Prepare to see 25 colorful hot air balloons rise into the Anderson sky. Traditionally, there are around five scheduled flights throughout the weekend. Another highlight of the festival is a magical balloon glow, usually held on Saturday night between 5 pm and 9 pm. The balloon glow makes for a particularly charming atmosphere and perfect evening snapshots. Besides balloons, the celebration features a variety of food and retail vendors and lots of fun activities for the whole family. Started by an enthusiastic group of balloonist, this is a fun and interactive festival that features hot air balloons with pay rides available as well as tether rides. There will be food vendors as well as children's activities and a local music stage. The event is also about educating the public about ballooning with a balloon discovery center there you will learn everything from the history to how a balloon operates. Exit 19 on interstate I 85 then take Clemson boulevard to Martin Luther king boulevard the field is located on the left Mission Statement The purposes of the corporation are to educate the general public about hot air balloons and other air sport related activities, to sponsor and conduct various events and festivals related to hot air balloons and other air sport related activities for the benefit of the greater Anderson County area, and to engage in such other activities as are related to and/or ancillary to such purposes. This corporation shall be organized and operated exclusively for the charitable, recreational and educational purposes described above. No part of any net earnings shall inure to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual, and no substantial part of the activities of this corporation shall be for carrying on propaganda, or otherwise attempting to influence legislation and this corporation shall not participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office. This corporation shall irrevocably dedicate its assets to charitable, recreational and educational activities.
