Can I use an antiquing wax with your project?

Because our paint is self-sealing, a wax based product will just sit on top of it and not absorb into it as that product intends. That means it will never cure and may come off. We would suggest our Antiquing Gels as a way to antique your piece if that look is desired. Its available is in 4 colors: Weathered Wood (Greige), White Wash (white), Vintage Brown (tea stained brown) and Oil Rubbed Black (warm black). We also have a line of metallic antiquing gels coming soon!

My piece has been previously painted. Can I still use ALL-IN-ONE Paint?

Yes you can! As long as your existing finish is holding on good and not full of texture, you can Just Clean & Paint! If your existing finish is peeling, chipping or loose, you'll want to sand down those areas until all loose/peeling paint is removed and smooth. If your existing paint finish is full of texture or brush marks, ALL-IN-ONE Paint will settle into that texture. If you would prefer a smooth finish, you'll want to sand that texture down smooth. You do not need to sand to bare wood.

Can this paint be used in a sprayer?

We get a lot of questions and comments about sprayers. While we do not recommend the use of sprayers, a lot of people do choose to use them and are successful in doing so. If this is the method you choose, please closely follow the manufacturer's ratio instructions on the model that you purchase.

Does this paint cover work grain?

Paint in general does not cover risen wood grain. However, it can minimize it. If you need to fully get rid of it, you're going to want to use a product called a grain filler that you can find online. However, I would encourage you to paint a door with just paint and see if you're happy with the results before you go through the added steps of filling in the grain.

What topcoat do I use for my counters?

We recommend our Satin Coat for use over patterned countertops. This is to create wear layers since people typically clean their counters multiple times a day with harsh cleaners. You can never touchup a pattern you've paintd onto your countertops without it showing. Wear layers give you something to wear away over time that you can replace.

Can you use the same brush to apply the deglosser?

Yes, you can. You'll need to wash it with soap & water and allow it to dry before painting with it. That's why its always handy to keep a couple of brushes on hand. In order to avoid having to wait for dry time, we recommend Scotch Brite sponges. Apply deglosser with the soft, yellow side and scrub with the green side!

Should I paint with my doors on or off?

This is a personal preference. We find it easier to paint with the doors on and you can still get a GREAT finish with ALL-IN-ONE Paint. If you remove the doors, you'll need to keep up with what hinge goes in what spot, what door goes where, etc. That can get tricky when you're painting both sides of the doors.

My leather (bonded or faux leather) is peeling or flaking? How do I fix?

If you have bonded leather that is peeling, your most permanent and cheapest fix is to peel it all off. You can use a heat gun to make the process easier. Peel it all off and then just paint the underlying fabric with our paint. It will feel like leather/vinyl when you're done. If your bonded leather is flaking, trim and/or sand it smooth to remove all of the loose. Then apply a coat of Bond-N-Flex to seal everything. Watch the video below for some tips before you get started!
