There are eight different types of Collectibles in Lost Ark and they can be accessed through the Adventure tab in the menu or the default keybind, ‘Alt + L’. Collectibles are a big portion of the game’s horizontal content. Oftentimes horizontal content in games provide additional options, tools, and cosmetics for players, but not necessarily direct character strength. For the most part this is true in Lost Ark as well. However, there are some rewards, such as Skill Point Potions and Runes that greatly increase a character’s power. These can be incredibly important for smoothing out a class’s rotation and unlocking its potential. This makes certain collectibles extremely necessary for progressing in the end game. Let’s take a look at the most important ones.

Giants’ Hearts

One of the more important Collectibles due to having four Skill Point Potions and an Epic Focus Rune. Skill Points are incredibly important for increasing a character’s strength as it allows for greater Skill Point allocation. The Skill Point Potions are locked behind collecting four, six, 10, and 12 Giants’ Hearts. Focus Runes are extremely useful for intensive Mana users, like Wardancers, to smooth out rotation. The Focus Rune is unlocked after getting thirteen Giants’ Hearts. There are also two Masterpieces available at nine and 11 Giants’ Hearts. Giants’ Hearts rewards must be collected at Wisdom Isle by talking to Minerva. Here are where to get all 15 Giants’ Hearts:

  • 1st Giant’s Heart: Finish the quest chain ‘Reaching a Crossroads’ in Mokoko Village.
  • 2nd Giant’s Heart: Reach Friendly with Beatrice (Trixion).
  • 3rd Giant’s Heart: Reach Trusted with Sasha (Arthetine).
  • 4th Giant’s Heart: Random drop from the Field Boss, Tarsila (Lake Eternity).
  • 5th Giant’s Heart: Exchange for 3,300 Gienah’s Coins at Blackfang’s Den.
  • 6th Giant’s Heart: Exchange for 33,000 Pirate Coins at Atlas.
  • 7th Giant’s Heart: Complete Una’s Task ‘Taking On Tooki’ 30 times.
  • 8th Giant’s Heart: Exchange for 4,000 Gienah’s Coins at Freedom Island.
  • 9th Giant’s Heart: Reach Trusted with Calvasus (Hypnos’s Eyes).
  • 10th Giant’s Heart: Complete Floor 35 of Shadespire.
  • 11th Giant’s Heart: Complete Una’s Task ‘Ruffians in the Ground’ 15 times.
  • 12th Giant’s Heart: Complete ‘Spirit with a Heart’ at Shadowmoon Market.
  • 13th Giant’s Heart: Complete floor 35 of Fatespire.
  • 14th Giant’s Heart: Reach Trusted with Nineveh (Whispering Islet).
  • 15th Giant’s Heart: Complete ‘15th Heart’, a quest received after obtaining the 14th Heart.

To receive the quest ‘Spirit with a Heart’ for the 12th Giant’s Heart, the player must first complete a set of prerequisites. This includes five days of the Una’s Task ‘Super Secret Materials for a Super Secret Project’ and the quests ‘Thank You Chipmunk’ and ‘Click! Lights and Camera’. The two quests require many of the island's quests to be completed first before they become available. The player must also complete the co-op quest ‘Shadowmoon Dance’ at least once, which is on a 30-minute spawn timer. Finally, players must complete the following five achievements:

  • Red Candy: Take pictures of 100 red spirits.
  • Blue Candy: Take pictures of 100 blue spirits.
  • Green Candy: Take pictures of 100 green spirits.
  • I’m This Area’s Pathfinder: Take pictures of 100 gold spirits.
  • A Bird Hears the Words of the Day, The Mice Hears The Words of the Night: Complete a 4 part Hidden Story.

Collecting 13 Giants’ Hearts may take quite some time, but players are encouraged to work on them. Most of the Giants’ Hearts require very little investment per day, but it's suggested to start them early as some of them are time gated.

Omnium Stars

Omnium Stars is another important Collectible that players should pay attention to, because of how extremely valuable the rewards are. There are two Greater Skill Point Potions, an Epic Overwhelm Rune, a Legendary Wealth Rune, and a Legendary Protection Rune. Omnium Star rewards can be collected from Albion in Nia Village, Punika. Although there are only seven Omnium Stars to Collect, this Collectible can be quite frustrating to progress due to RNG. Here is where to get all seven Omnium Stars:

  • Omnium Star 1: The first star can be obtained by completing the quest ‘Whispering Star’. To get to this quest, players must first finish the Punika Main Story before starting the quest chain, ‘Where Memories Begin’ with Kala. This will eventually lead to ‘A Trace of Light’ from Nia, which starts the chain for ‘Whispering Star’.
  • Omnium Star 2: Complete Una’s Tasks, ‘Pond of Purification’ seven times, followed by its subsequent task ‘Madness Piles on the Altar’ for an additional 14 days. These are unavailable until the Punika Main Story is completed.
  • Omnium Star 3: Reach Trusted with Nia (Punika).
  • Omnium Star 4: Exchange 8,016 Sun Coins at Punika’s Spearfish Hunting Guild Vessel.
  • Omnium Star 5: Random drop from Field Boss, Moake (Tikatika Colony).
  • Omnium Star 6: Random drop from killing Stella in Garden of Despair on Anguished Isle. After completing the island’s starting quest chain, players may obtain one Garden of Despair Key from the daily quest ‘May They Find Peace’ every day.
  • Omnium Star 7: Random drop from killing the last boss in either normal or hard mode Chaos Line.

With a total of 12 Skill Points to obtain, Omnium Stars should definitely be a top priority for players. The first Greater Skill Point Potion only requires two Stars, so players can aim for the easy ones first, such as Omnium Star 1 and 4. Sun Coins can be farmed by doing daily Adventure Islands, Sailing Co-ops, and sailing Gate events. Many of the ongoing Lost Ark Events also contain Sailing Coin Chests in their shop exchange, so be sure to look out for those as well. If players have a lot of Rapport Gifts available, it is also possible to go for Omnium Star 3 early too. For more information on Rapport, check out our guide here.

Ignea Tokens

Ignea Tokens are tied to the Adventurer’s Tome and players will receive one each time they reach 100% with a Continent. Progressing this Collectible is a marathon, and it is notoriously gated by Rapport and, for certain Continents, Cooking. The most notable rewards for Ignea Tokens include an Epic Purify Rune, a Greater Skill Point Potion, a Bifrost Key, and a Delain Armen Card. The Purify Rune is incredibly useful for certain encounters like Gate 1 of Valtan and Gate 2 of Vykas; especially if your party has no classes that can cleanse.

While unrelated to character strength, the Bifrost Key is a huge quality of life item, allowing you to set an additional teleport point. Ignea Token rewards can be collected in any major city, marked by the Ignea symbol.

Alongside the rewards from the Ignea Tokens themselves, players should also keep note of the rewards they can obtain from progressing through the Adventurer’s Tome. Some of the Continents reward Skill Point Potions such as East Luterra, North Vern, Shushire, and Rohendel, while Punika offers a Greater Skill Point Potion. East Luterra also offers a Thirain Card at 80% completion. Many of these Continents include rewards for other Collectibles such as Masterpieces and Secret Maps.

In addition, certain Continents also reward Invitations, which are quests that lead to specific Merchants becoming available to visit a player’s Stronghold. Some of these Merchants sell Runes, Secret Maps, and Masterpieces. One of the most important Merchants to aim for is Marte, who becomes available after reaching 70% with South Vern. Marte has a chance to sell a Legendary Conviction Rune and a Legendary Judgment Rune. This Rune combination is one of the most powerful in the game and is used by many classes. Note that if another player has Marte available as a Merchant, it is possible to purchase Conviction or Judgment by visiting their Stronghold. However, the Runes are limited to one guest player only.

Ignea Tokens may take quite a while to collect, depending on how diligent and lucky the player is. Players that tackle this Collectible should pace themselves and work on it a little bit each day. It is not necessary to collect all the Tokens as everything past the 10th are cosmetics. The eighth Token, which rewards the Greater Skill Point Potion, should be the target for most players.

It is recommended to start with the ‘easier’ Continents that have relatively lower Rapport requirements and effortlessly obtainable Cooking. Some of the easier Continents include Rethramis, Yudia, West Luterra, Tortoyk, Anikka, and Shushire. Certain places like Yorn, Feiton, or Punika should be left until later due to higher Rapport requirements or incredibly horrendous RNG for Cooking.

Masterpieces

There are 52 Masterpieces in the game, and they come from a wide variety of sources. They can come from Rapport, Adventurer’s Tome, Stronghold Merchants, Quests, Una’s Task Reputations, Cube, Boss Rush, Secret Dungeons, NPC Exchange, and other Collectibles. Players can click on ‘Collection Status’ in the bottom right corner to view the source of each Masterpiece.

The most notable rewards include an Island Soul at 10 Masterpieces, an Epic Conviction Rune at 24, a Wei Card at 36, a Legendary Judgment Rune at 44, and a Legendary Card Pack at 50. This is the only other way to get a Legendary Judgment Rune if one is unable to obtain it from Marte in the Stronghold. Quite a bit of Gold can also be obtained as rewards at 20, 30, 34, 38, and 52 Masterpieces.

Many of the Masterpieces will come naturally from just playing the game. It is recommended to start working early on the time gated ones like Una’s Tasks and Rapport. For ones that come from Secret Dungeons, it is best to enter with a full party of four, through shared Secret Maps, to increase the chances of it dropping. The ones exchanged with Pirate and Sailing Coins are also pretty straightforward, however it is advised to prioritize spending coins on Giants’ Hearts first.

Island Souls

The most important reward for this Collectible is a Greater Skill Point Potion at 20 Island Souls. The only other notable rewards are Masterpieces at 30, 55, 75 Souls and Secret Maps at 60, 85, as well as an Epic Protection Rune at 50. Island Souls come from a wide variety of sources, with many of them locked behind different RNGs. Many of these Souls can be quite frustrating to go after, so it is recommended to just aim for 20 Souls for the Potion. The Masterpieces and Secret Maps may not be worth the effort considering the amounts required. Island Soul rewards can be collected on Opher, The Lonely Island.

Some Island Souls are quite simple to get, so players should be able to reach 20 relatively easily. Players should check out Maxroll’s guide to see the source of all the Souls and which they can collect with the least amount of RNG. Usually, ones gained from quest chains and Rapport are relatively simple to obtain.

Sea Bounties

Sea Bounties are gained from reaching the destinations hinted on the Secret Maps and the rewards are collected at Peyto. They have a lower priority than the above-mentioned Collectibles because most of the valuable rewards are towards the end and most are difficult to acquire. Sea Bounties provide quite a bit of silver, but most importantly rewards a Legendary Focus Rune at 42 Sea Bounties. This can be incredibly hard to reach as many Secret Maps are time gated, expensive, or locked behind multiple layers of RNG.

Players can actually obtain another Legendary Focus Rune from the Chaos Line exchange shop in South Vern, for 1500 Intact Bloodmagick Stone. There is no need for players to stress about Sea Bounties as they are not losing out on much.

As a side note, Tears of the Abyss are used to buy Relic rarity Crew for players’ ships. Fortunately, you can buy these Tears from the Spearfish Hunting Guild Vessel outside Punika’s dock, for 8,016 Sun Coins.

Mokoko Seeds and World Tree Leaves

These two Collectibles provide very little value and should not be a priority for players looking to increase character power. Mokoko Seeds provide two Masterpieces at 950 and 1150 seeds. The Seeds are scattered throughout the world and are, for the most part, very simple to collect. A few of these can be a bit more tedious, with certain conditions required before they can be collected. Some may require high Virtue Stats and some may require Cooking to obtain. It is best to leave Mokoko Seeds until later, when the Masterpieces are needed, or when the players have extra time.

World Tree Leaves provide one Masterpiece at 24 Leaves. The Leaves are random drops from all the Trade Skills, meaning the entirety of this Collectible is up to chance. It is not worth the effort to farm these unless the player absolutely needs that one Masterpiece.

Conclusion

Horizontal content can often be seen as optional and, for the most part, that is true. However, Lost Ark locks quite a bit of character power behind some of this content. Missing Skill Points and Runes may cause some classes to feel incomplete and clunky. Although it may seem like too much ‘min-maxing’ for some players, working on Collectibles is still highly encouraged. Of course, as with any game, players should take it at their own pace. A little bit of progress each day goes a long way.
