DJ Envy and his wife, Gia Casey recently sat down to discuss their upcoming book in which the pair talks about their relationship and cheating scandal.

In a recent interview, the pair sat down together and opened up about their relationship while shedding light on what their book would be about. Both Gia and DJ Envy did not hesitate to be up close and personal with the fans.

The two also opened up about how they managed to deal with their relationship problems while stating the book was written with the aim of helping others who might be facing a similar problem.

Who is DJ Envy’s wife?

Gia is an author and a businesswoman. She has been promoting her upcoming book Real Life, Real Love in which she details her relationship problems and how they managed to overcome them.

Apart from being a writer, Gia also runs a YouTube channel called The Cassey Crew in which she sits down with different guests as they engage in some tough conversations such as cheating, relationships, and others.

What we know about Gia and DJ Envy’s relationship

Gia and DJ Envy have been together for a long time as the pair has known each other since they were in High School. Their relationship soon led to marriage as they walked down the aisle in 2001.

Since then, they have welcomed six children and have been living a beautiful life. However, their relationship did face some problems in 2012 when it was revealed that DJ Envy had cheated on her.

He came forward and apologized to her and the couple worked on their marriage after.

Everything we know about their upcoming book

With the couple having been together for more than a decade and having faced a lot of ups and downs, Gia decided to pen down her thoughts in the hope of helping another couple who might be facing a similar situation.

In an interview with The Shade Room, Gia revealed the book would tackle the cheating scandal, their relationship, intimacy, among other things. Talking about why she forgave him, Gia said: “I have to accept him, accept what he did and move forward in a positive way where we’re both nurtured. Just because you have the ability to abuse somebody, doesn’t mean you should take that ability. Doesn’t mean that you should exploit that. Once I learned better, I was responsible to do better.”

Celebrity relationships are tricky to navigate, but there are some who survive the storms. One of those couples is The Breakfast Club co-host DJ Envy, and his longtime wife Gia Casey. The couple have been married for 20 years. But their marriage was nearly ruined by Envy’s infidelity. Casey considered divorce. But a failed attempted suicide by her husband turned things around. 

Gia Casey tricked DJ Envy into confessing about his infidelity

Casey never imagined her husband would be unfaithful because he continued to be very attentive to her. But a chance Google search of her husband’s name changed everything. The mother of six spoke about the moment she suspected Envy was unfaithful in an episode of the OWN docuseries Behind Every Man. She says she only searched his name because she wanted to see photos of a recent photoshoot Envy did.

“I googled his name, and the pictures didn’t pop up, but a blog popped up, and when I clicked on the blog, I saw a conversation, and one of the girls said to the other girl, ‘Well that’s why you’re with DJ Envy, and his wife sits at home clueless,’” Casey said. 

She confronted Envy with the blog post and initially lied. But she says she told him that if he told the truth, they could work on things. Once he confirmed the affair, she threatened divorce. Things got so bad at home that Envy went live on-air to apologize to Casey. Casey says the on-air apology only made it worse.

Casey and Envy have been together since they were 15 and 16 years old. He says he never considered cheating but grew up seeing the men around him engage in such behaviors. Therefore once he committed adultery, he didn’t think it was that grave of a sin.

In a recent interview with Fox Soul’s Kitchen Talk, Envy said the way he arranged his lifestyle made it a perfect fit for him to cheat. He’s previously opened up about being grossly insecure and moving his wife to the suburbs so that she could be away from the rest of the world for fear that she’d leave him. Casey was also a stay-at-home mom, something Envy preferred for her to be.

“If you think about it, I lived in a town deep out in Jersey, she was focused on the kids, she didn’t have any friends in the industry, so you think, ‘Alright, you’re good.’ But, it didn’t happen that way,” he told the hosts.

The radio show host says he tried to end his life amid his marital troubles

Envy quickly learned that Casey was serious when she meant divorce. In one of their podcast episodes, she admitted she even cancelled Christmas and they were sleeping in separate rooms. He found it hard to focus on anything outside of home. 

“I was f—–d up, I couldn’t go to work, couldn’t DJ parties, couldn’t concentrate, couldn’t sleep, wasn’t focused…in between breaks on The Breakfast Club, I’d be laying down,” he told Kitchen Talk. “Not only am I about to lose my best friend, and she’s telling me ‘It’s over, it’s a wrap, it’s done – we can co-parent these kids but other than that, it’s a wrap’…

But Envy wanted to fight for his family. When he realized Casey wasn’t budging on the divorce, he tried to end his own life.

“Now you’re imagining somebody else raising your kids. Imagine somebody else in that house with your kids, in that house with your wife, I couldn’t imagine that. So, I felt like me not being here would be better for my family than me being here…I was at my house, in the garage with all the cars on like, ‘F–k it, it’s over’” he says of trying to take his own life by leaving the car gas on. 

Thankfully, Casey rushed to save him, called the ambulance, and stayed by his side through his recovery. Through therapy, the couple decided to save their marriage.

Since overcoming their own marital trouble, the couple have had three more children. Now, they share their story to help other couples via their podcast The Casey Crew. Casey and Envy also have a new book, Real Life, Real Love: Life Lessons on Joy, Pain & the Magic That Holds Us Together.
