To move around on Apple TV, use the remote to do any of the following:
Siri Remote (2nd generation): Press up, down, left or right on the clickpad ring or swipe up, down, left or right on the clickpad.
Siri Remote (1st generation): Tap or swipe up, down, left or right on the touch surface.
On-screen, a highlighted app or item expands slightly.
When you highlight an app in the top row of the Home Screen, a preview of its content (movies, TV shows, music videos or memories, for example) plays in the background (if the app supports content previews). Follow the on-screen instructions to access controls for playing in full screen, getting more information and browsing additional previews.
You can move rapidly forward or backward through video in several ways. During playback, use the smart TV or device remote to do any of the following:
Skip backward or forward 10 seconds: Press the left or right button to skip backward or forward. Press again to skip another 10 seconds.
Rewind or fast-forward continuously: Press and hold the left or right button to rewind or fast forward, or press either button repeatedly to cycle through rewind or fast-forward speed options (2x, 3x, 4x). Press the center or play button to resume playback.
With SharePlay, everyone can watch movies and TV shows in sync on Apple TV.

Start a SharePlay session from your iPhone or iPad
- On your iPhone or iPad, start a FaceTime call.
- Swipe up from the bottom edge of the FaceTime call, then open a video streaming app that supports SharePlay.
- Choose a movie or TV show, and press play.
- On your Apple TV Remote, press and hold TV/Control Center to open Control Center on Apple TV.
- At the top of Control Center, select your user. If you're using someone else's Apple TV or if you can't select your user for a different reason, use AirPlay to stream video to your Apple TV.
- Select SharePlay .
- Select Start on Apple TV. Confirm on your iPhone or iPad.
Playback controls are shared by everyone watching, so anyone can play, pause, rewind, or fast forward. Changing settings like closed captioning and volume will affect your device only.

- On your iPhone or iPad, start a FaceTime call.

- You'll get a notification on Apple TV asking if you want to SharePlay your content. Select SharePlay, then use your iPhone or iPad to confirm.
