Iirc, the admin has control over who is able to join in his Realms menu. I think you literally remove the player from the list.

Producer (not Realms related)
You'll need to go into the Realms menu and remove them from your invite list.

Those commands do not work with realms. Everything must be done through the GUI.

You can give an escalated role to players, using the Realms management gui, but it only provides things like /give and /weather, not /kick or /ban.

But /kick is not the same as /ban

I can't use the /kick command on my own realm server? Before, I was able to use it without any problems, but now it just says "You do not have permission to use this command". I'm the owner of my own server, so I don't know why it isn't working.

Dear TheLastArc,
In realms, to kick or remove someone from your realm, you must go to the realm configuration. Hit the red
X and click it to kick them from the realm.
Sincerely,

Well try doing /op (ur IGN) and then try /kick (somebody)
if it doesnt work, tell the person to put his/her stuff in a chest, then go to configure then memoize his/her IGN,remove their name then re add him/her
btw, may i join?

I'm having the same problem. I can't use /kick on my Own realm. I don't want to ban people or anything, I just want to kick them from the game but it says I don't have permission, but it's My realm..

This is not a normal server. There really is no /kick command. It was always like that. You can only ban the player and reinvite them. Hence, a tempban. Mojang might have disabled the /kick command to prevent spamming.
I like CyanogenMod 13 and coding for my phone.. Yep. That's all.

Sorry for the necropost, but i've found a way to kick without banning:
/execute *PLAYERNAME* ~ ~ ~ tellraw *PLAYERNAME* [{"selector":"@e"}]Replace the *PLAYERNAME* with the person you want to kick
(IT MAY NOT WORK IF THERE AREN'T ENOUGH ENTITIES)
