When I first heard about Fable & Mane, I was beyond ecstatic that a South Asian-owned brand is not only making headlines but also bringing the timeless traditions of South Asian, Ayurvedic hair oiling to the mainstream market. The practice of hair oiling and using Ayurvedic herbs and ingredients to solve scalp and hair issues have been used for centuries. From the growth and moisturizing benefits of castor oil, neem, and aloe vera to the nourishing benefits of coconut oil, dashmool, and turmeric, Fable & Mane's line feels like it was created for me and my hair type. I felt proud and compelled to try out the line — to finally see myself represented in the mainstream hair-care game.

Ever since I was a little girl, my mom would concoct a mix of oils and herbs, heat it, and massage it into my scalp and hair to deep condition from root to tip the night before I washed my hair. It was my first impression of self-care and giving my hair some much-needed TLC. It's a practice I continue to do at least once a week. Here's the thing: DIY isn't always your best friend. There were countless times when I used a little too much of certain ingredients, and my scalp and hair reacted in a not-so-great way, not to mention it created a giant mess in my kitchen and bedroom. Fable & Mane took that process and streamlined it to make it more manageable, accessible, and safe. It took the natural ingredients used from ancient times but formulated it with a scientific approach.

If you have dry, dull hair and scalp or hair that requires nourishment, the line is a must have. I have always dealt with a dry and flakey scalp; sometimes, it gets so irritated and itchy. It's not a good look. Surprisingly, the Fable & Mane line eliminated my scalp concerns. Even my DIYs couldn't solve those issues! My hair felt so soft and smooth, I could not stop touching my hair and playing around with it. I was able to blow-dry and style my hair with such ease.

The line is nourishing and rich, so a little goes a long way. I highly recommend the Fable & Mane HoliRoots Oil and Fable & Mane Shampoo if you primarily have scalp concerns. If you have dry and dull ends, the Fable & Mane Conditioner and Fable & Mane Hair Mask will do wonders in diminishing frizz and nourishing your hair. The entire line is clean at Sephora, is vegan and cruelty-free, and comes in recyclable packaging. Keep reading to see my in-depth review of each product and how I used it.
