How to trade Pokemon in Soulsilver using emulator

I am wanting to evolve some pokemon that only evolve with trading (like haunter), but I am not seeing anything online with seeing how to trade. I'd be willing to try action replay cheats or if local hosting a trade in the pokecenter is possible. Has anyone had any success with this?

How to trade Pokemon in Soulsilver using emulator

level 1

Use PKHeX to trade with yourself. It's the best alternative.

Desmume trading literally doesn't work, and MelonDS trading crashes the game at least 50% of the times.

level 2

Does PKHeX work with current save files or is it only with new save files?

level 1

For local trading, use melonDS instead of desmume

level 1

Use melonds emulator. It supports WiFi and even gts.

level 1

I don't think you can trade Pokémon in DeSmuMe. You can trade Pokémon in melonDS, but it seems unstable in the Gen 4 games (Gen 5 games, on the other hand, are somehow more stable from my experience)

level 1

Desmume developers hate pokemon and made it so pokemon games don't work well on it on purpose. I haven't tried trading with Retroarch, but it runs well otherwise. There is also Drastic for android.

That's easy enough to do.

To trade between multiple instances of Gen III, use NO$GBA.
If you need to use Pal-Park, load the rom and save file in the proper section of DeSmuME, then load your Gen IV game, which will read the information from the virtual slot-2 and allow you to Pal-Park.

If you need to trade between multiple Gen IV games, just open your save file with PokéGen, extract the .pkm files of the Pokémon you want to trade, then load them into your other .sav file.

In order to transfer Pokémon to Gen V, extract the Gen IV Pokémon from your save file, then run them through KazoWAR's PokéTransfer tool.
Once done, import the _transfered.pkm files into your Gen V save file.

But could you use two emulator programs to both connect to GTS at the same time to use online trades?

I find it fascinating that Nintendo allows roms to connect to the servers...

As for the first question, this is not a good idea because you risk your trade offer being accepted by someone else.
Secondly, you really think Nintendo allows it?
If it works, it's because they can't detect it.

Desmume doesn't work with Gen IV. Use no$GBA.

This is completely wrong.

oops sorry My bad sorry if i Missed out the Soul in the "soul silver " probably my brain is just wired to read SoulSilver, anyway , post edited

But it is not possible to use Pal-Park between Gen II and Gen IV anyway.

If you really want it that bad, you could try two options. One costs money and will most likely fail and the other is free and will most likely succeed if given enough time.

So the costly method, is to get an action replay and input the codes for the Pokemon you want and make itbappear in game. You'll need to look up exactly how yourself. This method will most likely fail as Pokebank has a screening process and makes so that only legit Pokemon are allowed through.

Second option is the GTS through the 3DS games or the puruse forums and ask there. There are many generous people out there with lots of extras and spares and most don't mind lending a helping hand. The only drawback is this will take time.

Best of luck mate

  1. No DS emulator to my knowledge supports trading. So, sad to say, you're out of luck. Sorry.

Unfortunately, you cannot trade Pokémon with other emulator users; however, you can trade with yourself in order to port Pokémon between the two emulators.
