Hey guys, I'm currently grinding coins for Prince K.! I've roughly analyzed the methods I mainly use to pile up some cons. I can reliably get up to 50000 coins/hour with them. Here they are:
1: collecting 3000 coins and doubling up with ads (using speed up hover boards, collecting more is 3000 inefficient, since every coin after 3000 wouldn't get doubled up)
6800 coins/run (6000 coins + 2* 400 coins from mystery boxes)
8 minutes/run (7 minutes/run + 2 * 30 second ad)
6800 coins/8 minutes = about 850 coins/minute
doing this while farmlng Super Mystery Boxes on Fabulous Friday or Wordy Weekends and by completing missions will be a little more efficient
2: watching daily videos (on average 400 coins per ad)
400 coins/30 second ad = about 800 coins/minute
doubling up every box, that contains more than 800 coins will save you an ad
possibly even slightly more efficient, since some ads are shorter than 30 seconds
3: spending coins on mystery boxes on Terrific Tuesday
see u/Dr8cul 's post for this one: //www.reddit.com/r/subwaysurfers/comments/cmz1y5/is_it_possible_and_worth_hunting_the_jackpot/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app
most efficient method, since one jackpot funds the next one, faster if all character tokens are already obtained
Conclusion: use method 1 for normal play, method 2 while being on the toilet, waiting for something, etc., method 3 is for Tuesdays
Edit 1: analyzed the methods with some rough numbers, i.e. did some runs, where I collected 3000 coins and calculated the average time, also I watched some daily videos and bought some Mystery Boxes and calculated the average coins dropped
Edit 2: linked to u/Dr8culs post on method 3, formatting
Edit 3: updated method 3, added conclusion

Trivia
- If players are in need of coins, the Coin Magnet will help collect all the coins in all three lanes (for a limited time), making it a very useful power-up in collecting them.
- The Jetpack is also good in collecting coins as they will appear in the air when flying, while the Super Sneakers help collect coins under them while jumping. The Power Jumper gives players three lines of coins when jumping high in the sky.
- Coins appear in 3 different types of trails, a normal straight trail, an arch trail (requires the player to jump) and a diagonal trail (requires the player to switch lanes).
- Other ways of getting coins are buying them with in-app purchases (using real money) or when the player's Facebook/Game Center friend plays the game and had 25 runs.
- Coins can also increase players' run score, which makes them essential in getting
highscores.
- The points gained from coins are counted in the following equation:
- number of coins x score multiplier x 2.
- A simpler way to look at it: each coin is worth 54 points. If they only grab one coin in a run, then at the end of it they'll get 54 points added to your score. Meanwhile the score multiplier is at work boosting their score while you run.
- The points gained from coins are counted in the following equation:
- So far, all limited characters that can be unlocked by coins cost
95,000and limited hoverboards cost 50,000(except Bamboo, costing20,000).
- Festive Jake is the latest character that cost coins.
- There are no 2021 characters that cost coins.
- On April 1, 2022, some coins collected by the player were different, because of April Fools Day. They had the appearance of bunny coins.
