Posted: Saturday 30th of Dec 09:33  Hi! We just started tackling a new lesson in math regarding factorising quadratics calculator and I did good for most assignments we got but the latest one my teacher gave hard so I'd appreciate if somebody will assist me to understand it! It’s a problem solving homework my math professor gave out this day and it’s due next week and I tried doing it but to no avail . I can’t answer it with ease unlike the other assignments. I had an easy time doing my past assignments but this particular assignment with specific topic of perpendicular lines gives me a hard time just figuring out how to start . I’m desperately in need of help. I’ll really be grateful if somebody help me in showing the steps and how to answer it in a organized and clear way.ameich

I have recommended it to my friends and they too find it very useful. I strongly recommend it to help you with your math homework.shattolh

Posted: Thursday 04th of Jan 08:28  Thanks friends for all your replies . I have got the Algebrator from https://solve-variable.com/solving-literal-equations-and-formulas.html. Just got it installed and started using it. Its superb. The exercise problems can test the real expertise that we possess on Remedial Algebra. I am thankful to you all!Gog

Posted: Friday 05th of Jan 19:10  geometry, equivalent fractions and geometry were a nightmare for me until I found Algebrator, which is really the best math program that I have come across. I have used it through many math classes – Basic Math, Algebra 2 and College Algebra. Simply typing in the algebra problem and clicking on Solve, Algebrator generates step-by-step solution to the problem, and my algebra homework would be ready. I really recommend the program.

Enter your problem in the box above and click the blue arrow to submit your question (you may see a range of appropriate solvers (such as "Factor") appear if there are multiple options). If you're not sure what to enter, look over the sample problems below to see the types of expressions this tool can factorise. In addition to the completely free factored result, considering upgrading with our partners at Mathway to unlock the full step-by-step solution.

Example Problems

Try typing these expressions into the calculator, click the blue arrow, and select "Factor" to see a demonstration. Or, use these as a template to create and solve your own problems.

Problem: \(4x^2-9\)
Solution: \((2x+3)(2x-3)\)

Problem: \(x^4-81\)
Solution: \((x^2+9)(x+3)(x-3)\)

Problem: \(x^2-7x-18\)
Solution: \((x-9)(x+2)\)

Common Factoring Questions

Here are some questions other visitors have asked on our free math help message board. Perhaps you can learn from the questions someone else has already asked.

Final Thoughts

You may want to read up on the quadratic formula to help your algebra knowledge rather than relying on this solver. Afterall, the point is to learn the concept, not just get the answer... right?

Also, while this calculator page is tailored for algebraic expressions, you might be looking to solve for the prime factorization of a number. For example, finding all the prime numbers that divide into 56 (7 and 2). We also have a page on the greatest common factor and a link for least common multiple available.
