If you buy movie tickets online do they check for ID

I'm 17 and taking my 16 (she looks younger though I don't know if that will be a problem) year old friend to see this is the end. Our theater checks your age at the ticket counter but I'm not sure if they check your age if you already have the tickets.

If you buy movie tickets online do they check for ID

level 1

I used to work at a cinema and on occasion when we showed R rated movies we would quite often stand someone at the entrance and look for people obviously under the age. We would refuse entry and refund tickets if they couldn't show ID. My best tip for you to smuggle your underage friend in is to enter as late as possible.

At the theater I go to (an AMC), the "pre-ordered" tickets you print out at the theater are a different color than the ones you buy at the counter. If you have one of the printed tickets, the person who takes the stub is supposed to ID you. If you have one of the tickets from the front desk, they assume you've already been IDd from when you bought the ticket.

Depends what theater, but you can get a guardian to check you in and they leave.

Once a booking has been confirmed online, you can access your tickets in store either physically or digitally.

  • The booking confirmation is emailed to the email address provided for the booking. You can print this email confirmation off at home, or bring the email on your phone. Present the booking code in store to print your physical movie tickets off in store.
  • The booking confirmation email has an option to add your digital ticket to your mobile wallet. Simply add your booking to your digital wallet by pressing the option ‘Save to Mobile Wallet’, and then use the booking code in your digital wallet in store to print off your physical movie tickets.
  • If you are a Cinebuzz member and were logged into your account when you purchased the tickets, you will be able to view your booking on the Event Cinemas app (while logged into your Cinebuzz account), as an ‘Upcoming Order’. You can then use the digital order on the app to ‘check in’ to your booking. You will then just need to show your ‘checked in’ digital tickets at the gate for entry to the film.

It’s super easy. When you get to the theater, you can walk directly up to the ticket attendant (aka ticket-taker) and scan your QR code from your phone—no need to print anything.

QR Code Issue If you’re having trouble accessing your QR code, you can provide the ticket attendant with your ticket ID/confirmation number and they’ll be able to access your order. You can find this information in your confirmation text or email.

Example: Thanks for using Atom! Your order is confirmed: 2 tickets for Toy Story 4 at Cinemark 18 and XD at 06:05 PM, 06/26/2019. Just scan your QR code or use confirmation # 10851277901111 at the theater to redeem your tickets. View/manage your order here: http://bit.ly/2X6N9m6

Pre-Order Concessions If you pre-ordered concessions, your concessions and ticket are on the same QR code. Look for the Atom Concessions Pick-Up signs near the concessions counter. Just walk directly up to the counter and scan your QR code to pick up your concessions order*. That’s right—VIP service.

If you use the Atom Tickets app, make sure to enable location services and push notifications. When those are turned on, you’ll receive an alert when you’re close to the theater within 30 minutes of showtime that asks if you’d like the theater to start preparing your concessions order. Just hit “yes” and your goodies will be ready for pick-up before you even reach the concessions counter. Like magic!

*At AMC Theatres, your QR code will not be scanned when you pick up concessions. Instead, look for the designated pick-up area or signage to retrieve your order. If necessary, give the concessions attendant your confirmation # to assist with locating the order.

Concessions Seat Delivery If you pre-ordered concessions from a theater that provides seat delivery service, just scan your ticket, head into the theater and find your seat. The concessions counter will automatically be notified of your arrival when you scan your movie ticket, and they’ll deliver your concessions directly to your seat.
