The God of High School anime may be fluid and beautiful with is adaptation, but boy does it pale in comparison to the original webtoon. Unfortunately, if you pick up after the anime with the manga, you are going to miss quite a bit.

The enchantment is with the action on God of High School, and you miss a lot of action by only watching the anime. While it is best to start at the beginning of the webtoon, if you don’t mind the amount of material they skipped, which made the anime escalate far too suddenly, you can start at Chapter 112 in the webtoon.

Though it’s something many readers don’t yet want to face, The God Of High School is sadly ending within its upcoming chapters. It’s currently unknown how much longer the manhwa has left or exactly what chapter the series will close out on but we do know that the fight featured at the end of chapter 526 is indeed the final fight of the series.

Anime Season 2?

Now if you’ve never read the GOH manhwa or simply watched the anime you may be very confused by all of this. I have one piece of advice for you, go read the manhwa. It may be long but it’s worth every second of reading. Not only is the story amazing the artwork is just beautiful, every page will blow you away.

If you haven’t read the manhwa, instead only watching the first season of the anime, you may be wondering, will there ever be a season 2? Well sadly, the answer to that question is currently, no. There is no official or unofficial news about a season 2 renewal. Yet another reason you should pick up the manhwa instead!

Release Date

With all the anime-related things out of the way let’s get into the details about The God of High School’s return, specifically when to expect new chapters. If you’ve been following the manwha you probably know that chapters were released officially by early Friday.

With the manhwa now over hiatus the series is set to follow the same schedule. Meaning that a new chapter is released every Friday!

Synopsis

Mori Jin is a very not so normal high school student. On top of this he is also a Taekwondo specialist who has entered The God of High School. A high schoolers only fighting tournament that promises the winner one thing they want. What began as a competition to seek out the best high school fighter soon reveals itself to be part of a much greater plot. One that goes beyond Mori Jin’s wildest imagination.

The God of High School manga’s ending is on the horizon. The Korean comic, or manhwa, has officially been confirmed to be nearing the final battle of its final story arc.

What’s a manhwa, you might ask? Similar to how manga is the name for Japanese comics, manhwa is the South Korean word for comic books.

At 28 years old, creator Park debuted the GOHS Webtoon in Naver Webtoon in April 2011. New chapters (which are called “episodes”) are released online weekly on the Naver Webtoon platform.

The official English translation is released Thursdays on Line Webtoons. The English The God of High School Webtoon is essentially free since no subscription service is required to read it.

Series creator YongJe Park made the announcement at the end of The God of Highschool Chapter 526. The comic is divided up into six major story arcs and the final arc, A Battle With The Gods, starting with Chapter 308.

The first two story arcs were adapted into an anime by animation Studio MAPPA. Anime fans are eagerly awaiting any news of The God of High School Season 2 anime TV series.

It’s currently unknown what will be the final chapter of the manhwa series. But the creator says that he needs to take a break before the end.

Warning: The following contains spoilers for the Webtoon since the author briefly describes the final battle.

YongJe Park explained that as he turned to drawing the final battle between Mori Jin and Tathagata he felt that he needed to prepare himself, as well. Like many comic creators, his health has suffered from the demanding schedule.

As such, Park announced a brief The God of Highschool hiatus so he could get ready for creating the ending.

“I’m sorry to my readers for the uneven episode [chapter] lengths and delayed uploads. I’ve been physically and mentally exhausted lately,” Park explained. “I didn’t think it would be right for Mori Jin, Mubong Park, and all you readers to draw the final fight of The God of High School in this state. I’m afraid that forcing myself to continue the series right now might ruin the ending. I need to take some time to prepare myself physically and mentally to complete The God of High School. I ask for your patience and understanding until then.”

The God of High School Chapter 527 release date

Unfortunately, creator Park did not give us a hint about the length of the hiatus. Since he’s dealing with a health problem it could be several weeks or it could be months.

For example, the Tower of God hiatus was originally supposed to be short but then the creator realized his health problems were worse than he thought so the manhwa was on break for almost a year.

After the anime ends u should start at chp 80. But I highly recommend u start from chp 42, the Hide and Seek Arc. The anime skipped and changed a lot, which consequently changed the sub narrative of the entire story. U will definitely get a diff experience after reading from chp 42.
