How to remove flashlight from lock screen Reddit

Why are you so apple, apple?!

Seriously, when I hold my phone, I turn on the flashlight accidently like 5 times a day.

Why can't I remove it? Why is it on lock screen, it's there in the control center, who even needs flashlight to be accessible from lock screen? I literally never turn on my flashlight, and once I had to pick something from under a couch, I forgot about the icon on lock screen and went to control center because that's where I expect it to be.

You might think it's stupid but I'm seriously considering just getting an android over iPhone now, because it's ridiculous and people think I'm doing some creepshots of them because I constantly just walk around with flashlight on.

Why are those icons even there to begin with? Flashlight is just stupid and camera is useless since left-swipe opens camera anyway. At least let me remove it.

And no, I don't mean turning off the tap to wake - I want tap to wake! I want to remove the icon, how is this not possible?

It made more sense when 3D touch was a thing, could basically never be activated accidentally.

This. I find it helpful on the Lock Screen, however now it turns on probably 7/10 times that I pull it out of my pocket. Never did that with 3D touch.

Yeah, dumb that even though my phone hardware supports 3d touch, it still activates on long press instead.

I use it almost daily, but I also accidentally turn it on fairly often - usually with the bottom of my palm.

It is useful, but I've also found myself accidentally turning it on. I'm not sure how I do it, but quite often when I unlock my phone I also turn the flashlight on.

Future iOS versions should have a new feature to allow us to customize those buttons...

I can’t say I hate it but the force touch thing you have to do I’m not so keen on it. Idk maybe I’m used to iOS 9 days. 🤷🏾‍♂️

It can be removed from the lock screen. Settings -> Control Center -> Flashlight.

No, that’s for the flashlight in control center, not on the Lock Screen. FYI, iPhones with Face ID have a flashlight button on the Lock Screen that iPhones with Touch ID lack.

I think it is very useful except when you start to feel a strong heat on your pockets and it turns out to be the flashlight.

This is how I always discover it’s accidentally on. I get that flashlight on the Lock Screen is handy for a lot of folks, but for those of us who accidentally turn it on every goddamn day it’d be nice to have the option to remove it

Is it not in Settings and Control Centre, swipe left to remove? Or am I misunderstanding where you have the app located?

Lock screen, not command center. The phone and flashlight shortcut aren't customizable or able to be removed.

The iPhone se does not have one on the Lock Screen. Right now that is the only option I think which sucks for most people.
