Is Fanboy and Chum Chum coming back?

Fanboy and Chum-Chum is an underrated classic and deserves to be among the likes of ADAM-12, CHiPS, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Nickelodeon's acclaimed buddy-comedy ran for a mere two seasons, but was cancelled for reasons unknown.

What this petition asks of Nickelodeon, the cast, and most importantly, you, is for a third season complete with every voice actor and character, save for Fanboy and Chum-Chum's nemesis, Boogregard. This is due to the fact that Fanboy and Chum-Chum have no competition, because they have superpowers. With Boogregard (AKA Boog) Fanboy and Chum-Chum are unnecessarily challenged. Thank you. 

It all started with a simple idea: two kids wearing superhero costumes and hanging out at a convenience store. A few years later, out of the ashes of Frederator and Nickelodeon's Random! Cartoons comes the squash-and-stretchy CGI world of Fanboy & Chum Chum. The show is about two best friends who live in a water-tower atop of an apartment building with no parental supervision and the strange adventures they have in the town of Galaxy Hills. From turning into vampires, swapping brains with a robot, and taking advantage of slush-machine monster to get through a heat wave, these guys do it all.

Along for the ride are Yo (a Japanese girl with an obsession for digital pets), Kyle (a snarky wizard expelled from his old school, though no one but the titular duo believes him), the Oz (a comic book nerd who lives with his mother), Boog (a bully who works at the local convenience store, but is more interested in playing its arcade game), and Lenny (a sarcastic convenience store employee who hates his job).

The show premiered on November 6, 2009 and it ended after two seasons on November 2, 2012.note One episode, "Brain Freeze," was released on DVD in 2011 but did not air on American TV until July 12, 2014 (almost two years after the show finished). The show's production blog can be found here

• Abduction Is Love: Seems to be Yo's belief, as she's constantly tried to capture Chum Chum out of adoring him immensely.
• Absent Animal Companion: The episode "Rattleskunkupine!" ends with the boys keeping the titular animal and naming it "Scooter". However, it was never seen again since that episode.
• Abnormal Limb Rotation Range: Chum Chum when he came down with the "Frosty Freezy Freeze Fever" in "Berry Sick".
• Accent Adaptation: Not an accent per se, but in the Polish dub, Kyle speaks with a lisp and relies even more on Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness to compensate for the lack of distinguishable accents in the Polish language, and therefore one that could serve as an equivalent to British.
• Actually a Doombot: "Super Chums" has one part where Super Chum and Fannihilator fight what turns out to be a robot duplicate of Copykitten.
• All-CGI Cartoon: The show is animated entirely with three-dimensional computer-generated graphics.

• Always Someone Better: In "The Big Bopper", a new employee at the Frosty Mart proves to be even more of a bully than Boog.

• April Fools' Day: Prank Day seems to be the show's equivalent of this.
• Amusing Injuries: Characters are frequently harmed in ways that are over-the-top and absurd.
• Anthropomorphic Food: Professor Flan is a giant walking flan who used to be a normal teacher until Kyle cast a spell on him.
• Anvil on Head: When Scampers returns from the Digital Pet Cemetery, Fanboy and Chum Chum happily drop a safe on him. Similarly, at the end of "The Frosty Bus", Boog is squashed flat when the Frosty Bus sign falls on him.
• Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: One of the recalled toys in "Total Recall" was a complete recreation of a battleship with functioning weaponry. It was recalled because the plastic flag was a choking hazard.
• Art Evolution: The Pilot Episode "Fanboy" from Random! Cartoons looks much different than the series now. The CGI animation was more like of The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius, in that it was darker, stiffer, and less refined. Fanboy's costume was white and purple, Chum Chum was bigger and taller, Barry the Ice Monster was large and fierce, and Lenny was a white guy with an orange afro. Now the animation is much more lucid, colorful, character designs and voices have changed, and it's more along the lines of what The Ren & Stimpy Show would look like in CGI.
• Artistic License – Education:
  • "Excuse Me": Fanboy, Chum Chum and Kyle get away with missing class constantly due to all kinds of unrealistic fake excuse notes. Mr Mufflin falls for all of them until it is discovered outright that they are lying. He even accepts an excuse note to excuse FanKyleChum (actually a real student) from class forever. Even given Rule of Funny, no teacher would accept any of these.
  • "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha": Fanboy and Chum Chum accidentally end up in a kindergarten where they are forced to stay all day because the teacher doesn't believe that they're not kindergarten students. While there, they discover that their former classmate Marsha was sent here after Fanboy got snot all over her standardized test. No teacher would use something like this as a reason to fail a student to the point of sending them back five grades. Additionally, Marsha would just be made to retake the test at a later date, especially since it wasn't her fault the test got ruined.

    Word of God, Chum Chum is two years younger than Fanboy, but is in the same class due to Fanboy sneaking him in and no one noticing. Seemingly, Adults Are Useless and bureaucracy barely exists in this world.
• Aside Glance: Kyle does this in "Prank Master" after Fanboy asks him to pull his finger.
• Ate the Spoon: The Lunch Lady's glop corrodes a fork in "Little Glop of Horrors."
• Audience Surrogate: Kyle can be seen as one, given that he seems to be the one rational and sane character in a world of wild and crazy cloudcuckoolanders.
• Ax-Crazy: Marsha. She spends her entire episode trying to kill Fanboy.
• Baby Morph Episode: Kyle is turned into a baby in the episode "Crib Notes".
• Bad Humor Truck: It's nearly impossible for Fanboy and Chum Chum to get a Frosty Freezy Freeze from the Frosty Bus when Boog is behind the wheel.
• Bad Job, Worse Uniform: Boog and Lenny's work shirts aren't that bad, but they have to wear Frosty Freezy Freeze cup hats.
• Bag of Holding: Fanboy has a desk of holding at school, and he and Chum Chum go excavating inside it in order to find his missing textbook in "Schoolhouse Lock".
• Banana Peel:
  • One of the pranks Yo plays on Fanboy in "Prank Master" is tripping him with a banana peel.
  • Mr. Mufflin trips on a banana peel at the end of "Funny Face".
• Behind a Stick: The portly Oz hides behind a lamppost in "Total Recall".
• Berserk Button: Fannahilator goes berserks if Super Chum calls anyone besides him his "Best Nemesis Forever".

• Big "NO!": Fanboy says it as Chum Chum spends their only dollar on the Chimp Chomp machine in "Dollar Day", Boog does this in "Fanboy in the Plastic Bubble" after his stack of money explodes, and Lenny has a Slow Motion one in "The Great Bicycle Mystery" when he sees that Bikey has been destroyed.
  • Chum Chum screams one in "Brain Drain" as Fanboy tries to eat his own brain.
  • In "There Will Be Shrieks", both Fanboy and Chum Chum scream this in unison after Mr. Trick steals their taste, impacted with Eat the Camera.

• Big "YES!": This is Poopatine's repeated response to Fanboy and Chum Chum's gums being allowed in school.
• Birthday Episode: Chum Chum's birthday is celebrated in "Present Not Accounted For".
• Black Dot Pupils: A rare usage of this in CGI animation. The only exception is Poopatine whose are gold, while Man-Arctica's are blank white sockets.
• Bottle Episode: There are a few episodes that remain in only one location the whole episode; there are also a few that remain indoors, and one that's completely outdoors.
• Brain Freeze: The Title Sequence includes Fanboy and Chum Chum getting brain freeze from consuming Frosty Freezy Freeze.
• Bread, Eggs, Breaded Eggs:
  • In "Fanboy Ahoy", three of the things the boys put in their treasure chest are candy, money, and candy money.
  • In "Stan Arctica", Fanboy complains of how he's wasted his time reading Man-Arctica's comics, listening to his CDs and listening to his comics on CD.
• Bread, Eggs, Milk, Squick: In "Chicken Pox", Kyle tells the titular duo that all he has to do to get better is bed rest, plenty of fluids, and lay an egg.
• Brick Joke:
  • The "charm to summon a griffon spell" in "Wizboy". Fanboy reads it out loud, which sends Kyle into a panic, but nothing happens. Later on, the griffon actually does show up and takes Kyle away, which notably also apparently saves the boys' lives.
  • At the beginning of "Dollar Day", Fanboy abuptly stops while walking which causes his brain to fall out. Later in the episode when he and Chum Chum are trying to come up with a way to get a dollar, he shouts "We've got to THINK!". Chum Chum then leaves the screen for a second and comes back with Fanboy's brain and puts it back in his head.
  • Oz's plan to make a candy ark in "There Will Be Shrieks", which is described the beginning of the episode but doesn't reappear until the very end.
• Bring My Brown Pants:
  • When Scampers is emerging from the television at the end of "Digital Pet Cemetery", Fanboy, Chum Chum, and Yo yell for Oz to do something. He replies with, "Can't talk... soiling self!"
  • "I, Fanbot" has the robot with Fanboy's brain horrified that the whole class wants to beat him for failing all their exams, Chum Chum pointing out to his friend that he just "oiled" himself.
  • In "Monster in the Mist", Fanboy, Chum Chum, and Boog spray Lenny with cheese when they think he's the monster.

  Lenny: What's wrong with you people?!
  Boog: There's a monster on the loose!
  Fanboy: Just like in ''Monster in the Mist''!
  Chum Chum: The miiiiiiissst...
  Lenny: That's ridiculous.
  Chum Chum: (points to Boog) He saw it! It's huge!
  Boog: Yeah, huge! I've never been so scared! Uh... speaking of, I... I gotta hit the bathroom and rinse out a few things, alright?

  • In "A Bopwork Orange", Fanboy and Chum Chum decide to try another method to cure Boog's bopping besides Electric Torture. Boog responds to this with, "If it doesn't shock me, I'm all for it! I'm down to my last clean underwear anyway."
• Bowel-Breaking Bricks: When everyone fails the test in "I, Fanbot" and corners the robotic Fanboy, Chum Chum points out, "Uh, Fanbot, I think you oiled yourself."
• Bubble Boy: Boog in his childhood. Fanboy and Chum Chum later buy his bubble and wreak all kinds of havoc with it.
• The Bully: Boog to everyone, Mr. Mufflin to both titled characters and Oz's Mom to Oz.
• Burping Contest: "The Frosty Bus" episode begins with the title characters doing this.
• Butt-Monkey: Nearly all the characters have been this at some point or another.
• Calvinball: Kyle comes over to the Fanlair in "Cold War", he tries to play board games and action figures with Fanboy and Chum Chum, but they have such random rules that Kyle quits out of frustration.
  • And when he calls shenanigans, it turns out to be the name of their most random game, considering it involves an army of Fanboy and Chum Chum clones.
• Camera Abuse: In "Fanboy in the Plastic Bubble", the bubble bounces on the camera lens.
  • Again in "Lucky Chumps" when Lucky Charlie whips the boys at the camera.
• Can Only Move the Eyes: Both Fanboy and Chum Chum when they are frozen in "Berry Sick" and "Freeze Tag".
  • At the end of "Fan-Bidextrous, Fanboy somehow only has the ability to move his eyes and talk after getting stuck to a cement-coated Mr. Mufflin.
• Captain Colorbeard: "Fanboy A'hoy" has Fanboy go by the name Captain Fanbeard when pretending to be a pirate.
• Captain Morgan Pose: Fanboy has one in the episode title card for "Fanboy A'hoy!"

  • Chum Chum is shown to be obviously smarter than Fanboy, as seen in "Fangboy" when he easily recognizes his "vampire bite" as just a mosquito bite, and in "The Incredible Shrinking Fanboy" the result of Fanboy thinking he's shrinking is because the measuring flower grew overnight.
  • In "Heroes vs. Villains", this is the name of the superhero persona Joey assumes in the imagination sequence.
• Cash-Cow Franchise: Man-Arctica seems to be an in-universe example. So far comic books, action figures, music CDs, cereal and rides dedicated to him have been shown.
• Chainsaw Good: In "Crib Notes", Fanboy and Chum Chum juggle chainsaws as an attempt to help baby Kyle go to sleep. It doesn't go well.
• Chair Reveal: Oz has a comedic one in "Freeze Tag" when Fanboy and Chum Chum try to hide from Man-arctica in his store. As he talks about his anticipation for Man-arctica's appearance, Oz swivels the chair to reveal himself holding a bucket of chicken with a face smeared with barbecue sauce.
• Chekhov's Gunman: At the start of "Dollar Day'', Fanboy talks about building a robot someday. The same robot arrives from the future at the end of the episode.
• Christmas Episode: "A Very Brrr-y Icemas", where Fanboy and Chum Chum sneak into Man-Arctica's workshop disguised as his helpers so that Fanboy can re-record his present request and get what he truly wanted for Icemas.
• Chromatic Arrangement: Kyle (red), Chum Chum (yellow/orange), and Fanboy (green).
• Clark Kenting:
  • Man-Arctica does this in "Stan Arctica" by wearing glasses and taking a job at Oz's comic shop. No one recognizes him, despite having super strength and icicles tearing out of his clothes.
  • Fanboy, in "Fanboyfriend" pulls out a pair of coke-bottle-glasses, creating a "secret identity" to hide from Lupe. It doesn't work.
• Cloud Cuckoolander: Both the main characters are pretty odd, but considering how crazy their world is...
• Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: Kyle is this to Fanboy and Chum Chum, often calling them out for their craziness and shenanigans and often what they're doing should not be the task at hand.
• Companion Cube:
  • Fanboy went to the school dance with a sentient mop for a date in "Moppy Dearest".
  • Boog talks to the Chimp Chomp machine as if it was his girlfriend. He acts the same way with his car named Sandy.
  • Lenny acts similarly with his bike, Bikey, but to a lesser extent.
  • Yo's best friend is a pine cone named Ingrid.
  • Janitor Poopatine seems to have a personal relationship with his mechanized chair, Brenda.
• Company Cross References: In one episode, Chum Chum's pirate name is "Chumbucket", which is the name of Plankton's restaurant in SpongeBob SquarePants.
• Continuity Nod:
  • While waiting in line for the roller coaster in "Man-Arctica the Ride", Fanboy taunts Kyle by saying he's getting chicken pox, which is a reference to a past episode.
  • In "The Incredible Chulk", Fanboy's Glass Eye from "Fan vs. Wild" falls out after he's thrown on the camera by Boog.
  • "HypnotOzed" makes several references to "The Hard Sell" when Oz's mom says that if Oz doesn't make any sales, she'll turn his store into a yogurt shop, then Fanboy and Chum Chum show Oz the first dollar he made, and Fedora Man returns to take the dollar back.
  • In "Wizboy", Kyle casually references how he got expelled from his Wizarding School by turning his teacher into a flan. This teacher appears in the season two episode "Crib Notes" to administer Kyle's test to be readmitted to his school. In "Kids in the Hall", Professor Flan returns when Kyle tries to get accepted into Milkweed Academy again.
• Contrived Coincidence: In "Monster in the Mist" Boog and Lenny both see Fanboy and Chum Chum as the same monster despite having their vision impaired in different ways, and the exact same monster turns out to be Real After All.
• Cool Toy: "Trading Day" introduces a popular toy robot called Mechatech. Fanboy wanted one so badly that he traded Chum Chum to Yo in return for hers.
• Costume Copycat: In "Lord of the Rings", Kyle disguises himself as Chum Chum in order to learn Fanboy's ring trick. He looks exactly like Chum Chum, except with protruding braces and British accent, which manages to fool Fanboy and the real Chum Chum anyway.
• Covered in Gunge: Oh, man, where to start with this show? Fanboy has been sneezed on, doused with Frosty Freezy Freeze slush, and assaulted with eggs, just to name a few times.
  • In one episode, his superhero costume got so incredibly dirty that it actually came to life.
• Cranium Compartment: Fanboy can open the top of his head like a jar at will whenever he wants. This becomes important in "Brain Drain" as it's used to lose his brain.
• Cue the Flying Pigs: When Yo asks the duo to take care of Scampers in "Digital Pet Cemetery", Chum Chum is seen releasing a pig with wings.

  "And they said you'd never fly!"

• Cup Holders: Boog's car has a pretty fancy one with a mechanized claw that grabs the cup and locks it in the dash.
• Cute and Psycho: Marsha. She was the class's star pupil until Fanboy sneezed on her test. Then things got ugly...
• Cuteness Proximity: In "Battle of the Stands", Yo and Lupe's entire method of gaining customers at their lemonade stand is to use their girlish charm. When Fanboy retaliates by disguising himself as a baby, the customers immediately abandon the stand in favor of adoring him instead.
• Darker and Edgier: "Fangboy" (where Fanboy and Chum Chum cross paths with a vampire named Dr. Acula), "Book Report of the Dead" (where Fanboy accidentally turns Mr. Mufflin into a zombie), "There Will Be Shrieks" (where a Pumpkin Person named Mr. Trick takes the boys' sense of taste and tries to get rid of all candy on Hallowen) and "Speed Eraser" (where Kyle tricks Fanboy into having a cursed eraser attached to his hand that erases physical objects and people from existence) are all darker in tone than the show usually is; it's justified since the third (and maaaybe the second example) was a Halloween special.
• Deadpan Snarker: Kyle tends to make sarcastic quips when dealing with Fanboy and Chum Chum's idiocy.
• Dead Pet Sketch: The episode "Digital Pet Cemetery", where Fanboy and Chum Chum take care of Yo's digital pet, Scampers, only to have it "power down" and return as a zombie.
• Department of Redundancy Department: Frosty Freezy Freeze.
• Description Cut: In "Saving Private Chum Chum", Fanboy worries about Chum Chum suffering while trapped in Mr. Mufflin's desk. The camera then cuts to Chum Chum laughing and playing with toys.
• Deranged Animation
• Deus ex Machina: "Fan Vs. Wild" is resolved when it is revealed that Fanboy has a Glass Eye that can shoot lasers.
• Diagonal Cut: Happens twice - in "Digital Pet Cemetery", when Scampers comes back and cuts Fanboy's head to pieces with his claws; and in "Norse-ing Around", when Thorvald commands Lenny to bring him drinks. An irritated Lenny then says "I'm not your servant!", to which Thorvald responds by cutting his cup hat into half.
• Didn't Think This Through:
  • In the episode "Chimp Chomp Chumps," Fanboy and Chum Chum buy the last three tickets for a Chimp Chomp movie, intending to give one to their friend Oz only to find he can't make it. When Boog asks for the last ticket, Fanboy and Chum Chum use it to their advantage to force Boog to do all manner of humiliating favors for them, since the entire time they were waiting in line for the tickets, Boog relentlessly tormented them. When all is said and done, Boog takes solace in the fact that while watching the movie, he'll be able to bop the boys senseless as payback. Fanboy and Chum Chum quickly come to this realization:

    Fanboy: Why didn't we think of that?
    Chum Chum: We really should've thought of that.

  • In "Speed Eraser", Kyle is jealous when Fanboy ends up becoming the new "board eraser-er" for doing an impressive routine, so he gives him a cursed eraser which controls his movement to erase anything out of existence; this only makes him even more popular, so he literally straps the eraser to FB's hand so whatever he tries to use will disappear, to his horror and sadness. However, the Wizard forgot two very important things about the eraser when settling on this — first of all, if the eraser touches someone, then they will be erased; when FB tried to cling onto Kyle, he erases his entire body except for the head. Most importantly, because the eraser is sentient, it takes over all of FB's movements, and he tried to erase the head when trying to grab the wand, and even had to fight against it to use his free hand to grab it before he sees the wand is dirty and led to him erasing it, as well as the extra wand. Kyle tried to ask him to let Chum Chum get the wand for him, but he refused, because he claims he was the one who got him into the mess and can get him out of it.
• Disembodied Eyebrows: A rare CGI example to be exact, due to the deranged 90s architecture of the show.
• Disgusting Public Toilet: The school's oldest bathroom has these.
• Disney Acid Sequence: Fanboy and Chum Chum have a rather surreal musical number about living at the Frosty Mart in "Jingle Fever".
  • The candy song in "There Will Be Shrieks" comes off as Fanboy and Chum Chum being on a drug trip.
  • Also the Training Montage in "Eyes on the Prize".
• Does This Remind You of Anything?:
  • In "A Bopwork Orange", Boog's impulsive bopping is played out like a drug addiction, and at the end of the episode, Agent Johnson even says, "Just say no to bops." In the episode's storyboard, Boog refuses to be separated from the Chimp Chomp machine because "She's even got my initials tatooed above her coin slot!". It's even funnier when you realize his initials are "B.S."
  • In "Fan-bidextrous", Chum Chum introduces Fanboy to his own arm.

  Fanboy: Firm handshake, I like this guy.

  Chum Chum: I've been trying to get you two together for a while.

  • The way Fanboy and Chum Chum lick the dirt off of Cuppy in "Refill Madness" is strangely reminiscent of a certain video on the Internet...
  • The Global Warmer's outfit
    
    looks a lot like pimp duds.
  • Fanboy giving Chum Chum his nose back in "Pick a Nose" is played like proposing marriage, as Fanboy kneels in front of Chum Chum while presenting his nose in a container resembling a wedding ring box and Chum Chum responds by stating that Fanboy has made him the happiest boy.
  • "Kids in the Hall" at one point has Fanboy and Chum Chum force Kyle to pull over, then respond to his story by asking how many potions he had. This is clearly a parallel to the police confronting someone over drunk driving.
• A Dog Ate My Homework: A variant is used in "Chicken Pox".

  Chum Chum: Hey, Kyle, we brought you your homework, but a dog ate it.

  Fanboy: All the times we said it happened to us... and it happens to you! I mean, what are the odds?

  • In "Kids in the Hall", Kyle frantically tries to turn in an essay to Professor Flan, but along the way, a three-headed dog from another dimension eats the paper.
• Downer Ending: In "Chimp Chomp Chumps", Fanboy, Chum Chum, and Boog don't get to see the Chimp Chomp movie on time and have to wait another year to see the sequel while in line.
• Dramatic Irony: In "Slime Day", the audience knows the phrase to get slimed is simply "I don't know", but Fanboy and Chum Chum think everyone actually doesn't know it. Even when a blob of slime spells out the phrase, they think the slime doesn't know as well.
• The Dreaded Toilet Duty: In "The Janitor's Apprentice", Janitor Poopatine tries to punish Fanboy and Chum Chum for making a mess at the cafeteria by making them clean the school. He takes them to a filthy bathroom and Fanboy is terrified that they might have to clean the toilets. Poopatine wants them to refill the soap dispensers... which someone threw into the toilets.
• Dropped After the Pilot: The original Random! Cartoons pilot short established that Fanboy and Chum Chum idolize a superhero named Fan Man, who doesn't appear at all in the actual series, taking with him the explanation for Fanboy's codename. Man-Arctica takes Fan Man's place as the superhero Fanboy and Chum Chum idolize, with the only acknowledgment of Fan Man ever made in the actual series is that "Robo-mance" has Tiffany indicate that Fanboy will go by that name in adulthood.

  • The Random! Cartoons pilot had the green parts of Fanboy's costume colored gray and depicted Chum Chum having string ties similar to those on Robin's tunic rather than an insignia bearing the silhouette of his face.
  • Lenny was depicted in the pilot as a blond Caucasian when the actual series depicts him as an African-American.
  • Berry the Ice Monster was depicted as a hulking brute with no clothes in the pilot, but his in-series appearance in "Berry Sick" makes him significantly smaller and wimpier in addition to wearing a shirt.
• Early-Installment Weirdness:
  • In the first episode, the titular duo thought Kyle was only pretending to be a wizard even though he really is one, but in later episodes, they seem to know the truth.
  • The same first episode has Fanboy use an "Ice Monster Bun Bun" (the same treat from the pilot short), but since then it was never mentioned, with Frosty Freezy Freeze taking its place. It can be seen as an ad in the Frosty Mart, however.
  • The pilot depicts Berry the Ice Monster as a villain who comes to life after Fanboy and Chum Chum's shenanigans cause Frosty Freezy Freeze to come into contact with Ice Monster Bun Buns. His in-series appearance in "Berry Sick" changes him into being a friendlier character who lives inside the Frosty Freezy Freeze machine, using his powers to create the icy beverage.

• Fun-Hating Confiscating Adult:
  • Their teacher confiscated Kyle's magic wand and told him he could have it back at the end of the year. Justified example, because Kyle was about to use it to cast a hostile spell on the titular duo.
  • He does it again in "Saving Private Chum Chum", when he sees everyone playing with toys and takes them all away, even Chum Chum due to swallowing a ball.
• G-Rated Drug: Frosty Freezy Freeze can be easily considered such, given how addicted to it Fanboy and Chum Chum are.
• Gag Nose: The whole plot of "Pick a Nose", with removable noses and all.
• Genre Throwback: This show looks and feels a lot like a 90s cartoon, but is done with 3D animation instead of 2D.

• Glass Eye: Fanboy has a glass eye in "Fan VS Wild" that serves as a Deus ex Machina.
• Go Back to the Source: In "Brain Freeze", FB and CC end up having a Frosty Freezy Freeze-infused hangover night which results in them losing their trademark underwear outside their suits. They manage to find the underwear in the Frosty Freezy Freeze machine, the same place they learned the Berry Pink flavor was replaced with Radioactive Red early in the episode.

• Gross-Out Show: A lot of the show's gags rely on Toilet Humour and the titular duo demonstrating terrible standards on personal hygiene.

• Helium Speech: Fanboy, Chum Chum, and Boog get high-pitched voices at the end of "Fanboy in the Plastic Bubble."
• High-Class Glass: Professor Flan, Kyle's old teacher from Milkweed Academy, wears a monocle.
• Hired to Hunt Yourself: In the climax of "The Great Bicycle Mystery", Fanboy and Chum Chum realize from the Frosty Mart's security footage those who destroyed Lenny's bike happened to be themselves.
• Halloween Episode: "There Will Be Shrieks", where Fanboy and Chum Chum encounter a Pumpkin Person named Mr. Trick, who tricks them into eating enchanted sweets that rob them of their sense of taste. He then manipulates the two into collecting 1,000 screams with the promise of giving them their sense of taste back, but instead uses the collected screams (all coming from Kyle) to get rid of all the candy.
• Hoist by His Own Petard:
  • Sometimes Kyle's spells tend to turn on himself.
    • On example is the spell "Charm to summon a griffon" in the pilot. He imagines the victim to be Fanboy, but then Fanboy swipes the spellbook and utters the incantation out loud, next to him. Minutes later, that griffon comes down from the skies, scoops up Kyle himself, and carries him away.
    • The magic eraser Kyle gives Fanboy in "Speed Eraser" has the ability to erase anything from existance; after literally attaching it to Fanboy, he is so upset and shocked he accidentally erases Kyle's own body, and later, his wand.
• Honesty Aesop: In the episode "The Tell-Tale Toy", Fanboy accidentally opens an Ultra Ninja toy meant for Chum Chum and breaks it, and he tries to hide the evidence from him so he doesn't find out. When he can't take it anymore, he is forced to tell the truth, but in a surprise "Shaggy Dog" Story, it turns out Chum Chum didn't want the ninja at all — he was going to give it to Fanboy and only wanted the box that the toy came in.
• Horrible Camping Trip: In "Fan VS Wild", Fanboy, Chum Chum, and Kyle go camping on the roof of the Frosty Mart and become stranded as if they're stuck on a mountain.
• Horny Vikings: Thorvald the Red, brother of Olaf, son of Smellanor, third-high scorer on Whack-A-Dragon. Like most fictional depictions of vikings, he has a horned helmet.

• Idiot Ball: Several plots require Fanboy and/or Chum Chum being stupider than they usually are in order for the story's events to happen at all. One example that stands out is "The Last Strawberry Fun Finger", where it takes literally the entire episode for the boys to figure out that they can share the last Strawberry Fun Finger by cutting the snack in half.
• Imagine Spot: In "Refill Madness", Lenny imagines what would happen if Fanboy and Chum Chum realized they had a cup for unlimited free refills. It's portrayed as a Shout-Out to Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds.
• Imagine the Audience Naked: When Fanboy is nervous about getting the job of erasing the chalkboard in "Speed Eraser", Chum Chum advises him to pretend everyone is wearing their underwear on the outside.

  • Averted in "Fanboy in the Plastic Bubble": "PREPARE FOR DEATH BY BOP!"
• Nice Mean And In Between:
  • Chum Chum is the nice one, the Cheerful Child who is sweet, rather innocent, and can have his feelings hurt sometimes. Kyle is the mean one, a wizard who serves as a snarky killjoy who despises anything fun but can have his Jerk with a Heart of Gold moments, other times acting as a full-on Villain Protagonist. Fanboy is the in-between, due to being dimwitted and funny, but can be more serious than Chum Chum. You can tell which is which by their clothing colors.
  • The three main grownups are this, too. Oz is a hoarder but a friend to the two boys, Boog is a bully who bops anyone, and Lenny mediates between the two because he's always annoyed and flustered but sometimes has a soft side.
  • Some of the girls are also this. Lupe is soft-hearted; Francine is stuck-up; Yo is a wild Genki Girl who has a warm side at times.
• Night-Vision Goggles: Used by Boog in "Fanboy in the Plastic Bubble."
• Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot: In Lights Out, the boys want to watch a film that is literally entitled Robot Pirate Ninja President.
• Nobody Here but Us Statues: Fanboy, Chum Chum, and Yum Yum hide in the school's trophy case to avoid Janitor Poopatine in "The Janitor Strikes Back".
• No Celebrities Were Harmed: Fanboy and Chum Chum's classmate Michael Johnson is obviously based on Michael Jackson, complete with apparel influenced by the costume Jackson wore in the Thriller music video, moonwalking and occasionally saying "Hee-hee" and "Shamone".
• No Ending: Episodes ending with no clear resolution to the main plot are a fairly often occurrence due to the show's Negative Continuity.
• Non-Nude Bathing: The two main characters bathe with their superhero costumes on.
• No One Should Survive That!:
  • In "Excuse Me", the boys bounce Kyle on their springs so hard they fly right up into space...then drop back down to earth easily. They wouldn't have did so in real life, as space has no gravity. Also, it would take a long time to get to space as they need to break the sound barrier first.
  • At the end of "Lord of the Rings", Kyle falls into a Lava Pit and is immediately rescued by a griffon without a singe.
• The Noseless: Fanboy and Chum Chum are capable of detaching their noses from their faces and swapping them with each other in "Pick a Nose", leaving brief moments where neither of them has a nose. In "Fanboy Stinks", Chum Chum removes his nose because he can't stand Fanboy's odor, but he is still able to smell him through his ears.
• "Not Wearing Pants" Dream: Chum Chum mentions in "Fangboy" that Fanboy once dreamed he was seen in public without his Underwear of Power.

• Ocular Gushers: Every time a character cries, the tears stream from their eyes like a sprinkler.
• Off-Model: In the John Kricfalusi-esque way. If you've ever seen any of the storyboards, you probably know that they look completely different than the actual show. As evidenced by a storyboard artist, this

• Offscreen Crash: At the beginning of "Strings Attached", Fanboy throws a huge water balloon out into the street. Car crashes and alarms are heard.

  Fanboy: Well, it looks like they're all good swimmers, so it's a happy ending after all.

• Ominous Fog: "Monster in the Mist" is all about scary fog.
• Only Sane Man: Kyle and Lenny often fill the role of the only sane and intelligent character, the former being one of few characters to have a common sense.
• Opening Shout-Out:
  • In "Attack of the Clones" when Cloneboy and Chum Clone try the Frosty Freezy Freeze, they launch into the "Brain freeze!" sequence from the theme song.
  • In "The Janitor's Apprentice" when the boys see Janitor Poopatine's Dump Star and "Attack of the Clones" when they witness Boog's bop arms, their reaction is taken from the very end of the theme song: "Ohhhh! That's nice!"
• Organ Autonomy: After Fanboy refuses to take a bath, his hand grows mushrooms for eyes and gains the personality of a mobster named Stinks. A particularly squicky scene results when Stinks "has to use the little hand's room."
• Our Gryphons Are Different: Apparently, griffons exist in this universe, usually as creatures summoned by Kyle.
• Our Vampires Are Different: The "Fangboy" episode has Fanboy believe he's become a vampire due to waking up with a mosquito bite on his neck. After he consults a neck specialist named Dr. Acula to give Chum Chum a neck in order for it to be possible for Fanboy to bite Chum Chum there and make him a vampire, Dr. Acula turns out to have actually bitten Fanboy before when he bites Fanboy while trying to bite Chum Chum, remarks that the blood tastes familiar and freaks out at realizing that feeding on an idiot is why he was acting moronic earlier.
• Overly-Long Gag:
  • Fanboy screams "Aaaah! What have I done?!" no less than seven times in "The Tell-Tale Toy".
  • Kyle's screaming in "There Will Be Shrieks". Technically, he screams one thousand times in a row, but only the first ten or so are heard.
• Pac Man Fever: Outdated representations of video games are justified by the fact that the only video games seen in the series are arcade games and a virtual pet.
• Parental Abandonment:
  • Played straight. Fanboy and Chum Chum's parents are never seen nor mentioned, same with Kyle and other children. Matter of fact, there's no trace of anyone's parents anywhere, with only brief mentions to relatives.
  • Yo and Oz are the only ones who avert this, though the latter is the only one whose are shown, while the former's is only mentioned.
• Paper-Thin Disguise:
  • In "Battle of the Stands", Fanboy disguises himself as a baby so he and Chum Chum can gather more customers at their lemonade stand than Yo and Lupe. Only Yo and Lupe can see through his disguise, which is nothing more than a bonnet and a pacifier.
  • Chum Chum's disguise as the Toxic Teapot in "Fanboyfriend" is literally just him wearing a teapot costume. Lupe doesn't notice.
• Peek-a-Bangs: Ms. Olive the kindergarten teacher has one of her eyes covered up by her hair.
• Phrase Catcher: Chum Chum usually says "Poop!" whenever someone mentions Poopatine's name out loud.
• Picture Day: Fanboy and Chum Chum have class picture day in "Pick a Nose". "Funny Face" does the same.
• Piano Drop: One of the curses Lenny suffers when Fanboy plays around with the Staff of Chumnubis in "Frosty Mart Dream Vacation" is having a piano fall on him.
• Pie in the Face:
  • A pie thrown in the face happens several times in "Prank Master".
  • "Funny Face" ends with the class picture flubbed when Mr. Mufflin's pies end up hitting the faces of Fanboy and Chum Chum's classmates.
• The Pig-Pen: Fanboy becomes deliberately untidy and filthy when he tries to set a world record for the longest time without taking a bath.
• Pinocchio Nose: Fanboy has his nose grow to show that he's lying in "Strings Attached" when he says he'll do a good deed.
• Pirate: The episode "Fanboy A'hoy" has all the kids as pirates.
• Please, I Will Do Anything!: The entire point of the "Chimp Chomp Chumps" episode, in which Boog begs Fanboy and Chum Chum for their ticket to the Chimp Chomp movie and the boys take advantage of his desperation to get the ticket by persuading him into doing various demeaning and humiliating tasks.
• Pokémon Speak: Chum Chum's cousin Muk Muk only says her own name.
• Potty Emergency: Fanboy and Chum Chum experience a need to pee in "Fanboy in the Plastic Bubble" when they are trapped inside of a plastic bubble and Boog teases them by pouring a pitcher of water into a cup.
• Potty Failure: Used as a joke at the end of "The Incredible Shrinking Fanboy" when Yo's dollhouse is stuck on Fanboy's body. He tells Chum Chum to hurry with removing it because "the basement's flooding".
• The Precious, Precious Car: Boog has a fancy car named Sandy who he is very protective of.
• Precocious Crush: Fanboy and Chum Chum both develop crushes on the school nurse Pam in "Lice Lice Baby".
• Psycho Electro: Boog at the end of "A Bopwork Orange" gains electrical powers and decides to use them on Fanboy and Chum Chum to get around being prohibited from bopping them.
• Pumpkin Person: The Halloween Episode "There Will Be Shrieks" features a pumpkin-headed man named Mr. Trick.
• Puppet Permutation: Fanboy and Boog in "Strings Attached" get turned into marionettes.
• Puppy-Dog Eyes: Mr. Mufflin gets sad-looking eyes when he reads Fanboy's, Chum Chum's, and Kyle's sappy excuse notes because they were "saving kittens in an avalanche" or something similar.
• Race Against the Clock:
  • In "The Hard Sell", Oz has to sell something before 6:00 otherwise his mother will shut down his store and turn it into a yogurt shop.
  • In "Strings Attached", Fanboy has to do one good deed by 5:00 if he wishes to keep his transformation into a marionette.
• Radiation-Induced Superpowers: Fanboy tries to get real superpowers by getting bitten by a radioactive spider in "Fanboyfriend." Later in the episode, Lupe and Chum Chum acquire powers after a picnic by the power plant.
• Rapid-Fire "No!":
  • Poopatine gives one in "The Sword in the Throne" as the boys enter the sacred bathroom stall to see the Plunger of Power.
  • In "Crib Notes", this was Necronomicon's response when Kyle asks him for the "crib notes" spell.
  • In "Speed Eraser", Kyle gives one as Fanboy (purposefully) tries to erase his own head.
• "Rashomon"-Style: "The Great Bicycle Mystery" has several characters retelling their version of what happened to Lenny's destroyed bicycle, but details in each story conflict with one another. The true culprits turned out to be FB and CC themselves, as the security camera reveals they accidentally landed on the bike, crushing it, from a failed stunt.
• Reaching Between the Lines: In "Cold War", Fanboy eats Lenny's nachos while talking with him on the phone.
• Real After All: The monster in "Monster in the Mist" turns out to be real after initially just being Boog and Lenny's hallucinatory perceptions of Fanboy and Chum Chum caused by sleep deprivation.
• Reality Warper: The titular boys are all but stated to be this. "Separation Anxiety" even reveals the boys must be together because separating them will rip a hole in the space-time continuum.
• Real Time: Near the end of “The Hard Sell”, Oz’s mom warns him she’ll be coming downstairs in one minute. Exactly one minute after she says that, she’s in the store after Oz sells the pickle jar.
• "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Kyle gives one to Fanboy and Chum Chum in "Cold War" upon getting mad at the fact they make up rules for their games; for some reason they are smiling throughout all of it and don't show any sign of their feelings being hurt.
• Record Needle Scratch: Has happened on more than one occasion.
• Red Eyes, Take Warning:
  • Kyle shows red eyes to highlight his sinister nature in "Tooth or Scare" and "Heroes vs. Villains".
  • The new lunch lady at the end of "Norse Code" has her eyes glows red to signify that she's evil.
• Red Oni, Blue Oni:
  • Fanboy and Chum Chum are both red to Kyle's blue, and Boog is red to Lenny's blue.
  • In episodes and scenes where it's just the two main characters, depending on the episode, they tend to swap places with Fanboy being responsible (blue) and thinking up some sort of kooky plan (red) while Chum Chum is an excitable Cheerful Child (red) who tends to be the voice of reason when his friend flies off the handle (blue).
• Repetitive Name: Chum Chum's name is obviously the same word twice in a row.
• Reports of My Death Were Greatly Exaggerated: The main point of "Stan-Arctica" is Fanboy — and virtually everyone else in town — believes Man-Arctica died after reading a comic book where he falls down a black hole after being defeated by Global Warmer. When the hero is revealed to have survived, he disguises himself as a mild mannered citizen and takes up a job at Oz's store to keep up the act.
• Retcon: Two Season 1 episodes reference Christmas - in "Night Morning", Chum Chum says Man-Arctica delivers toys to kids; Yo corrects him by saying "Isn't that Santa Clause?". Later in "Eyes on the Prize", Fanboy says buying a cereal of Man-Arcticrunch is like Christmas but with cereal. Come the Season 2 Christmas Episode "A Very Brrr-y Icemas", Christmas is not celebrated at all - it's parodied as Icemas, with Man-Arctica acting like Santa Clause.
• Revenge:
  • Marsha used to be the star student, but thanks to Fanboy sneezing on her placement test, she received such a failing grade that she is sent back to kindergarten. She vowed payback on him because of this.
  • Kyle is extremely jealous when Mr. Mufflin gives his position of "board eraser-er" to Fanboy because of his impressive erasing routine; to get back at him, he is presented with a cursed eraser that literally makes anything disappear. But instead of getting in trouble, Mr. Mufflin and the students praise him for "freeing them all" and the eraser only makes him even more popular.
• Riddle for the Ages:
  • What do Fanboy and Chum Chum look like without their masks? And what are their "secret identities"? The one time they took them off, we only saw them from behind, and by the time we see their front, the masks are back on.
  • Why do the boys live by themselves? And where are their parents?
• Roger Rabbit Effect: "Slime Day" has CGI-animated Fanboy and Chum Chum appear at Nickelodeon Studios and interact with Don Newhouse and the president of Nickelodeon in live-action.
• Rubber-Hose Limbs: Has happened occasionally.
• Rule of Three:
  • Kyle's list of what will happen to Fanboy in "Speed Eraser" (just look at Fanboy's "Oh, Crap!" face throughout):

  Kyle: Every time you reach for a toy...IT WILL BE ERASED. Every time you try to slurp a Frosty Freezy Freeze...IT WILL BE ERASED. And every time you try to reach for the remote...IT WILL BE...ERASED!

  • Yet later on, it's himself who gets erased.
• Rushmore Refacement: "The Last Strawberry Fun Finger" has Fanboy bring up a hypothetical landmark called Mt. Awesomemore, shown to be a version of Mt. Rushmore where all the faces are of Chum Chum, when he argues on why Chum Chum deserves to have the last Strawberry Fun Finger.
• Running on the Spot: Shows up quite frequently whenever someone is about to run away.

• Sand In My Eyes: At the end of "Norse Code", Fanboy says, "I'm not crying, the vortex just threw something in my eye!" He has a similar line in "Moppy Dearest".
• Scout-Out:
  • The Man-Arctic Seal Cubs, which are a parody of the Boy Scouts.
  • "Precious Pig" has Fanboy imitating Smeagul and Gollum near the end.
• Self-Deprecation: The show loves doing this to itself. For an example, they take a jab at the frequent use of Toilet Humour in "Little Glop of Horrors".

  Fanboy: Hey Kyle! It's pizza day! Come play pizza monkeys with us!

  Kyle: You two are... pizza monkeys? What do you do, throw your poopparoni?

  Fanboy and Chum Chum burst out with laughter

  Kyle: (sighing) I'm witty day after day - and this is what they laugh at.

• Self-Induced Allergic Reaction: Boog fakes an allergic reaction to breathing air so Fanboy and Chum Chum will let him inside their plastic bubble. The two fall for it, and immediately afterwards, Boog's allergy clears up and he proceeds to beating up Fanboy and Chum Chum.
• Sequel Episode: The whole-episode superhero Imagine Spot in "Heroes Vs. Villains" later gets its own full-episode adventure in "Super Chums".
• Series Continuity Error: The show has quite a few inconsistencies with continuity, possibly because of production and broadcast orders.
  • A fine example would be in where "Bubble Trouble" features the boys as Man-Arctic Scouts graduating from Seal Cubs to Narwhals at the end and yet in "Camp-Arctica" (which was produced after "Bubble Trouble"), they are Seal Cubs again.
  • "I'm Man-Arctica!" shows the boys and others don't know Man-Arctica yet in earlier episodes they do.
  • Fanboy doesn't like studying as shown in "I, Fanbot"; in "Crib Notes" he doesn't know what studying is.
• Series Goal: Kyle's is to get readmitted to Milkweed Academy, though it is mainly prominent in the second season.
• "Shaggy Dog" Story:
  • A surprise one in "The Tell-Tale Toy". As it turns out, Chum Chum didn't want the Ultra Ninja at all — he was only interested in the box that it came in, and was going to give Fanboy the toy, so Fanboy's efforts to keep Chum Chum from finding out that he accidentally broke the toy were all for nothing.
  • In "Crib Notes", Kyle casts a spell that will give him the answers to a test to be readmitted into Milkweed Academy, except it turns him into a baby and he must go to sleep to know the answers. Fanboy and Chum Chum try various methods to make him sleep, and when they finally succeed and Kyle takes the test, his answers are voided because he didn't use a No. 2 wand.
  • In "Kids in the Hall", Kyle desperately tries to give Professor Flan his essay to be readmitted to his Milkweed Academy, but hall monitors Fanboy and Chum Chum keep getting in his way. In the process, Kyle's essay gets eaten by a three-headed dog from another dimension, forcing him to hand in a drawing on a sticky note. To Kyle's surprise, Flan likes the drawing so much that he accepts Kyle back to Milkweed... until he gets eaten by the three-headed dog.
• Sick Episode:
  • "Cold War" has the two main characters sick at home and of each other.
  • "Chicken Pox", to some extent, as it has Kyle afflicted with a version of the chicken pox that makes him turn into an actual chicken.
• Single Tear: Moppy sheds one when Fanboy appears to leave her for Muk-Muk in "Moppy Dearest".
• Skyward Scream: Fanboy has one in "Stan Arctica" when he reads a comic about Man-Arctica being defeated by the Global Warmer and falling into a black hole.
• Slapstick: Right after Toilet Humour and puns, the show's most common type of humor is to have the characters suffer silly injuries.
• Sleazy Politician: Mr. Mufflin
• Slippery Skid: Guaranteed whenever Boog chases the titular duo around the Frosty Mart.
• Smashed Eggs Hatching: After Kyle lays an egg while transformed into a chicken in "Chicken Pox", Fanboy and Chum Chum end up cracking it due to their carelessness, but this leads to a fairy emerging from the egg and turning Kyle back to normal.
• Snap Back: A lot of weird stuff happens at the end of many episodes, only to be forgotten about by the next one (Fanboy and Chum Chum becoming vampires at the end of "Fangboy" and Lupe and Chum Chum gaining super powers at the end of "Fanboyfriend" stand out in particular).
• Spaghetti Kiss: "Robo-mance" features this in the musical number of the same name, where one part shows the Dollar-nator and Julie Android kiss after sucking on the same strand of spaghetti made of wires.
• Spit Take: Dr. Acula spits his drink when Fanboy tells him he's a vampire in "Fangboy".
• Split-Screen Phone Call: In "Cold War", Fanboy calls in sick to the Frosty Mart and is able to reach across the split screens.
• Spoiler Title: Subverted, but the title card for "Speed Eraser" has Fanboy erasing Kyle's body with the magic eraser he has been given. This is exactly what happens to him in the actual episode.
• Stab the Salad: The lunchladies have a habit of acting mean and threatening when they're actually trying to do something nice.
• Stage Magician: Fanboy does magic tricks as The Great Fantini in "Lord of the Rings".
• Stalker Shrine: Yo is shown to have a shrine of photos of Chum Chum in "The Incredible Shrinking Fanboy".
• Stating the Simple Solution: In "I, Fanbot", Fanboy switches brains with Oz's robot so he can become a robot himself and be smarter; when asked why they didn't just put the robot's brain in his own body, Fanboy claims if they did that then he wouldn't have the "robot claws" the robot came with.

• Status Quo Is God: At the end of "A Bopwork Orange", Boog has learned not to bop, but to zap; after that, he retains his bopping obsession.
• Sting: Lampshaded in "The Great Bicycle Mystery" the first few times it occurs. Fanboy notices it and tries to make it happen again by saying "One of you is a culprit in the great bicycle mystery!" although it does not play.

  Fanboy: Nothin'? Huh, I guess we should get to it then.

• Stock Scream: "Microphonies" features the Howie Long Scream as one of the sound effects Fanboy and Chum Chum make using the Mega Mic.
• Stupid Statement Dance Mix: "Put That Cookie Down" has a dance mix made from various permutations of the Dollar-nator saying the episode's title.
• Stylistic Self-Parody: In "Normal Day", Boog is shown among the unusual beings Fanboy and Chum Chum want to take a bus out of town so it can be easier for them to have a normal day. When Boog protests that he is a normal human being and shouldn't have to go with the monsters and mythical creatures, Fanboy gives the rebuttal that there's no way Boog's tiny legs can possibly support the weight of his huge body.
• Sudden Videogame Moment: When the boys are trying to catch the monkey in "Gameboy", the animation style changes to 8-bit graphics.
• Superheroes Wear Capes: Fanboy and Chum Chum's superhero costumes include capes.

    T-Z 

• Take Our Word for It: The show uses it sometimes, for example in "Little Glop Of Horrors", when the Necronomicon "vomits" the glop. The camera cuts away to the kids sitting at the table. After a while, Kyle walks into the shot, covered in the glop head to toe.
• Talk Like a Pirate: The kids in "Fanboy A'hoy" all do this, although they go in and out of it.
• Teacher's Pet: Kyle is one in "The Book Report of the Dead," and after Mr. Mufflin becomes a zombie, Fanboy refers to Kyle as "suck-up."
• That Poor Cat: The show uses the sound effect of a yowling cat quite a bit.
• This Ain't Rocket Surgery: In "I, Fanbot" where Fanboy swaps brains with a robot.
• Time-Passage Beard: Spoofed in "Schoolhouse Lock", where the prepubescent Fanboy and Chum Chum have somehow grown beards within the span of three minutes.
• Time Passes Montage: In "The Great Bicycle Mystery", Lenny's eight hours at the Frosty Mart are shown during a quick montage with many recurring characters passing across the screen.
• Toilet Humour:
  • Quite a few episodes like to throw in a poop or fart joke somewhere.
  • When Kyle has to lay an egg to cure his chicken pox, he says "coffee and a bran muffin ought to help things move along."
  • OOH!! OOH!! I got one! KYLE is gonna squeeze an egg out of his BUTT!!
  • From "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha":

  Fanboy: You're the best number two I've ever taken on a mission.

  • In "Sigmund the Sorcerer", Sigmund refers to Kyle as "Kyle the Constipater" (as opposed to Kyle the Conjurer) several times throughout the episode, and jeers, "You push and push, and all for nothing!"
  • Man-Arctica's battle cry is "Time to break arctic wind!"
• Token Evil Teammate: Though not technically evil, Kyle is this in Fanboy and Chum Chum's class, being more snarky and despising over their kooky and wild behavior. He's also the least friendly.
• Tomato in the Mirror: In "Monster in the Mist", Boog stares at a video game for so long that his eyesight becomes poor, and sees what appears to be a scary monster which is really Fanboy with Chum Chum sitting on his head. Naturally, it takes until the end of the episode for the boys to realize they were the monster the whole time.
• Too Much Information: Fanboy's reaction to Kyle confessing that he farts fairies when he's anxious in "Lord of the Rings".

  Fanboy: Okay, I did not need to know that.

• Tooth Fairy: Kyle dreads getting a visit from the Wizard Tooth Fairy in "Tooth or Scare", as the Wizard Tooth Fairy is a ruthless barbarian who doesn't just take the lost tooth when a wizard loses the tooth, but also takes the rest of the wizard's teeth. In the end, Kyle manages to drive him away after learning that he is vulnerable to pillows.
• Total Eclipse of the Plot: In "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha", Fanboy tries to avoid taking a nap in kindergarten by opening the window shades to let sunlight into the room, but a solar eclipse occurs immediately afterwards.
• Training Montage: In "Eyes on the Prize", Oz trains Fanboy and Chum Chum in the art of finding prizes in cereal boxes. Lampshaded at the beginning of the sequence when they punch through a cereal box called "Montage Munch".
• Traveling-Pipe Bulge: The Frosty Freezy Freeze makes a bulge in the straw.
• Treasure Map: Fanboy and Chum Chum have two in "Fanboy A'hoy"; one is a "decoy" and the other leads to the real treasure.

Later, Fanboy and Chum Chum meet a real vampire, Dr. Acula, who spends the rest of the episode trying to bite Chum Chum and ends up biting Fanboy's scalp by mistake. As it turns out, Dr. Acula had bitten Fanboy before, leaving bite marks on his neck on the side opposite from where the mosquito bite is.
