What do you think is the better purchase? In one corner we have the Hoover smartwash pet carpet cleaner which is on sale on walmart.com for a good price of $139 plus tax here:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hoover-Smartwash-Pet-Carpet-Cleaner-Machine-FH53010/889683126

In the other corner we have the Bissel Big Green machine for $329.59 plus tax with coupon code GREENMONDAY21 here:

Right now I only have an 850 square foot apartment but could end up with a 1500-2000 square foot house at some point. Which is going to have the best durability? They both have fairly strong motors and seem to clean nearly equally well. I'm skeptical with the way companies build products today that the Bissel won't last any longer than the Hoover before something breaks, that the Bissel would just be a bit more convenient with it's 1.75 gallon tank, but it would also take up more storage space and weighs 40 pounds. Anyone have experience with these?

I'm leaning towards the hoover because it's $190 less and takes up less space. It also has a more substantial discount off it's MSRP. Plus I already ordered the hoover before I found the Bissel Big Green was on sale... but I can return it to any wal-mart unopened for a refund. I've heard you should run plain hot water in these after use to prevent soap residue from clogging things up also.

The nearest authorized Bissel service center if something does go wrong is 160 miles away. (Minneapolis area and Omaha area) The Hoover I would consider disposable if something broke.
