of a used rice cooker. 

When Woong asks Yumi how she is doing, Yumi tells Woong that she is dating Babi. Woong is disappointed, but he chooses not to disturb her. His feelings for Yumi, on the other hand, have not faded, and he reappears in front of her later.
