How do you know that someone has hidden their Snap story from you?
It's simple. When someone doesn't give you access to their Snap story, you won't find them by typing their name in the Snap search bar.
Also, if you know their account is private, you can ask one of your mutual friends if they have access to the story of the person you suspect blocked you. If that friend says they see their story, it's confirmed that they did block you.
And if someone has added you to their private Snap story, how do you know?
First of all, you won't receive a notification or a message from Snapchat when someone adds you to their private story. It's only when the person tags you in their story that you'll be notified, but that doesn't happen in private stories.
However, if someone has added you to their private story, it's easy to find out. You only have to follow 3 small steps to view a private story:
- Open the Snapchat app on your mobile and log in to your account;
- Initially, you will land at the Snap camera. Swipe left on the screen so you can access stories;
- When you are on the Stories screen, under the "Friends", you will see all the stories published by your friends. You will see a circular icon for each story which will allow you to distinguish private stories from regular stories.
Know that you're in a private story when you see a circular, purple padlock icon. On the other hand, if you are in an ordinary story, you will not find any padlock.
The little padlock means that a story can only be watched by people selected by the person who published it, and you are one of the lucky ones.
Is it possible to leave someone's private story?
Indeed, you can freely pause someone's private story if you wish.
To remove yourself from the list of viewers of someone's private story, simply go to the "stories" section. Find the private Snap story you want to unfollow. Then, you just need to press and hold the story icon and then select the red "Leave story", and that's it. You can even opt out of being added to that person's private story by selecting the "Block Story".
