How do you make a moderator in Discord mobile?

This wikiHow teaches you how to make someone a Discord chat moderator when you’re using an Android. To do this, create a new role with special moderator permissions, then assign that role to a member you trust.

   Open Discord. It’s the light blue icon with a white game controller on your home screen. If you don’t see it, you’ll find it in the app drawer.

   • If you’re not already signed in to Discord, sign in now.
   • You must be a server admin to create a moderator role.

   Select a server. Servers are represented by round icons along the left side of the screen. Tap the icon for the server on which you want to add a moderator.

   Scroll down and tap Roles. It’s under the "User Management" header.

   Tap +. It’s in the blue circle near the bottom of the screen. This opens a new window that allows you to create a new role.

   Type a name for the new role. To start typing, tap New Role under the "Role Name" header. Since you’re adding a moderator role, you may want to call it something like Moderator, Mod, etc.

   Tap the disk icon. It’s in a blue circle at the bottom-right corner of the screen. This saves your work.

    Tap Role Color to select a color. This just makes the role stand out in your settings, which is helpful if you wind up adding a bunch of roles. Once you tap the color you want, tap Done to return to the Role Settings screen.

    Set general permissions for this role. Scroll down to the "General Permissions" section to view your options, then tap the permissions you want to add to this role.

    • Since you’re creating a moderator role, you’ll likely want to select "Kick Members" and "Ban Members." This allows the moderator to kick or ban members from text or voice channels.
    • A check mark will appear next to each selected permission.

    Set permissions for text channels. Scroll down to the Text Permissions section, then tap each permission you want to add to this role.

    • It is recommended that moderators have permission to "Manage Messages," as this makes it possible to delete abusive messages from the chat. This also allows moderators to pin messages to the top of the chat.

    Set permissions for voice channels. Scroll down to Voice Permissions to adjust permissions specific to voice chatting.

    • For a moderator role, you’ll usually want to enable "Mute Members," "Deafen Members," and "Move Members."
    • "Connect," "Speak," and "Use Voice Activity" are already enabled for everyone.

    Tap the back button twice to reach the Server Settings screen. Now that you’ve created your moderator role, you can assign it to any user on the server.

   Go to the Server Settings screen. If you’re not already there, tap a server on the left side of the Discord home screen, tap the server’s name at the top of the screen, then tap Server Settings.

   Tap the name of your new moderator. If you have a lot of members, you can use the search box at the top of the screen to find them by name.

   Select the role you just created. You’ll find it under the "Roles" heading. When it’s selected, a check mark will appear to the right of its name. This means the moderator role is now assigned to this member. Your new moderator can start moderating channels on the server immediately.

  To do this on iPad, you do these steps: Step 1, go on to your group and click the 3 dots. Step 2, click server settings. Step 3, scroll down to members and click it then click the member. Step 4, go to the first button and click the first button that says admin or mod.
