Florida high school softball state championship

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In partnership with PFX Athletics, the 2022 Florida High School Softball State Championships will take place this week at Legends Way Ball Fields in Clermont. The softball complex, which is built on the campus of the National Training Center (NTC), will host the state championships for the second straight year, and for fifth time overall in the event’s history.

Built within a final four style format, this multiple day championship event will consist of both semifinal and championship title games in their respective classification. To qualify for their state championship game, teams will compete in a semifinal matchup the day prior.

Of the week’s competing teams, Lakewood Ranch (Bradenton) and Doral Academy in Classes 7A & 6A are the only  teams in the event vying for a repeat championship. Each will be seeking their school’s second overall softball title. Also of note, state record leading Naples High School returns to the championship event and will be seeking their eleventh overall state title, but first since 2008.
