The closest logical explanation as to why Shanks would stop the war to me is that so Akainu and the rest of the Marines wouldn’t kill Luffy , but then again at the time why would Shanks know that Luffy was in the war to begin with ? As far as i know everyone found out that Luffy was in the war after it ended , and i don’t see why he would stop the war for the Whitebeard Pirates Fate because of the terms they were on before when Shanks told Whitebeard to stop Ace from attacking Blackbeard and they clashed.
