Discussion Starter · #1 · Dec 16, 2012 They might even just sell a basic 3001 shirt. They all have the same description, 4.2 oz, 100 percent ring spun cotton. I think the 3001u is only made in the U.S., which would hopefully mean it would be better quality. As I'm aware of them ... 3001u = Made in the USA. My experience is mostly from when Threadless was using them. New, I didn't find any noticeable difference; after washing a few times, I felt the 3001u was more consistent in holding its shape than the 3001, which varied from batch to batch, it seemed.
