For set up the Geeni smart cameras first, you have to follow the below instructions after that follow the setup process.

Instructions.

  • Know your Wi-Fi network and password.
  • Make sure your mobile device is running iOS® 8 or higher or Android™ 4.1× or higher.
  • Make sure you’re connecting to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. (Geeni can’t connect to 5GHz networks).

Set-up process.

1. Download the Geeni app from App Store or Google Play.

2. Register an account on your Geeni app & log in to the App.

For registration in Geeni App follow the below instructions.

  • After downloading the Geeni app open it & go to the register option.
  • (For registration you must have a mobile number or any email address active as you'll receive verification code)
  • Enter your mobile number with your country code or your email address & after that enter the verification code.
  • Now you need to create a password & confirm it.

  • Log in the app.

3. Plug in the device and reset it.

Open the Geeni app & add your device you can add the devices easy mode & AP mode

4. For easy mode:

  • In the Geeni app, on the top right corner of the Devices screen, click (+). Choose “Video Camera”. and click on Geeni wi-fi camera.
  • Make sure the indicator light on the device is blinking Red, shows that the device is ready to connect. If not, follow instructions to Reset the device so that indicator light should blink red, then press “Yes, It's blinking red”.

  • Enter your Wi-Fi network and password.
  • The Geeni app will try to connect to your device. During this time, the camera will beep, continue blinking Red, and then will turn solid Blue.

5. For back up Ap mode:

  • Make sure the device is blinking red.
  • In the Geeni app, on the top corner of the Devices screen, click (+). Choose “Video Camera ". and select Geeni Wi-Fi Camera & Choose “QR Code” in the top corner.
  • Click Next and enter your Wi-Fi details.

  • Scan the QR Code with the camera.
  • If you heard the camera beep, press “I heard the beep" and it will add your camera.

Before we continue, you need to make sure that nothing is missing from the box. You also need to download the Geeni app and create an account. The general system requirements have to be met before the setup and below is the checklist.

1. Make sure your mobile device is running iOS® 8 or higher or Android™ 5.1× or higher.
2. Wi-Fi router 802.11 b/g/n
3. Make sure you’re connecting to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Geeni Smart Device can’t connect to 5GHz networks.
4. Wireless router encryption method set to WPA2-PSK, authorization type as AES
5. Ensure the router has not reached the maximum connected devices limit (usually 24 devices connected)
6. Ensure the router is not prohibiting devices from connection (such as MAC address filtering)
7. Know your Wi-Fi network and password. Ensure that the password entered in App is correct when adding new device.

Once the above requirements have been met, connect your phone to the 2GHz Wi-Fi and proceed to the setup of your camera. Make sure the camera is plugged in or powered on. Do the QR Mode set-up.

Depending on the model of the camera you have, your camera can be reset by pressing and holding the reset button or by inserting a pin in a reset hole until you hear a prompt tone from the camera. Once you hear the prompt tone, let go of the reset button or the reset hole.

Your camera’s indicator light should start blinking after the tone. This blinking light means your camera is in pairing mode.

Launch the Geeni app and on the top right corner of the screen, tap + or Add Device.

You will see some tiles on the next page with different device names and select Wi-Fi Camera.

You will be routed to a page that shows your Wi-Fi name and underneath it, type in your Wi-Fi password, then hit Next Step.

Confirm "Yes, it is flashing quickly" and tap "Next step"

The QR code will appear on the screen and scan it in front of your camera’s lens. Ensure your phone’s brightness is at max level. You can follow the short video clip for scanning the QR code until another prompt tone is heard. Confirm “I heard a prompt” and hit “Next Step”.

What does the red light mean on Geeni camera?

Geeni Camera Solid Red Light Always On The camera is in pairing mode if the red light is sold and not flashing. The red LED light indicates it is looking for connectivity to a Wi-Fi router. The solid red light means that the camera is looking for a connection and is offline.

What does a blue light mean on a camera?

A flashing blue light on a security camera means you are ready for the WiFi protected setup.
