How to refund a gifted game on Xbox

I gifted my friend in the US "The Elder Scrolls Online Summerset"

I found out he cannot redeem the code since the code is AUS.

Is there any way to convert the code into a US code or refund the gift?

Edit 1: I refunded gift by using Microsoft's online chat support (So this does work)

Edit 2: Changing your Xbox to Australia doesn't let redeem the code in different regions

   Sent the wrong version of Battlefield to my friend about an hour ago, im seeing no way to refund it even though he cant play it and hasn't. I got to my order history but there is no option to request a refund or anything like that and it does not show up in my list of games i can request a refund for.

   I messed up

   It was within 10 minutes of my request. But I bought it as a gift also and it seems they have this policy.

   Returns and Refunds. Gifts may be canceled and refunded to the Gift purchaser up to 14 days after the purchase or until redeemed by the Gift recipient, whichever occurs first. Gift recipients are not entitled to a refund or cooling off period, and you acknowledge that no refund will be made, except as required by law.

   Now the gift was 'redeemed by the gift recipient' but obviously she cant play it because she doesnt have the base game and now there is no way to request a refund. So that kind o' sucks but hey I did get my refund and she has Xbox One so we can purchase the base game and all will be ok.

   The only way is to get a refund for the game here xbox.com/refund, then purchase the game as a gift.

   Keep in mind you would have 14 days from purchase to request a refund, provided the game was not played. If they played it, there is no refund.

   Product Code Not Received

   You can definitely request a refund however, in-game currencies can't be purchased as a gift. You can purchase an Xbox Gift card and send it to them so they can purchase it directly on their account.

   To request a refund, kindly sign in to https://xbox.com/refunds.
