Caching aids applications to work faster, but even these caches can sometimes cause problems. Let’s take a look at the steps to clear these caches and solve the problems caused by these caches.

Apple TV does not provide delete only cache, however, deleting the application will remove all data including cache. Therefore, if you want to clear the cache on Apple TV, you must delete the application that caused the problem. By doing this it will delete the application and its cached data.

Removing the application and reinstalling it may solve the problem if you are facing a problem with a particular application. Here are the steps:

• Go to settings.
• Open the General tab and then click the manage storage option.
• Then go to the bin icon, where you will get a list of projects (Applications).
• Select an application and click it.
• The application and all data, including the cache, will now be deleted from the device (Apple TV).

Your Apple TV streams video and music, but it stores apps locally. The more apps you download to Apple TV, the more storage is used up. At some point, you may get a warning that you’re running out of disk space. If so, you can remove apps to free up space.

Remove unused apps on the Home Screen

You can set Apple TV to remove unused apps to save space. Removing apps preserves your documents and data in case you download an app again later.

1. Open Settings

   
   on Apple TV.

2. Go to Apps and turn on Offload Unused Apps.

Re-install unused apps on the Home Screen

If you’ve set Apple TV to offload unused apps, they appear on the Home Screen with a download icon

Re-installing the app will restore your data if the app is still available in the App Store.

• Navigate to an unused app on the Home Screen, then select it to download the app again.

Manually delete apps to recover space

1. Open Settings

   
   on Apple TV.

2. Go to General > Manage Storage.

3. Navigate to the Bin icon for any item in the list and press the clickpad centre (second-generation Siri Remote) or the touch surface (first-generation Siri Remote).

   The app and all of its data are removed from the device.
