Far Cry 6 new game plus

Wondering what to do after beating Far Cry 6? The answer depends on how you play.

Does Far Cry 6 have New Game Plus? It’s a normal question to ask when most games give you the option to start again with all your equipment intact, but Far Cry 6 doesn’t take a normal approach to it. Instead of giving you traditional New Game Plus, you get a new mode that changes weekly, with chances to earn special currency and weapons.

Again, no, Far Cry 6 doesn’t have New Game Plus. Once you finish the story, you spawn again in Yara with everything you had when you cleared the last mission, and you can take on any side quests or raid bases you didn’t take care of during the main campaign. Ubisoft could add New Game Plus in a future update, though there’s no indication whether that’s planned so far.

The main draw after beating Far Cry 6 is Insurgency mode.

Postgame Insurgency mode

Insurgency unlocks once Castillo’s reign ends. Dani must fight against a new set of rebels, dissidents from Castillo’s army who refuse to surrender. There’s a new contested area each week, and it’s your job to take it from the rebels in pretty much the same way you did during the main campaign.

The difference is you get better rewards this time. Insurgency always rewards you with Moneda, a rare currency for use in Lola’s Black Market, but you’ll also get other rare items and even new weapons, depending on the mission.

Of course, you won’t have much use for them once you clear every mission and quest in Yara, what with no new game plus. It’s worth leaving a fair few quests unfinished as you move into Esperanza to dethrone Castillo, just so you have a reason to use your new items after the campaign is over.

I only got the game right before christmas, and so far its a good game. Yes New Game+ would be a welcomed feature, but at the same time if you unlocked everything by the end of the story all you're doing is going back thru the story over and over. They need to add a gun for hire system like they had in FC5, and personally increase the distance co op partners can be apart. Instead of getting all your gear and weapons what you have equipped when you select it gets a boost, like more abilities tied to them or even add specific new game rewards like a cache of materials and one weapon of yoru choice. Personally just bring back the guns for hire system while i love the amigos I do miss having a NPC playing with me.

Keep up the work Ubisoft, next stop Russia

@harsha131313 I have about 150Hrs in the game have really done everything except acquiring all the vehicles. Some districts are recaptured by the FND and you have to acquire them again.

Yes, NG+ would be great. Not much motivation to play now. DLCs are garbage.

Please add it Ubisoft, I want to have powerful weapons at the beginning of the games.

@redjoekido Like most games like this, you have to earn better weapons, so you start out with basic weapons at the beginning.

    @flybyme

from what I've seen the goal of a New Game + is to have the choice with :

    1. Starting a New Game + with good weapons and gear previously earned
    2. Simply starting a new game with what the basic game gives to you = Basic New Game File (it's already in the game)

Adding a New Game + should ultimately result in having these 2 options or it will be 100% useless

Note : even with the basic game you can access some "free" weapons and gear from Ubiconnect once you left the first island, New Game + should give the abilty to fully enjoy the game story and even make different story choices without grinding for gear previously earned

@azullfr There is something like that now happening. I have finished the game and have 150 odd hours but every now and then some of the provinces are recaptured by the FND and you have to recapture them again. Yes, you have all the weapons that you have acquired from the first time that you have played.

@flybyme That's just side content, no comparison to the main story.

yes, I already made several Insurgencies, but it's very different from doing the main missions in New Game +with all your previously earned gear.
Note that if if you start a new game, as the game at this time permits you, you won't have the weapons earned in any "Insurgency" in your new game = weapons lost (unless you keep the actual save in a secure place and restart from it)

  • Far Cry 6 new game plus

@flybyme Have you played Far cry 5?

it has a new game plus and it adds to the experience by adding on to previous abilities while letting the player keep their progression (not story wise or GFH)

It also has the ability to launch a new fresh game as well and added a new difficulty which upon completion you would unlock the protagonist's outfit from the proluge of the game

I don't think new game+ would benefit just from "keeping the gear" function. Collecting and exploring is core to the game and with new game+ you would essentially loose this feature.

New game+ would be ok with a little spice added to it:
-Keeping every collected weapon so far and adding like 10-20 new weapons that can be acquired just in new game+
-New skins can be collected for already collected guns from the chests
    -new charms/props
-Relocating chests to different locations (maybe even POI-s as well, but thats a bit time consuming to do)

Keeping in mind that this is somewhat doable/reasonable to expect.
Its not like: having a different storyline for new game+ or any other major change, but still something.

you're right, but in the other side, I would find it very, very frustrating to loose all gear from Inurgencies in a new game+

Note about collecting is core to the game :
yest it is, but not only for weapons :

    1. First account : as soon as I understood that chest were weapons or gun powder, I started to buy all possible weapons to have only gun powder chests (still keeping the need to explore)
    2. Second account : I just started with this second account (Isla Santuario / Dani Level 6) = I just openned and will open the Cryptos chests, I will only buy the basic weapons, keeping chests for Gun Powder later (still keeping the need to explore)

@azullfr I think insurgency weapons not carrying over to simple "new game" (not new game plus!) is simply an oversight. Giving the option to have those available in new game+ as the only addition would be a real shame....
Black market weapons do appear in other saves as well once you buy them, I think this should be the case with the insurgency weapons as well.

And as I have stated numerous times: I Would go as far as black market/insurgency/premium gear/weapon should only be added to the loot pool once acquired, not simply giving it to you forever. It would much more oppurtinity. Like now after reaching level 15 (IIRC) no new weapons are available at shops, but with this approach those weapons/gear can be tiered into the base game. (Only available at higher levels for example)

So Insurgency weapons aren't account tied and don't show up in a new game??? That is great news as always when a new game comes out I love, I always try and collect everything for when the servers are shut down I am a collectionist with OCD... horrible combo hahahaha.

    Sorry too about the BUMP.

  • Far Cry 6 new game plus

@hourlywig4, As I am a collectionist and OCD perfectionist as well and know exactly where you are coming from.

I want to get the season pass but I want to re-immerse myself in the game world again with a new playthrough before diving into DLC, but I don't want to start from scratch. I hope they add a ng+ like they did for Far Cry 5.

@robertemerald ahhh nice to meet someone the same as me hahaha I really wish I could be ine of these people that didn't care about DLC and extra content I have been devestated in years gone by DLC for games I love being gone.

I really hope maybe a little bit later on all the insurgency items are just added into the Black Market weekly cycle...

Also another good idea would be to have the black market cycle using local console time when the servers are shut down so we can still have the black market when the servers are gone and all the items could still be cycled as they are downloaded in updates and game files.

Oh edit a gun I really think would fit perfectly in this game as there were millions made and Im sure surplus left over cheap as chips... the M1 Garand should really be added to the game... with that recognisable metal clang on an empty clip.

I’m pretty sure Ubisoft said they were not able to add NG+ to Valhalla. That it would take too much to make it happen. Just don’t want it to happen with Farcry. I also don’t think it is to much to ask developers to add NG+ at launch instead of a year later. Most people who bought it at launch are ready for a second play through omegle already.

What happens if you start a new game in Far Cry 6?

You can start a new game in Far Cry 6 by selecting New Game from the main menu and choosing a save slot. Your progress for the main campaign and any downloadable content (DLCs) you own is saved to the same save slot.

Does Far Cry 6 have replayability?

After the Far Cry 6 campaign has finished, there is no option to replay it again with all of your current gear and skills. Of course, you can still replay the story, but that will involve restarting the game entirely.

Can you play Far Cry 6 after beating it?

Once you've captured the checkpoint, you'll have access to raid the storage room for guns or supplies and can also request a car or plane, depending on the checkpoint. Clearing more checkpoints will help make traveling around Yara much easier and should be one of the first things you tackle after beating the game.
