Is a star is born appropriate for a 11 year old?A Star is Born is an appropriate movie for SOME kids, but certainly not all of them. The MPAA's R-rating is due to “language throughout, some sexuality/nudity and substance abuse.” Yes, you will hear plenty of salty words and there's no shortage of F-bombs.
What certificate is a star is born?The film is rated M – “unrestricted, suitable for 16 years and over” – in the country, after the classification it was awarded in Australia was carried over. The note “Sex scenes, offensive language and drug use” remained intact, too, until Shanks's “and suicide” was added.
