How to extinguish fire in Minecraft

Use potions. You can use a Potion of Fire Resistance to negate lava/fire damage, or maybe a Potion of Regeneration/Potion of Health to hold off death until you are safe. Golden Apples can do both.

You can try to get somewhere safe and die there/put items in a chest so you can come back after you respawn and get the items.

If you don't mind cheating, type "/gamemode 1" to enter creative mode; flying, invincibility, and infinite items can be achieved with this. If it says "You don't have permission" or something, and your on singleplayer, press "Esc" (Escape), Click Open to LAN, Enable "Allow Cheats", and Click "Start LAN world." Now type /gamemode 1 and it should work.

For the furnace mechanic, see Smelting. For the smoke-producing block for cooking food, see Campfire. For the NBT tag, see Entity format § Entity Format. For other uses, see Fire (disambiguation).

Fire

gamerule doFireTick is false, fire lasts forever until it is put out by the player, and does not spread or affect flammable blocks.

Bees[]

Setting fire to a beehive or bee nest causes the contained bees to be ejected from the block.

Piglins[]

Soul fire repels piglins. Like hoglins, they are not fire-resistant, which is unique among Nether mobs.

  • Bedrock Edition[]

    • Burning mobs have the same animation as Java, yet differently scaled.
    • The fire spreading mechanic is based on how it would be prior to Java Edition Beta 1.6.
    • The sides of the fire model in this edition are rotated like in versions before Java Edition 1.8.
    • When the player is on fire, there is a different burning animation on the screen than in Java Edition (it partially obstructs view when looking downward).
    • Players with Fire Resistance do not visibly burn when in fire sources.
    • Soul fire can be placed on other blocks with /gamerule doFireTick19, but eventually extinguish.‌[Bedrock Edition only]

What is the command to extinguish fire in Minecraft?

A new command: If you or a block are on fire, you could extinguish yourself/the block by running the extinguish command! For example: '/extinguish @s' would extinguish yourself if you were on fire. '/extinguish 13 79 -56' would extinguish the block at that coodinate.

How do I extinguish a fire?

      Here are some options:.
If the fire is small enough, cover it with a metal cooking lid or cookie sheet. ... .
Cover the fire with a fire blanket, a large piece of fire-resistant material such as fiberglass..
      Don't swat at the flames. ... .
Pour a large quantity of salt or baking soda over the fire. ... .
      Turn off any heat source..
