On S9+ and a few models before the ability to Mark Unread and sms message so you can remind yourself of its contents or actions you need to do from it seems to not exist, you have to send it to yourself again and then remember not to open it!! It used to exists on earlier Android systems, any ideas as to how to do this...

There's no option like that.
One thing you can do is set a reminder.
Long press on a message and the option is there.09-03-2018 06:15 PM

When are we able to get a software update, that will allow us to unread a text message. Like the option we have with emails.
That way messages arnt missed if we read them and can't reply right away. It will still show up as an unread message with the icon next to it.
An SMS is a text message which can be sent to other mobile phones. Your mobile phone can send and receive SMS as soon as you've inserted your SIM. If this isn't the case, you can set up your mobile phone for SMS manually.Set up your mobile phone for SMS
